I Live on the Land in Global Games -
Chapter 240 - 237: Talkative Mu Ying
Chapter 240: Chapter 237: Talkative Mu Ying
Shi Yin watched her chatter away, the tenderness and fondness in his eyes almost spilling over.
Mu Ying took him on a tour of her magic hut, "This house is something I transformed in the Trial World, and it can even shrink down for easy travel! This is my room, and the one across is for you. I said I’d take care of you, and I did! Oh my, it’s getting late... you go check out the room, I’ll go cook!"
She had eaten quite a lot for lunch and wasn’t very hungry, but she still wanted to make Shi Yin a good meal, to show off her cooking magic and fill him up.
Shi Yin watched her scurry down the stairs with an amused smile, in front of a room with a square tapestry hanging on the door.
A chibi version of a silver-haired werewolf boy was embroidered with silver threads, his cheeks blushing and his silver eyes misty.
Across the corridor, there was a similar tapestry on another room’s door, featuring a green-haired little girl riding a broom, her emerald eyes sparkling.
"The current Ying is even cuter now!"
Shi Yin curiously studied it again and again, poking the chubby little cheeks of the little witch on the tapestry, wishing he could steal it away. Regrettably, even teleporting himself here was difficult enough, let alone bringing anything along. Anything from here would be destroyed during teleportation.
Looking next door, there was another room with a tapestry, this one displaying a panda cub, adorable with its black and white pattern.
Shi Yin smirked and flipped it over.
After admiring his own werewolf tapestry and Ying’s witch tapestry again, he pushed the door and entered his room.
The entire room was carpeted with fluffy white rugs, and there was a painting above the headboard of a wolf pack howling at the moon, with him leading and Da Hui and the others behind, although the count was off, with a few extra wolf pups.
The room’s color scheme was cool, featuring the silver and white he favored, but the little details throughout exuded warmth, which he adored.
"Shi Yin! Have you finished looking? Come down for dinner!"
Mu Ying’s voice sounded.
Shi Yin took one more longing glance around, then left.
Descending the stairs, he saw the spacious, bright open kitchen where utensils and ingredients moved on their own, the prepared dishes automatically served themselves, and the bowls and chopsticks neatly arranged themselves.
"Isn’t that amazing!" Mu Ying sat at the dining table, legs crossed, waving her magic wand, showing off to Shi Yin.
Shi Yin walked over and tousled her hair, "Amazing, Ying is the most amazing!"
He then rubbed his stomach and cooed at her, "It smells so good! I’m starving, just waiting for Ying to feed me. Listen, it’s already grumbling!"
He even asked Mu Ying to feel for herself.
When Mu Ying’s hand touched it, she looked at him bemusedly and said, "Are you showing off your abs to me?"
"Doesn’t Ying like guys with abs and pecs?"
Shi Yin had seen more than once photos of male abs popping up on the screen while Mu Ying played with her phone.
Mu Ying was completely confused, "When did I start liking abs, and how come I don’t know about it? These abs aren’t as nice to touch as your fur!"
Shi Yin suddenly laughed, her eyes full of little stars, "It’s nothing, I just misunderstood, and I trained them specially for you!"
"Well, having abs makes you stronger, which is good because you used to be too frail," Mu Ying said, trying to spare his feelings, and then she tried to shift his focus, "If you’re hungry, eat quickly. Cook while you eat to save time, and then we can chat longer later!"
"Okay!" Shi Yin sat down beside her.
Mu Ying picked up some of his favorite food with her chopsticks, "I ate too much during the day, and I’m a bit full now, so I’ll just chat with you!"
Normally she didn’t think much to say, but whenever she saw Shi Yin, she found she had a lot to talk about.
"That day, after we parted, I was halfway up the hill when the Doomsday Game descended, but I was incredibly lucky. The zombie that landed near me hadn’t fully emerged, and I stabbed it with the kitchen knife I carried for self-defense. Then I found a Lord Token near it.
I wanted to go back to Wolf King Slope, but there were too many wild beasts on the way, and I couldn’t beat them, so I set up a territory near the Moon Lake Reservoir. I have to thank the big brother who was fishing by Moon Lake that day. He brought a lot of stuff, and although those things rotted away over time, they helped me a lot at the beginning.
I was waiting for you to come and find me, but after several days, you didn’t show up. So I guessed you must have gone to receive your heritage. I was relieved.
Oh right, the Profession I chose is Druid, and after I logged into the game, I found out I wasn’t human but a Half-Elf. No wonder I loved the forest so much; there was a bloodline reason behind it. I have no idea which of my parents was an Elf.
And that bracelet I wore as a child turns out to be a treasure of the Elf Clan. I really don’t understand why they would leave something so precious with me yet abandon me.
But it doesn’t matter anymore. I’ve long passed the age when I need parents, and I’m doing very well now.
I’m really powerful now. In the whole Xia Country, there’s no player with a higher level than me. Also, I chose a wolf for my first Wild Form, a white one, so majestic!
Oh yes, Da Hui and the others have evolved into Sky Wolves. They have a Sky Pouch on them and can use Space Blade. The Wolf Pack has also expanded—they’ve had two litters of cubs by now. They’re probably playing in the Undersea Corridor now. You’ll be surprised when you see them later.
Speaking of the Undersea Corridor, the mermaids initially said they were going to have a lantern festival to celebrate the new year. But it turned out to be a spooky place, perfect for a haunted house. Even the innocent little mermaids learned to dress up as ghosts to scare people. If only you could stay longer, I’d take you there to play. The theme may have deviated, but it was still fun, just more appropriate for the Ghost Festival..."
Mu Ying spoke her mind, reminiscing about the days when she and Shi Yin could talk about anything and everything. They were close friends, brothers, and almost like family. They grew up together and knew each other inside and out. When together, they were in their most relaxed and natural state.
Shi Yin listened attentively to Mu Ying, never taking his eyes off her as he ate.
In fact, since his Avatar came to her side, he knew roughly what was happening around her, except about the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial.
He knew of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, the competitive arena where various universes allocated resources, but as it was a virtual world, he had never experienced it.
So her efforts to strive, her style in battle, and even the fierce way she beat someone up, he was aware of it all through his Avatar’s Perception.
It was because of her that he could keep his sanity and persistence while traveling through the lonely and chaotic streams of time. Whenever he was tired and weary, he could find the direction back home.
Mu Ying, wearing the Wolf Fur Ring, was his anchor in this space-time, his home. As long as she was there, he would never be lost.
