Chapter 233: Chapter 230: Exchange Promises
The fool, shunned and ignored, was the first to spot Mu Ying and her group. Irritated, he flew over, screaming, "gehe!"
Mu Ying: "..."
Although I didn’t understand what you were yelling, I knew you were cursing me.
Ignoring the powerless, furious fool, Mu Ying walked toward the shore.
After walking a bit, she heard a loud splash behind her, and water splashed onto her body.
"gehe!" The fool’s tragic scream echoed across the entire Moon Lake.
Turning around, Mu Ying saw him being held by the wings by Lily who was examining him, "What’s this? It can actually fly! Feels so creepy!"
The fool, forced to take a bath, struggled desperately to escape Lily’s grasp.
Mu Ying "rescued" him, letting him go off miserably to find Xie Sen, and told Lily, "This is a bird, a peregrine falcon, called Fool. Now it’s going to complain to its master. Be careful, its master is a very formidable Forest Patrol, particularly ferocious."
"Oh?" Lily shrank behind Mu Ying, scared, "Can’t you beat him?"
Mu Ying shook her head, "Can’t beat him!"
As Xie Sen comforted Fool, he mercilessly exposed her, "Could your lying voice be any louder?"
Mu Ying glanced at Xie Sen and told Lily, "Look at him, doesn’t he look fearsome?"
Lily peeked out a little head, took a sneaky look at the "ferocious" Xie Sen, "Wow, so scary. Such a fearsome touch, yet he shows no change in expression! But Yingying is lying, you two must have a good relationship, right? He’s just pretending to be mad!"
Mu Ying laughed, "Lily is very observant. He indeed is just pretending. But our relationship is just so-so; I mainly don’t dare to really anger him because I can’t beat him, haha, I am awesome!"
"A fight?" Xie Sen gritted his teeth.
"Friendly reminder, no violence is allowed in the territory!" Mu Ying said with a smile.
After bickering for a while, Mu Ying felt refreshed and formally introduced Lily to Xie Sen, Fool, Sky Wolves, and Gungun.
Lily, unable to comprehend creatures covered in fur, only dared to look, not touch.
She was particularly interested in Xie Sen, especially after Mu Ying said it was all just a joke.
"Is there any difference between male humans and female humans?"
This question had troubled Lily for a long time. The texts say that humans are divided into males and females, with distinct body structures, unlike their merfolk where males and females look quite alike.
She had observed humans in the Undersea Corridor for a long time, seen all kinds of legs. The female humans looked like Mu Ying, so she had a reference, but male humans’ bodies were always covered in clothes and armor.
Mu Ying instantly understood Lily’s train of thought, "Male humans are really ugly, with hairy legs. Don’t look anymore, it’s an eyesore."
"Ah?" Lily looked at Xie Sen in horror, swallowing hard.
Mu Ying, having prepared the wood materials in advance, changed the subject, "I’ll make you a fish tank, then I’ll take you to see the Mushroom Man Dungeon; you might really like it there."
Using her Shaping Wood Skill, she glued the wood into a fish tank just big enough for Lily. Lily curled up in the water and jumped in, holding the rim with both hands as docile as a child who had buckled up, waiting for the car to start.
Seeing her curiosity about male humans dropped, Mu Ying decisively transported her right away.
Mu Ying had considered the aesthetics of merfolk carefully; in the winter, only the Mushroom Man Dungeon was still colorful and splendid.
Indeed, the underground world filled with Night Light Plants grew right into Lily’s heart, mesmerizing her.
The colorful and sleek baby Mushroom Men were also good-looking and cute creatures to her.
The play at the Mushroom Man Theater was also fascinating for her, currently showing "Little Princess Fights the Great Demon Dragon". She chattered with Mu Ying, "This little princess is so adorable! Yingying probably looked like this when she was little!"
"I was not that cliché when I was young!"
Mu Ying truly hadn’t expected that with the Half-Breed’s grand opening long past, given the Mushroom Men’s love for bustling scenes, the play would still be showing. He ended up watching the entire play with Lily.
Social suicide is slow but sure.
It was about time, and the task of accompanying Lily finally ended amidst Mu Ying’s awkwardness.
"I’ll leave this tank for you. If you want to come out again, you can bring this tank with you to teleport, so you can come ashore, but only within the territory and various sub-camps. You absolutely must not leave the territory. If anyone dares to lure you out, they’re definitely bad people; don’t hesitate to come and tell me right away, understand?" Mu Ying cautioned her.
"And this, it’s called a Dingling Flower. Twist the flower bud, and you can talk to me, but only from here in the Main World. I have to focus on cultivation during this time, and I still need to fulfill the hair dye potion orders. If you need anything, contact me using this. But you can’t be playing all day either; learn some more from Priestess Granny."
Mu Ying couldn’t always be with her, but luckily mermaids are rich, and the cost of teleporting was just a drop in the ocean for them.
"Hmm, I got it! Don’t worry, I can go ashore to play by myself now!" Lily said with a smile, "Go ahead and busy yourself, mind to rest though. I’ve heard from the humans in your territory that you’re pushing yourself too hard. We’re still younglings, after all. Priestess Granny said younglings should play carefree."
Mu Ying: "..."
So they think I have no elders, eh?
He angrily tousled Lily’s hair and then vanished with a whoosh through teleportation.
Back at the Plantation, the figure Shi Yin, who had been quiet for a while, changed back from a ring to a little person, carrying a small bundle on his back.
"What are you up to?" Mu Ying curiously tapped the figure Shi Yin’s head, "Running away from home?"
Figure Shi Yin, with a flushed face, straightened his tousled hair and began drawing on a small blackboard.
Mu Ying looked at his simple, abstract drawing and asked, "Is your main body calling you back?"
Figure Shi Yin nodded.
"What for?" Mu Ying continued.
Figure Shi Yin spread his hands and shook his head.
"You don’t know? Did he say it’s a secret?" Mu Ying asked.
Figure Shi Yin nodded again.
"How long will you be gone?"
Figure Shi Yin stretched out both hands.
"Ten days? Can you be back before the year ends?"
Figure Shi Yin nodded obediently.
"Alright, stay safe," Mu Ying said. He hadn’t seen how Shi Yin had traveled here last time, so this time he intended to see for himself how he would leave.
Still carrying that small bundle, she shouldn’t assume he’s just a Wolf Brush, as all his forms looked similar to the appearance.
Figure Shi Yin, with teary eyes, reluctantly brushed against her finger, then jumped down to the ground and burrowed into the bushes.
Shouldn’t he be flying up to the sky? Why is he traveling through the ground?
Curious, Mu Ying followed him, watching him struggle through the thick bushes. After a long time, he was still in the Plantation.
Just as she thought of picking him up to help him, in the blink of an eye, he had disappeared.
