Chapter 147: Chapter 146: Return Trip (Push for More Updates)
Mu Ying hadn’t even realized when she had killed Liu Hu, only finding out later when she flipped through the Player Manual.
After this wave was over, only stragglers remained.
As the fog cleared, the scattered stragglers who could not breach the camp had no choice but to run outwards.
But the traps they had initially dug were in the way, and opposite them were even more players wielding weapons.
Once they had gathered enough people, they came to support.
Mu Ying and her group also chased out after them.
"Please, don’t kill me!"
Facing no way out, all they could do was kneel and surrender.
Some were real drug lords, others were wallflowers who had joined Brother Hu and his group after seeing their strength post-apocalypse.
In front of their lives, arrogance and dominance were no longer present.
Mu Ying didn’t make a sound and just pulled her bow taut.
Huo Shaobai and his group didn’t go easy either.
In a lawless apocalypse, these morally deficient people posed a greater threat than they had before the apocalypse.
"Good!"
The people of Chunan Camp acclaimed loudly, finally able to stand a bit straighter.
Still, some looked at them with fear.
Though they were executing bad people, the decisiveness and lack of hesitation chilled some to their core.
By the time they had dealt with these people, Mu Ying’s mission for this outing was mostly accomplished, and what transpired next would be up to the players she had brought along, impacting the amount of reward they would receive.
Mu Ying didn’t stay any longer. After dividing up her share of the loot, she returned up the slope to hurry the ox cart.
Killing wasn’t easy, but it somehow didn’t seem too difficult either.
"I’m not even human anymore, why should I agonize over killing, right?" Mu Ying muttered with a stoic face.
The figurine Shi Yin stretched out two small hands and gave her two thumbs-up.
Gungun silently rubbed her palm.
Little Bunny: "Chirp chirp~"
"Thank you, guys," Mu Ying’s face blossomed with a smile, she pulled Gungun into her embrace and rubbed it, stroked the Little Bunny in turn, and finally cradled the figurine Shi Yin in her palm, caressing his wolf ears until they turned red before she let him go.
What’s the big deal with killing? Monsters do it, wild beasts do it, what’s so special about people?
Some people are even worse than monsters!
Thus, the people of Chunan Camp saw the Female Killing God from the neighboring territory surrounded by a clump of fuzzy companions as she entered Chunan Camp.
Her bright smile, eyes like emeralds, and the gentle way she pet the fuzziness seemed like a completely different person from before.
"Is this her first time killing someone? She adapted so quickly?" Lu You said, surprised.
"We strong-hearted people are just like this, unlike you, who even cried the first time you killed someone," Huo Shaobai said flatly.
"You! Just because you think you’re the boss doesn’t mean I’m afraid to hit you!" Lu You snapped, furious, "Guys, beat him up for me!"
His friends remained indifferent.
"You really cried?"
"How did you cry?"
"Cry one out for the brothers to see, and I’ll cheer for you while you beat up the boss," one of them chimed in.
Lu You: "..."
He had indeed been mistaken.
After Mu Ying entered Chunan Camp, she found a spacious spot in the square and set down her tent.
Everyone was busy with their own duties tonight, and she didn’t need to look after anyone else’s meal, just caring for her few nearby companions was enough.
The simplest meal for Jumping Rabbit and Old Yellow Bull was to mix fruits, vegetables, and forage with water from Recovery Spring.
It was a bit more troublesome for her and Gungun.
She bought several pounds of snake meat from other players, planning to stew Snake Soup.
Although the snake looked slippery and a bit scary, its meat was quite delicious.
Full-bellied both human and bear, she was too tired today and had no desire to stroll around Chunan Camp.
This camp and Spirit Dragon Gorge Camp were too similar, nothing special, and she heard from other players that because Liu Hu and his group controlled the camp’s entrance, the shops were doing poorly and several had closed down.
This was the first time Mu Ying heard that these external shops could also go out of business.
It made sense, yet was somehow surprising.
The tent floor was covered with thick blankets, with a little rabbit on the left and Gungun and its Fire-breathing Egg on the right; Mu Ying was happily cuddled on both sides.
Two Jumping Rabbits cuddled together at the entrance of the tent.
Sounds from the camp seemed to quiet down once they reached there.
...
Mu Ying woke up in the morning from a fluffy leg kicking her from side to side.
"Little one, your legs are that strong?"
Mu Ying lifted the troublemaking rabbit by its ears and watched it kick in the air.
"Look at your siblings, you’re the naughtiest. Why not call you Pipi!"
It was just a casual remark by Mu Ying; all the rabbits actually looked exactly alike. She put it back, as long as it didn’t kick randomly, she might not even know which one it was.
She got up, pushed open the tent, and indeed, not many people were in Chunan Camp.
They were too poor, their money had been plundered by Liu Hu and his group. After Liu Hu and his group were killed, Mu Ying and her group divided the loot based on contribution, but they couldn’t possibly distribute the money to them.
So, not many were willing to enter the camp.
Mu Ying walked to the camp entrance and saw the players she brought along already busy.
"Lord, are you up?" Guan Hai greeted her as he saw her.
Mu Ying smiled and nodded, "How is recruiting going?"
"Need you ask? I’m from Chunan, and with my uncle’s help, we’re sure to take the lead this time!" Guan Hai assured with a slap on his chest.
"Keep up the good work, the territory’s upgrade depends on you," Mu Ying said with a cheerful smile.
Seeing everyone so enthusiastic, she could rest easy.
"Look, our Lord is so approachable. I dare say no one is more down-to-earth than her. We even picked chicken eggs together when we stumbled upon a nest of Fire-breathing Chickens on the road!" Guan Hai continued to chat with others, heavily praising their Lord.
Mu Ying: "..."
She really wanted to deduct all of Guan Hai’s "salary." They weren’t going to get over the egg picking, were they?
I’ll endure...
Her inner fury needed comforting with some good food.
She wasn’t leaving for the territory until tomorrow, so with nothing much to do today, Mu Ying thought she’d look for some unique local food similar to Spirit Dragon Gorge Camp.
After walking around, Mu Ying gave up; she might as well cook something herself as only a few shops were left at this camp.
At dawn the next day, Mu Ying drove a cart out of Chunan Camp; by then, quite a few players were assembled outside, packed and ready.
Mu Ying buried the final piece of stone road model at the entrance of Chunan Camp.
Then she opened the territory interface, made a slight adjustment to the stone road, and chose to build.
The players from Qingshan Territory had seen this scene before and were relatively calm, but the people from Chunan Camp were much more excited.
Quite a few who had originally not planned to go with them saw this miraculous sight and hurried back to pack their belongings.
Although Chunan Camp was a bit behind in development and the players’ strength was weaker than those from Qingshan Territory, many still chose to stay.
Some couldn’t bear to leave the grains in their fields, while others feared jumping out of the tiger’s den only to enter a wolf’s lair. However, the tasks Mu Ying issued had a very good motivational effect, and most people followed them.
