I Got My System Late, But I'll Become Beastgod
Chapter 121: The Tide of Despair

Chapter 121: The Tide of Despair

Everyone stood frozen—watching in mounting horror as the phenomenon unfolded.

Zorwath—who had looked on the brink of death moments ago—was now regenerating. His body pulsed with dark energy, and the beasts... the beasts were being born from nothing.

Twisted, grotesque creatures clawed their way into existence—bone knitting, sinew stretching, black flesh covering them.

Seenu, Meera, Raj, Kunal, Riya, Haider Ali, King Veerendra, Kiyoshi, Afreen, Shinroku— and every other fighter—watched in stunned silence.

One Calonian soldier dropped to his knees, voice trembling.

"So... is he truly... a god?"

Across the battered field, the remaining generals of Calonia—along with soldiers from allied nations—slowly knelt before Zorwath.

Their lead general lowered his head, voice echoing:

"We... submit to you... the new King Zorwath."

A faint hum filled the air. Soldiers on both sides froze mid-swing—drawn to the growing distortion around Zorwath’s broken body.

Aamir’s eyes narrowed.

"What... is he doing...?"

The air around Zorwath shimmered like a heat haze—his mangled chest slowly knitting itself back together. Black veins pulsed and slithered across his body.

Kiyoshi gasped.

"Impossible! That regeneration... it’s not natural!"

King Veerendra’s face darkened.

"No... it’s worse than that. He is evolving."

Zorwath threw his head back, laughing—a deep, hollow sound.

"Good. You’ve made the correct decision. You would gain nothing standing against me."

He turned his gaze toward Veerendra, Haider Ali, and the others still standing defiantly.

"And what about you? Do you still wish to resist me?"

His tone grew darker.

"It is futile to fight. I am inevitable."

King Veerendra raised his chin. His voice rang clear:

"No. You cannot sway us. We will never become your allies."

A slow smile crept over Zorwath’s lips.

"Then... die."

The ground quaked. A giant leg slammed down with earth-shattering force.

Then another.

Then another.

Then a fourth.

The monstrous limbs began assembling a form—a colossal shape taking shape before their eyes.

Its head emerged—serpentine and draconic. Black scales gleamed like obsidian. Its eyes burned with red hatred.

When the creation completed—a towering Apex Tier Dragon stood, wings unfolding wide enough to cast a shadow over half the battlefield.

As the final scales locked into place, the dragon’s eyes ignited—two crimson suns glaring down at the battlefield.

Its wings unfurled—one titanic beat sent a shockwave that threw nearby soldiers off their feet.

Shinroku’s knuckles turned white around his blade.

"This... is beyond anything I’ve faced."

Meera whispered, trembling.

"A... fully formed Apex-tier... how are we supposed to fight that?"

Shinroku’s face paled.

"An Apex Tier beast..."

Meanwhile, Aamir—still recovering from the shadowy beast’s blow—struggled to his feet.

His system pulsed furiously.

[WARNING! Apex Tier Threat Detected! Escape Recommended!]

His eyes widened in horror.

"An Apex Tier?! This is insane! How can one man... summone a beast of this level?"

Haider Ali shouted over the roaring winds.

"He is not summoning them, Aamir. He is creating them. This is his power!"

The towering creature flapped its massive wings—sending shockwaves through the air.

Its black, hardened skin looked nearly impenetrable.

Aamir’s Chimera Form remained active—but still, his system blared warnings.

Zorwath smirked.

"Now... all of you will die here. And I won’t even need to move."

With a wave of his hand—hordes of twisted beasts surged toward the remaining soldiers.

King Veerendra roared:

"Hold your ground! Defend yourselves! Fight!"

Aamir soared into the air, wings slicing through the sky.

With a feral roar—he tore through two Monarch-level beasts with his claws, sending black ichor spraying.

His crimson system screen flashed:

[Congratulations! You have slain 2 Monarch-Level Beasts!]

"Incredible..." Aamir thought.

"I used to struggle just fighting one Monarch beast... and now I can kill two with ease. But even now... it’s not enough!"

Every time he thought he had grown stronger—another nightmare like this emerged.

But he refused to back down.

Aamir summoned his Blue Phoenix—chest glowing with searing azure flames.

As the majestic Blue Phoenix spread its wings, the battlefield seemed to pause.

"By the stars..." whispered an Aryavrata mage.

"A sacred beast..."

The Phoenix soared above the carnage, trails of azure flames cascading in its wake. Where the flames touched, charred ground bloomed with new life—soldiers gasping as torn flesh mended and strength flooded back.

"Stand!" Aamir’s voice echoed.

"While this light burns, YOU WILL FIGHT!"

But amid the awe—one colossal beast leapt toward the Phoenix mid-flight.

"No you don’t!" Aamir surged upward, fist wreathed in blue fire, meeting the beast head-on—BAM!—sending it crashing in flames.

The soldiers roared in unison.

"FOR ARYAVRATA!"

Aamir gasped in awe.

"Whoa... she’s grown so much!"

The Phoenix soared high—its wings fanning flames across the battlefield, burning beasts to ash.

At the same time—its healing light washed over friendly forces.

Aryavrata’s soldiers—wounded and exhausted—felt renewed vigor as the blue flames touched them.

One soldier gasped in wonder:

"It’s like I’ve been reborn! I can fight again!"

But hope was short-lived.

A colossal beast—its maw lined with jagged fangs—lunged from the shadows and bit the soldier’s head clean off.

Blood sprayed.

Panic spread like wildfire.

Another soldier cried out:

"We can’t win! There are too many! We’re doomed!"

Aamir swooped down—claws shredding the beast that had attacked—saving the panicked soldiers nearby.

"No! Don’t lose hope!" Aamir shouted.

"We WILL win! I won’t let you fall!"

He gathered blue flame into his fists—launching a devastating wave of phoenix fire that incinerated dozens of beasts in a single strike.

But for every one they killed—more emerged.

Haider Ali battled a massive Purple Fang Wyvern—its violet scales shimmering with poison.

With a fierce cry—he sliced through its neck, severing its head.

But even he could not ignore the truth.

"Damn it... all categories of beasts are here... he’s created an entire army of them!"

Suddenly—the ground shook violently.

The Apex Tier Dragon began to move.

Its jaws parted—light gathering in its maw.

A searing glow built...

Then—

FWOOSH!

A cataclysmic torrent of flame burst forth—consuming the battlefield.

Aamir’s eyes widened.

"NO!"

He unfurled his wings—shielding nearby soldiers with protective blue flames.

Seenu ignited his own flames—forming a defensive barrier.

Riya, alongside several mages, cast protective wards.

But it wasn’t enough.

Half their forces were caught in the blast—burned to ash in seconds.

The smell of burning flesh choked the air. Cries of agony echoed from the survivors.

Aamir’s eyes widened in horror as he stumbled through the smoke—seeing the charred remains of comrades he had fought beside.

"No... not again... not again..."

Riya reached him first, grabbing his shoulders.

"Aamir! Look at me! You can’t save them all—but we can still save who remains!"

Seenu’s flames roared higher.

"They won’t die in vain. We FIGHT!"

Aamir collapsed to the ground—knees shaking.

"No... no... I failed... I couldn’t save them..."

Tears welled in his eyes.

But then—Haider Ali, chest heaving, his blade scorched from the wyvern he had just slain, stormed through the smoke toward Aamir—eyes blazing.

His voice erupted, cutting through the chaos:

"Aamir! NO!"

"Stand up, boy! Look around you! These men and women still breathe because of YOU!"

Aamir shuddered, fists clenched, tears burning his eyes.

"I failed... I couldn’t—"

Haider Ali grabbed his shoulder with iron strength.

"You listen to me, warrior! You think this is failure?! Every warrior here, every friend standing—they are fighting because YOU inspired them! You flew first, you faced death when others faltered!"

"Do you know what true strength is? It is not winning every battle. It is rising again—when your heart is shattered, when your body is broken, when hope seems lost—and still choosing to fight!"

His voice thundered louder:

"You cannot save everyone—none of us can! But if you fall now—who will lead? Who will give them the hope they need? If you falter—this battlefield turns to a graveyard!"

Haider’s grip tightened.

"I have seen kings fall. I have seen empires crumble. But I have also seen a single warrior’s resolve turn the tide of a hopeless war."

"Be that warrior, Aamir. Not for yourself—but for them. For your friends. For the fallen. For the future that yet breathes."

Haider leaned closer, his words a fierce whisper:

"And remember this, boy—you are never alone. Not now. Not ever."

Aamir’s heart thundered. The grief in his chest loosened—replaced with a slow-burning fire.

Riya knelt beside him, eyes shimmering.

Seenu stood tall, flames dancing in his palms.

Raj, Kunal, Meera—all of them stood, weapons drawn.

"We are with you, Aamir."

"We will fight by your side."

Haider Ali stormed through falling ash and smoke, blood streaked across his face.

"Aamir! NO!"

He seized Aamir by the collar, pulling him to his feet.

"You think this is your failure? FOOL! You think the dead blame you? They fought BECAUSE they had a leader—because YOU stood first!"

Aamir shook his head.

"I couldn’t... stop this—"

"You are NOT a god!" Haider’s voice was thunder itself.

"But gods can be slain by MEN who refuse to give up! And I know this battlefield’s heart—you are it!"

Around them, surviving soldiers looked toward Aamir.

Riya’s voice rang:

"You still have us! And as long as we fight—hope lives!"

Haider thrust a blade into Aamir’s hand.

"Now STAND, warrior. Lead us. One step—then another—until Zorwath falls."

Aamir inhaled deeply—rising to his feet.

His gaze locked onto Zorwath.

And for the first time that day—his voice rang with unshakable resolve:

"I WILL stop you. And I will send you back to whatever hell you came from."
