Chapter 1856: Chapter 287: Miserable
Preaching and demonstrating principles, for Tang Luo, is a very simple task.
How simple? It’s just about speaking out what one thinks, that’s all.
I speak, therefore I believe; I believe, therefore I act; I act, therefore I am; I preach the Way!
As for how much the listeners can understand or gain, that’s beyond the control of the preacher.
Ordinary people consider enlightenment as distress, while Buddha regards distress as enlightenment.
For those with dull aptitude, unthinking rebuttal is a key measure of establishing their sense of existence.
Proving one’s existence is more important than personal progress, so even if a sage preaches, to them it appears full of errors.
As long as one remains stubbornly ignorant, one can always be correct; this is the fundamental manifestation of stupidity.
Therefore, preaching has never been about reaching everyone.
It’s about allowing those worthy to receive, and letting those unworthy ridicule.
After all, the Tao is natural, and hearing it truly is quite unimposing.
Everything follows nature, then why bother practicing martial arts?
While Tang Luo preached on the Feixian Platform, he could actually hear the whispers of many disciples of the Ten Thousand Immortal Sect in the process, but he did not care.
To him, this preaching was merely to reciprocate the courtesy of the Ten Thousand Immortal Sect and Huanglong Immortal Monarch, just a matter of personal relations.
After all, he still needed the sect’s Boundary Masters to continue their hard work, he had to show some convincing sincerity.
But through the disciples’ performance during the sermon, he also understood the root cause of the Ten Thousand Immortal Sect’s decline.
In this Ten Thousand Immortal Mountain domain, the Ten Thousand Immortal Sect is the absolute dominator, unchallenged for millennia. Such a privileged environment breeds arrogance, hindering sincere cultivation.
After completing the preaching and leaving the Feixian Platform, Tang Luo went to the Valley of Ten Thousand Tribulations, silently using his divine vision to guide the Boundary Masters, who were almost there, finally opening the portal to Longyuan Spirit Realm.
Before the Yun Clan disciples inside could shout and attack, Tang Luo rushed into the Spirit Realm first and slammed the door shut.
Desolate, barren, dim—these are the main hues of the current Longyuan Minor Spiritual Realm.
And those emaciated yet intensely fierce Yun Clan disciples, with wolf-like eyes, are gathering from all directions.
From the moment the Spirit Realm portal opened, these people had prepared to fight desperately, and they didn’t intend to survive.
It seems the years of drifting in the void have inflicted immense suffering upon these Yun Clan members. Feeling the hard, barren ground beneath, Tang Luo didn’t want to delve into how these Yun Clan members survived over the years; he just wanted to get them out of here as quickly as possible.
"Is Yun Ji still alive?"
Faced with this group of emaciated Yun Clan members, Tang Luo really couldn’t distinguish identities, so he spoke up, raising his right hand wearing the Immortal Cloud Whisk Soul: "By command of the Yun Clan Head, Yun Clan member Yun Ji, step forward and receive the order."
The Yun Clan members, who thought they were doomed, were momentarily stunned upon seeing the Immortal Cloud Whisk Soul, until a man as skeletal as a skeleton stepped forward.
"Are you Yun Ji?"
Tang Luo, in disbelief, looked at the man before him who was on the brink of death, hastily transmitting a strand of Innate Qi over.
Yun Ji, invigorated by the Innate Qi, remained silent, only extending his hand toward Tang Luo.
At the sight of the skeletal hand in front of him, Tang Luo quickly took off the Immortal Cloud Whisk Soul and handed it over. The latter hurriedly donned the glove, immersed himself to sense deeply, and soon a flush appeared on his face, then he fainted.
The Yun Clan members fussed around him eagerly, but they didn’t surpass a strand of Innate Qi. When Yun Ji woke up, he had already recognized the savior before him.
After all, having a token makes things much easier. What delighted Tang Luo more was that Yun Xiu hadn’t revealed Tang Luo’s true identity.
"May I ask sir, where does Longyuan return to land this time?"
Upon awakening, Yun Ji was concerned with current affairs. It was clear that he was very weak; even after receiving two strands of Innate Qi, he still seemed lacking in vitality.
Though his body was weak, his eyes were exceptionally bright, full of radiant light.
"This is Zhongzhou, in the Ten Thousand Immortal Mountain domain."
Tang Luo calmly replied: "But Yun Ji doesn’t need to worry. Since I’m here, you need not concern yourselves with other matters, I will ensure that all clansmen in the Spirit Realm are taken out safely. For now, rest here, I’ll send in some food from outside."
Hearing there would be food, Yun Ji involuntarily swallowed his saliva, and muttered: "Then... then it’ll be a bother, sir."
"Not at all, just wait a moment."
Understanding the urgency for food among those in the Spirit Realm, Tang Luo wasted no words and left immediately.
Upon exiting, he saw the three village elders, Ten Thousand Immortal Sect Master Guo An Yang, and Dutian Heavenly King Acting Governor An Jingtian, standing in the Valley of Ten Thousand Tribulations, their expressions unfriendly.
It seemed they had been standing for quite a while. Now seeing Tang Luo reappear, their expressions slightly shifted.
"Headmaster, without a word, you sealed the portal. Our sect thought you were going back on your word!"
An Jingtian, the most dissatisfied of them, spoke directly.
"To prevent unnecessary conflict, The Academy entered the Spirit Realm first to pacify the place somewhat."
Tang Luo casually explained the intention of his actions and turned to Guo An Yang: "Also, may I trouble Sect Master Guo. Right now the Spirit Realm is full of ragged, emaciated wounded people. Please provide some supplies for them to have a full meal and clothes to wrap themselves."
"Such is the rightful responsibility; Headmaster need not be courteous."
Even on account of today’s sermon, Guo An Yang would not refuse such a request and immediately arranged for disciples to gather food and clothing.
In a blessed land like the Ten Thousand Immortal Mountain domain, resources are astonishingly abundant; a place where gathering fruits and hunting can sustain hundreds of thousands, food and clothing are hardly considered valuable.
The outer disciples of the Ten Thousand Immortal Sect were carrying large, exaggerated baskets filled with fresh fruit, whose aroma was enticing though its name was unknown, transporting tons into the Spirit Realm.
Only after the first few disciples went in, did they come out with tear-streaked faces.
"It’s too tragic, really too tragic. How can there be such pitiful people in this world? Quick, brothers, hurry, the people inside will die if they don’t eat soon!"
Often, only by witnessing suffering can people understand their True Heart; compassion arises when confronted with the suffering of others.
Yet not everyone experiences such emotions; for example, Acting Governor An Jingtian disapproved of the procrastination.
"Time is tight; they could board the vessel first, then change clothes and eat..."
In the eyes of Acting Governor, it was just a transaction; the Spirit Realm was merely numbers, achieving efficiency was most important.
The envoy only carries out the task, indifferent to earthly suffering, but a cold king’s gaze silenced him, swallowing the rest of his words.
