Chapter 1792: Chapter 225: The King’s Actions

What is the greatest difference between high rank and lower rank?

Is it the abundance of resources, the strength of power, the depth of wisdom, or merely a different perspective on things?

The reality that determines your ultimate trajectory has never been the external conditions. This is the key reason why people with the same background and resources can achieve vastly different outcomes.

While the entire Longzhou was immersed in the ecstasy of a new king emerging, sects did not stop speculating about the identity of this new king, even for a moment.

Human kings in the world are indeed few. Even if their names are unfamiliar to most prominent clans, on certain levels, they are as thunderous as the heavens themselves.

Once, Dutian Heavenly King organized a list known as the Heavenly List, recording the names and origins of all the supreme figures in Xiehe.

To ascend this list, not only does one need extraordinary talent and achievements but, more importantly, the potential within the King Realm.

After all, Cao Jinyu is recognized throughout Xiehe for his discerning eye. Those warriors he deemed worthy often went on to achieve greatness, coupled with the pervasive intelligence network of Dutian Heavenly King, making this Heavenly List of Xiehe’s elites highly credible.

But what most people don’t know is that the Heavenly List is divided into Yin and Yang volumes. What sects can browse, mostly, is the Yang volume—those powerful figures whose bloodline abilities have already been unveiled.

The other volume, however, records individuals without bloodlines but who have the potential to attain enlightenment and be crowned as kings.

Yet the individuals in this volume are too uncertain, so much so that even intelligence organizations like Dutian Heavenly King’s find it impossible to confirm their prospects. Thus, few people are aware of it.

Even so, Dutian Heavenly King’s two-volume Heavenly List remains the most comprehensive compilation of Xiehe’s elites.

No matter how sects scrutinized the list, flipping through individuals from twenty, even thirty years ago and comparing them one by one, none could trace the lineage of this new king of Red Cloud.

As for Longzhou’s folk casually attributing the new king of Red Cloud to the Xu Clan of Yuanzhou, they scoffed at such a claim.

Be it the swordsmen of the Xu Clan or those eccentric beings who unleash their bloodline powers to their highest limits, every one of them is so conceited they might as well have their noses pointed at the sky.

The phrases they say most often are usually: ’I have cultivated the unrivaled divine arts of this world, and who knows when I’ll find a worthy successor.’

Or: ’The world is filled with fools, failing to comprehend my supreme sword techniques—all a bunch of good-for-nothings.’

Who would have thought that those Xu Clan warriors, who built their reputation on the Unmatched Sword Canon, would ultimately walk down such a solitary path?

Teaching a particular sword intent might be within their capabilities, but cultivating foundational essence or guiding ordinary disciples to condense their souls? That is certainly not something Xu Clan warriors would do—much less so if they were kings!

But if viewed from this perspective, the origins of this king of Red Cloud Mountain become exceedingly intriguing.

Xiehe has its fair share of wandering masters and several renowned grandmasters, but when it comes to unknown or hidden kings, their numbers aren’t particularly large.

Among them, the most famous are the nameless saint who once slew Cao Jinyu at Yinghuo, and the King of the Blood Sea from the Ancient Blood Tower who vanished without a trace.

But when compared to Unparalleled City’s warrior and the energy he showcased during the Red Cloud Mountain affair, the disparity between him and these two figures is far too significant.

To wipe away tens of thousands of soul marks within dozens of miles in an instant—that level of mastery over marking techniques has only been seen on the Buddha Lord and Great Zen Masters of Buddha’s Country. Otherwise, examples are scarce.

People are always curious about newly emerging phenomena, especially those who long proclaimed themselves to master most of Xiehe’s intelligence—such as Zhongzhou’s superior Heavenly Sect.

Dozens of envoys, bearing their missions and preparing gifts, are en route to Red Cloud. Their purpose is singular.

Just like how the fastest way for lower-ranked martial artists to gain fame is through thunderous battles, masters and Human Kings must garner acclaim across all Xiehe once they ascend to the peak of cultivation. Their goal is simple: to acquire resources.

After all, upon reaching the King Realm, many of the required resources are rare treasures, mostly monopolized by heavenly sects and sanctuaries.

When faced with need, one must find ways to obtain such resources—even if, for sects and sanctuaries, making life difficult for a king over a few resources is unnecessary.

But simply handing over resources? Even the most resource-laden sects and sanctuaries would never willingly act so generously.

Thus, a more civilized method was born!

"Teaching the way?"

Among the clouds, Yun Xiu covered her small mouth in disbelief: "Husband is going to the Medicine God Sect to teach the way?!"

"Not only must I teach, but I must teach so well that disciples all across the Medicine God Sect are utterly convinced and mesmerized."

Tang Luo responded with a laugh.

"Is that the exchange condition the Medicine God Sect won’t refuse?"

Though Yun Xiu did not grasp much about sect operations, from the perspective of trade, she still found the idea somewhat inadequate: "That sounds a bit insufficient."

"Of course it’s insufficient. Teaching the way is merely the formal gesture of visiting the Medicine God Sect."

Tang Luo placed his hands on his hips and exclaimed, "If I can’t challenge them directly, I’ll need to demonstrate my strength in other ways. Otherwise, how would the Medicine God Sect understand your husband’s grandeur?"

"Husband is amazing!"

Her brows arched into crescents, and she smiled sweetly as she praised him.

"As expected!"

...

Undying World, Medicine God Sect

In the Medicine King Hall atop Suspending Pot Peak, elders of the seventy-two peaks were gathered for a current research meeting of the sect. Meanwhile, another far fiercer dialogue unfolded in the lower peaks.

Martial arts have never been the pursuit of the Medicine God Sect, making it one of the sects with the fewest masters among Zhongzhou’s superior Heavenly Sects.

But "few" is relative—depending on whom they are compared with. If measured against Zhongzhou’s superior Heavenly Sect, Medicine God Sect’s combat prowess may indeed seem insufficient.

However, broaden the scope to all of Xiehe, and few sects dare to claim the Medicine God Sect’s strength is lacking.

Though strength isn’t entirely built upon resources, with sufficient resources, even those with common bloodline abilities can achieve extraordinary feats.

Bloodlines like Wood Spirit Body, Fire Spirit Body, and Poison Spirit Body—if sufficiently cultivated—can yield formidable power.

Of the seventy-two peaks of the Medicine God Sect, it may be an exaggeration to claim each peak could produce a grandmaster, but saying half of them could is no boast.

Currently, more than twenty non-reclusive grandmasters have gathered to scrutinize intelligence procured from Dutian Heavenly King’s network.
