Chapter 979 - 979 500 Secret Martial Arts World Number One (4000)_2
Chapter 979: 500 Secret Martial Arts World Number One (4000)_2 Chapter 979: 500 Secret Martial Arts World Number One (4000)_2 At first, the Magic Phoenix was only the size of a human. As it flapped its wings and danced through the air, it began to expand rapidly. In just two or three blinks, the Magic Phoenix had grown into a colossal being, on par with the blue whale that Whale King Arlington had once transformed his Qi into. And still, it grew, increasing in size! A few more blinks, and it was five times larger than the whale. Pillars of blood-red burst from the body of the Magic Phoenix, connecting it to the Devil’s Flame Phoenix in the sky—this was the vast and powerful Qi it possessed.
It seemed the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix was far more formidable than Whale King Arlington!
“Go!”
He lifted his hand and pointed, signaling the Demon Flame Phoenix to intercept and collide with Casio.
Boom! The massive wings of the Magic Phoenix enveloped the sky as they beat, conjuring violent gales. The enormous creature dived, as if an entire mountain range was pressing down.
The onrushing Casio’s gaze flickered ever so slightly, seemingly intimidated by the astonishing might of the Magic Phoenix for a split second. But quickly, his left and right eyes spat out blood-red and violet light respectively, void of human emotion.
He became a detached, terrible, absolute killing machine.
Bang bang bang bang bang bang!
The heavy cloud layer in the sky was swept aside by the furious airstream, revealing the azure dome above. Whether looking down from above or gazing up from the ground,
one could see a scene like a flash flood. A purple-red waterfall surged down, bringing with it lethal destruction as it hit the Magic Phoenix.
Instantly, the clash of Sonic Fang, a form of Extreme Power, and the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix’s Qi caused a series of violent explosions that shook the heavens.
Boom boom boom!
The colossal Magic Phoenix, as if bathing under a waterfall, displayed its majestic body, vast wings, and the flames that would never extinguish.
An even match?
In mid-air, Casio, with his robust and sinewy right arm, nonchalantly faced the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix. Behind him, the hem of his trench coat was frayed, as if scorched by flames.
A smile suddenly appeared on his usually cold face.
Slightly mocking.
His Qi had reached the pinnacle just beneath the Holy Fist, yet his will had not embarked on any of the paths of Holy Fist, Tyrant Fist, or Polar Fist. How peculiar…
Is it unwillingness? Or incapability?
The overwhelming presence of the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix did indeed startle Casio at the beginning, its volume of Qi even surpassing his—him being an adept of the three supreme Secret Martial Arts. However, its quality was only mediocre.
No, it should be said that as an Ultimate Fighter who hadn’t found his own path and had cultivated up to the bottleneck just below the Saint Fist, his level was normal. Even though the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix’s Qi had pushed far beyond that of Whale King Arlington, its level of concentration and resilience was still slightly lacking in comparison. That is the disparity between Ultimate Fighters: whether domineering, extreme, or divine, the Qi under those wills is evidently much stronger. And the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix’s was just ordinary.
Despite being an Ultimate Fighter for over a decade and having touched the bottleneck just below the Saint Fist, he hadn’t embroached on any of the three paths—quite the rarity. He relied solely on the quantity of his Qi to triumph.
Once Casio understood this, his caution vanished completely. The layer of force within his body meant for defense also roared out, unleashing in full.
Boom boom boom boom!
The Magic Phoenix, as imposing as a mountain, cried out in pain, its surface flames—which seemed eternal—dulled and began to extinguish. The purple-red torrent was unstoppable, shattering half of the Magic Phoenix’s body under the astonished gaze of the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix, then whirling around to engulf him completely!
Whoosh! Bang!
The silhouette of the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix was suppressed by the waterfall, tracing a long parabola before crashing onto a mountaintop. With a thunderous roar, the mountain peak was smashed to pieces, chunks of rock the size of houses collapsed and tumbled from the cliff face. However, before they reached the summit, they were disintegrated in mid-air into dust-sized particles by the countless Sonic Fangs.
From a distance, it appeared as if a hole had opened within the thick white cloud layer. Through the hole, the waters from the heavens poured down, forming a purple-red river that enveloped the entire mountain in explosive air.
The magnificent river was both beautiful and dangerous, dotted with fine specks that looked like glass, or amber, shining like shattered gold.
Large swathes of the mountain forest were reduced to ash, the soil scoured and plowed clean.
At the mountain peak, the Holy Fist Magic Phoenix was wholly enshrouded in black and red feathers, curled up into a ball, enduring the terrifying assault of the Sonic Fangs.
Half of his body was riddled with dense cracks, like a ceramic figure that had been dropped on the ground, at risk of disintegrating at any moment. The Demon Flame Phoenix’s Saint Fist was indeed more powerful than Whale King Arlington, but only marginally so, superior by just a few minor stages, not the kind of vast chasm that was insurmountable.
If he had truly embarked on the path of the Saint Fist and reached the bottleneck just beneath the Saint Fist in his cultivation. In this battle, Casio didn’t even dare to claim certain victory. Of course, this didn’t mean he would lose, but rather, it suggested that the opponent might be able to draw or retreat calmly. It was one of those situations where neither could do anything to the other, where Casio might be stronger, but not able to take out his foe.
******************************
Bang! Bang! Bang! The mountains were shattering, the ground was sinking!
Casio’s punch, though called a single punch, was in fact the unreserved howling of two kinds of Southern Dou’s Power erupting from his body. When the Southern Dou’s Power was exhausted, that’s when the punch would cease. The Demon Flame Phoenix’s Saint Fist was barely holding on.
Beneath the space propped up by the Blood Pheonix’s wings, the exquisitely fair face of the Demon Flame Phoenix’s Saint Fist contorted, teeth gritted, somewhat ferocious. All he needed was to glide and accelerate a few more times to escape Casio’s pursuit. Yet, a critical misstep had occurred, and he was actually left behind by that punch.
“He just fought Whale King Arlington and didn’t use his full strength…”
A thought flashed through the mind of the Demon Flame Phoenix’s Saint Fist. The next second, his face turned deathly pale. The Blood Phoenix feathers on his back began to crack and shatter.
It seemed like he could no longer withstand the barrage of Sonic Fang’s waterfall.
“Damn it!”
He glanced at the terrifying silhouette in the sky, then at the golden ring in his right hand. With a mix of dread and reluctance, he pressed the ring tightly to his forehead, and the fragments of the door in his mind resonated with a resounding echo.
Hum… Hum… Hum…
Crack… Crack… Crack…
A breaking sound emerged. Had the door shattered? Had it opened?
Woo… Woo… Woo…
An otherworldly wail rose from the depths of the world, like a giant whale surfacing from the deep sea, the sound growing clearer and clearer.
Whoosh!
An ethereal portal appeared beneath the cascade of Casio’s Sonic Fang Power. The portal’s destination was unknown, hazy and illusory like a mirage. The frame of the door was adorned with patterns resembling religious reliefs.
“Crack… Crack… Crack…”
Both wings on the back of the Demon Flame Phoenix’s Saint Fist were on the verge of utter destruction.
He had thought that as the individual with the greatest qi beneath the Saint Fist, even with the burden of carrying Whale King Arlington on one hand, he could still utilize his unparalleled speed to elude and mock Casio. However, events had spiraled into an uncontrollable and perilous situation in a short amount of time, teetering on the edge of death.
Sensing the imminent descent of the Sonic Fang waterfall,
he screamed towards the archway, “Xiadu! Save me!!”
Ding!!!
In that moment, an eerie silence descended upon the world; even the air seemed to solidify. Rocks stopped rolling, leaves stopped rustling. The entire heaven and earth were blurring and fading, like an oil painting losing its color.
With a click, the gate was opened.
A jade-white hand, slender and beautiful, rested on the frame.
However, this seemingly pristine hand carried a profound darkness, an evilness that seemed to lurk beneath the exquisite skin. It was as if beneath that delicate exterior lay the most profound malice.
Creak…
The portal swung wide open, and a figure shrouded in a black robe slowly stepped out. For a moment, even the blazing sunlight seemed to dim.
The man was like a black hole that devoured light, absorbing everyone’s gaze and plunging it into the abyss. Merely standing there silently, one could naturally feel he was the source of sin, the executor of evil, the will of nightmares. With an indomitably irresistible force, he struck terror into the hearts of all.
