Chapter 893: 462 By the order of Lord Blood Fist! (4000) Chapter 893: 462 By the order of Lord Blood Fist! (4000) The third floor of the Treasure Vault, within the enclosed space.
Casio’s gaze subtly swept over the bronze key as he moved his footsteps to the right. His pace was neither rushed nor slow, resembling a collector selecting antiques, pausing to carefully observe any items of interest. It wasn’t until half an hour later that Casio halted in front of the first item on the left. His gaze slowly drifting, he extended his hand to pick it up.
The first sensation was cold, like metal stored in an ice cellar. The second was its heavy weight, which, of course, referred to the key feeling unusually heavy for its relatively small size. He spread his palm open, and the skin instantly felt streams of cold emanating from the key. The bronze key radiated waves of chilling cold.
Casio slightly lowered his head, quickly scanning the key’s overall shape.
The end was a ring about the size of an eyeball, from which a bronze shank the length of a middle finger extended. One side of the shank branched into three curved bars, while there were two branches on the other side. At a glance, it resembled a mini bronze tree. Or perhaps some kind of exotic, grotesque metal claw.
It was somewhat reminiscent of a bird? Hook-like claws…
Casio turned it over in his hands for a while and finally clenched it firmly.
“This one,” he said to the Chief Inspector of the Black Mechanism in the distance.
The Chief Inspector of the Black Mechanism nodded, his gaze sweeping over the bronze key in Casio’s palm without much interest. He turned and led Casio out of the Treasure Vault.
Tap tap tap…
A series of approaching footsteps echoed from the stairs of the Underground Passage.
Soon, two silhouettes left the Treasure Vault, standing on the brick and stone clearing. The weather was clear today, a vast expanse of azure overhead. At the edge of the sky, occasionally, strands of pure white clouds fluttered like gauze.
On the secluded road, Casio and the Chief Inspector of the Black Mechanism walked toward the Headquarters building. Five minutes later, they were in the Chief Inspector’s office.
Casio sat on a soft brown sofa, half of his body covered by bright sunlight streaming in from the floor-to-ceiling window, the resulting shadow outlining his figure more imposingly and powerfully, giving off a sense of oppression.
In front of him was a coffee table with a cup of aromatic black tea on it.
Footsteps sounded from outside the door, and shortly after, a silhouette entered the office. It was Thomas, the Assistant of the Chief Inspector of the Black Mechanism who had once accompanied Casio on his first visit to the Clinic, holding a document in his hand. The tan-colored hard paper was sealed with a white band, marked with two red characters.
“Confidential.”
Thomas walked over, sat opposite Casio, and gently placed the document on Casio’s right-hand side, even thoughtfully turning the document face up.
“Would you like some hot Milk?”
As Thomas looked at the steaming black tea, he asked.
“No need, I don’t really like sweetness,” Casio responded, immediately beginning to open the Document.
Thomas turned and left, heading to another room to fetch hot Milk. The Chief Inspector of the Black Mechanism was busy with paperwork at his Office Desk, which also had a cup of black tea on it. Thomas naturally continued his usual duties.
With a sound of tearing paper, the document was opened.
Casio, with an expressionless face, flipped through the pages one by one, rustling.
The sun outside was making the paper somewhat white and hot.
“Aha,” after turning over the last page, Casio looked up.
“Interesting, the Lunar Eclipse Meeting in the eastern part of the Empire uses the Blood Moon potion at least five to six times more frequently than the first Branch in the north. That means they’re able to use it on a regular basis now, and in such large quantities. Is the source of the Door Organization’s goods located in the East of the Empire? Is that their potion production base, or are these potions all imported from abroad, and it’s just that the East Coast’s maritime trade is booming, so it radiates from the east…”
He spoke slowly, his gaze distantly fixed on the Chief Inspector of the Black Mechanism.
“It’s possible…” the Chief Inspector put down the Feather Pen he was using to revise documents, looked up, and said, “If the Door Organization does have such a potion production facility, then it most likely would indeed be in the eastern region…”
“I see,” Casio nodded, his gaze deepening. After contemplating for a moment, he added, “Does the Lunar Eclipse Meeting in the East have overt connections with the Door Organization? For instance, members of the Door Organization having frequent contact with the Lunar Eclipse Meeting. Or perhaps, the two sides have conducted some joint operations…”
“Yes. The county where the Lunar Eclipse Meeting Headquarters is located has seen frequent appearances of Door Organization members. Moreover, some members of the Door Organization don’t seem to be from our Hong Li Empire, but rather from the ethnic groups of the South Reef Continent.”
The Chief Inspector was well-informed about the matter.
After listening, Casio nodded, his mind already formulating a hypothesis.
The Lunar Eclipse Meeting was likely one of the pawns for the Door Organization, as well as an experimental subject, a henchman. This was similar to the Blood Spirit Association Casio had encountered before, except that the Lunar Eclipse Meeting had a much larger Force and was more valuable. Moreover, the potion developed in cooperation between the Door Organization and the Lunar Eclipse Meeting was called the Blood Moon potion. Was it indirectly referring to the Lunar Eclipse Meeting’s Hidden Card, the Moon God statue, and the fallen Moon God? Casio always felt that the Door Organization was planning something, and even their cooperation with the Lunar Eclipse Meeting might not be simple, not solely for experimentation.
After mulling over it, Casio personally felt that what warranted the Door Organization’s attention about the Lunar Eclipse Meeting was probably only the Hidden Card Moon God statue and the Moon God’s flesh.
With insufficient information, that’s all he could surmise.
The rest would have to wait until he traveled to the southeastern counties of the Empire to investigate in person. Casio’s thoughts raced as he took a sip of the black tea.
