Chapter 850: 442 Overwhelming Fury (4000) Chapter 850: 442 Overwhelming Fury (4000) Whoosh…
The dead silence was replaced by a burst of colorful brilliance. Suddenly, after the fierce explosion, sound returned.
Thick cloud layers in the sky were swept apart by the violent air currents, revealing a blue dome above. If one were to look down from above, they would see a scene like a mountain flood bursting forth. A purple-red waterfall flowed down, forming a vast fan shape. Narrow at the source, the area widened as it fell!
On the southern side of the mountain peak, covered in a green carpet of woods, a purple-red blotch had suddenly appeared, occupying a large part of the area. The blotch shone with a beautiful yet dangerous color in the sunlight, like glass, like amber.
It was like fine gold, carrying a pure but deadly lure.
The vast mountain forest that had grown there, spanning who knows how many hectares, was instantly gone in a cloud of ash, devoured by the purple-red waterfall, violently decomposing.
One could vaguely make out a ring of mist in the green hue of rime drifting at the top of the mountain. Sparse and floating away into the distance. That, in fact, was what remained of the green leaves and tree crowns after decomposition, completely merging into the air.
“Run for your lives!!!”
Aaron, who had just climbed off the ground, felt his heart pounding wildly, as if a large hand had tightly grabbed hold of his heart inside his chest, almost suffocating him. His eyes wide with terror, he looked at the approaching torrent of force and his skin prickled with sweat. Without hesitation, Aaron ran like mad down the mountain. His footsteps had a unique and swift rhythm, touching the ground only with the tips of his toes. This was evidently the fencing step of the Silver Thistle Rapier lineage, used only at the brink of life and death. It was meant for instantly activating the leg muscles, giving them three hundred percent vitality, to provide terrifying bursts of speed.
This technique was originally meant for nimble maneuvers in close quarters combat, erupting with killing prowess. Now, Aaron was using it to flee. Just to increase the speed at which his legs could run, to get further away from that nearly all-consuming purple-red torrent! He raced through the woods, his Silver Thistle Rapier already drawn. Held tightly in his hand, it struck continuously.
Not to attack an enemy, but to cut through any obstructing branches, leaves, and boulders in his path. Whoosh! The shiny and sharp rapier sliced through the air, touching a blue stone the size of a half-person. The millstone-like stone exploded on the spot, shattering into pieces, with stone powder and dust raining down.
An agile silhouette, stepping with the elegant poise of an aristocrat’s rapier step. Covered in sweat, pale-faced, panting and on the run. Aaron could not understand for the life of him how even watching a battle put his life at risk?
And that was two kilometers away!!!
He felt somewhat unlucky, having laboriously tracked that suspicious silhouette all the way from Florence to Rika City. And before he even had the chance to start his investigation, to accumulate merit, he saw a group of monsters from god knows where, fighting inexplicably. Each one was unfathomably strong, almost like a group of Hunters Association chiefs and Holy Light Hunters brawling.
Aaron was so scared by the terrible aftermath that he dared not get too close, even unable to clearly see the figures engaged in combat. Which forces did they belong to? Were they male or female? Human or non-human? He knew nothing at all. Such intelligence had no bird’s value! So Aaron was quite frustrated as he ran, his only choice now to return and report. To speedily inform the Black Mechanism Chief!
Whoosh, at the mountain foot, a silhouette burst out of the woods and fled into the distance.
Above the mountain, in the center of the battlefield, the intense colliding soundwaves had disappeared. Only the sound of falling debris like raindrops remained.
On a smooth ground, nearly large enough to encompass a basketball court, a deep pit was emitting black smoke. Inside it seemed to be an energy as searing as magma, baking the hot air to distortion.
Through the swirling smoke, a tall and upright silhouette still stood there.
One hand was raised flat forward, palm in a grappling dragon claw gesture.
With a whoosh, a gust of high-pressure cold wind blew in from afar, sweeping away most of the smoke. Casio’s silhouette was revealed.
His cape was tattered, the ends still scorched by flames. With a leaping red, it fluttered wildly. Casio’s muscular and powerful right arm was stretched far toward the distance, with crisscrossing blood-soaked cracks on the distinctly featured bulging muscles. Especially the palm, where flesh had completely fallen away to reveal a white skeleton, creating a harsh mechanical feel.
Directly in front, the ground was concaved, as if truly plowed into a riverbed by the Southern Dipper’s Extreme Power. In the riverbed, within the terrifying purple-red Sonic Fang, two skeletons floated and spun quietly.
The Hurricane Wizard and the Beast Wizard were dead, cleanly and decisively, without dragging things out. In this state of full commitment, if you were outmatched in strength, you were simply outmatched; if you could not keep up with the lethality, you just couldn’t keep up! There was no luck involved, no room to maneuver; defeat meant facing death head-on.
They were unlucky. Indeed, the two were among the top Great Wizards of the Totem Temple, absolute strongmen wherever they went. Yet, their target was Casio, one of the top fighters under the Saint Fist.
In an era, such warriors might only number a handful.
But they were also lucky. For the two died under Casio’s Hidden Card Extreme Power Sonic Fang, the Hurricane and Beast Wizards could be proud.
Only a strongman taken seriously would get to experience this technique.
Above the battlefield, two silhouettes were rapidly moving and fighting. One was the North King, covered by a Snow Giant Bear, and the other was the Totem Evil Mother with six arms in action. One was trying to escape, the other trying to prevent escape. Both possessing the rare strength of top fighters, they were evenly matched for the moment, entangled and brawling.
