Chapter 779 - 779 407 Bronze Giant Statue and Withered Old Man

Chapter 779: 407 Bronze Giant Statue and Withered Old Man (4000)_2 Chapter 779: 407 Bronze Giant Statue and Withered Old Man (4000)_2 “That hunter called Bai Kui is not simple, even Solomon entangled in thorns is likely no match for him. There were rumors before that he had clashed with the Lion King, Soss, and with one blow, he managed to strike him down in physical combat. Added to that, last night alone, he hunted hundreds of dark creatures across three districts of Florence. This Bai Kui is probably the most powerful individual below the shadow hunters who are at the fighter level. He may even have the strength equivalent to that of a fighter…”

“This youngster has been cultivated by the elder hunters. He has likely been trained since he was a child, his strength hidden until the competition for the position of Shadow Hunter began. If there are no unexpected events, he will likely become the fifth Shadow Hunter…” The gaze of Candle Soul became increasingly profound.

“Without eliminating Bai Kui, Solomon will essentially have no chance at becoming a Shadow Hunter, nor will he have the opportunity to see the Holy Spring Source. Furthermore, Bai Kui has taken the Tear of Blue Eye from those corpses, it is likely he has discovered something. If he reports this to the Dark Hunt Organization, we’ll run into serious trouble. So you have no other choice but to take him out.”

Yangyan didn’t deny it, but his eyes brimmed with killing intent. His test subjects from a year’s worth of experiments were wiped out overnight. Not even the specific data were recovered, equating to a year’s wasted effort. How could Yangyan not be angered? Among the entire organization in Florence, there were only himself and Candle Soul. Candle Soul was currently dealing with some members of the Royal Parliament and monitoring the situation, leaving himself as the best option to act.

“Okay.” He nodded.

“I will help you draw him out of the Dark Hunt Organization’s headquarters. I might even be able to lure him out of Florence. Everything else will be left up to you…”

Candle Soul spoke after contemplation.

“If it happens outside the city, I’ll bring along some of the latest subjects from my recent experiments to test their effectiveness. He seems to enjoy killing dark creatures, so let’s see how he handles an overwhelming number. Heh… The four newest subjects I’ve been working with are exceptionally fierce. Just be sure he’s not already torn to pieces and eaten before you get to him…” Yangyan curled his lips into a smile.

In their judgement, according to the divisions in the Secret Martial Arts World.

The strength that Casio has shown at this point is estimated to be around the peak level of a martial artist and the level of a newly advanced fighter, which means the threshold of the organization. To Yangyan and Candle Soul, who have been members of the organization for decades, this isn’t significant. Yangyan possesses strength close to the pinnacle of fighters.

Even in the Hunters Association, there are only a scarce few who could compare.

In the jail, under the purple light, Yangyan and Candle Soul observed for a while and then proceeded towards another important place in the experimental field. This was the key location, the Transformation Pool of Dark Creatures.

Here, staff dressed in white coats were busy moving around. Various counters were scattered around, the surfaces holding various glass containers, distilling instruments, metal tools, and so forth. There were also dark creature organs and various strange herbs and minerals preserved in the liquid within glass vials. Some looked as if they were not even from the real world.

“Whoo, whoo, whoo…”

On one side of the corridor, a tramp with messy hair was brought forth, bound and gagged. His eyes filled with fear as he tried to struggle, but to no avail and he was carried directly to the conversion pool, bound with shackles to an iron bed. His neck, hands, feet, waist; all were restrained.

Yangyan and Candle Soul walked over and stood outside the conversion pool.

The staff nearby instantly quickened their movements. They first filled the pool with an unknown liquid, similar to mucus and exuding a pungent smell like formalin. Then, they added a variety of prepared mineral powders and strange herbs.

Within a few moments, the entire pool of liquid had turned to a dark yellow, like amber. The tramp was completely submerged, except for the part of him above the nose and mouth, as the upper part of the iron bed was inclined. At this moment, he stopped struggling and only looked around in fear.

The staff members continued to operate, and the entire bottom of the transformation pool suddenly lit up, emitting a faint blue light. Upon closer inspection, it was found that the surface of the conversion pool was studded with countless Tears of Blue Eyes. These tools, resembling human eyes, rotated back and forth, mysteriously unnerving.

Followed by that, a staff member carefully took out an ancient stone tablet.

Considerably antiquated, it looked like a product of the ancient times, its surface rough and riddled with scratches. A large string of blurred text was inscribed on the back of the tablet, as if recording something. On the front, however, was a palm-sized engraving of a huge eye, the lines of which are rough and brutal. At the very center of the eye, instead of a pupil, there was a delicate spiral pattern.

It looked like a profound vortex.

The staff put the stone tablet face down and threw it directly into the conversion pool.

Surprisingly, the stone tablet did not fall down, but was hoisted up by an inexplicable force and rotated mid-air. Looking down at the water in the pool, it was found that the light from each Tear of Blue Eye was focused there. Strands of blue light pierced through the amber-colored pool water and gathered at the eyeball pattern.

The fist-sized eye pattern was as if it had been activated.

Gradually it stopped rotating and found the correct position. It floated all the way to a meter above the tramp’s head, and traces of blood began to ooze out from the gaps in the pattern, winding around until the entire pattern was dyed red.

In a fleeting moment, the vortex in the eye’s pupil began to rotate rapidly, and the color became darker. As though the entire space of the stone tablet had collapsed, a low humming sound resonated, making everyone present feel a brief leap in their consciousness. As if one space had successfully connected with another space.

Yangyan and Candle Soul both stared sharply towards the stone tablet.

It seemed like a view into another space where the entire land was covered in layers of a black substance as dense as sludge. On top of this liquid substance, numerous flesh tumors protruded densely, with no end in sight. Occasionally, a tumor would twitch, the black membrane would shatter, and a terrifying grotesque exotic species would crawl out and fly away, beating its wings.

The stone tablet was like a mirror, an invisible eye, floating towards the depths of the black fluid carpet. As they delved deeper, the exotic species became more terrifying, more ferocious, gradually becoming indescribable. Until a certain boundary, these species suddenly disappeared as if vanished into thin air. The view ahead reverted back to the layered black fluid carpet. As they continued forward, there stood a small mountain between the heaven and earth.

Upon a closer look, that wasn’t a mountain, but an incomparably massive dark creature. It appeared to be a giant stone ghost with a bronze-colored body surface covered in various dense patterns, forming numerous small runes. These runes were based on the totems that amassed into this massive body. At the place where it stood, the black carpet was eroded by the totem, like a dense spider web spreading outwards.

However, the spread was halted midway by a scarlet crack. These cracks seemed to be jagged teeth, covering the surface of the black fluid, like boiling magma spreading across half of the region.

In the center of this region, an elder man sat cross-legged. He was as silent as a dried-up corpse, his head drooping and one hand on the ground. A thick scarlet, like a tide, gushed towards all directions. His body was covered in cracks, but 66 red stars twinkled amidst the dim light of extinction.

The bronze giant statue and the withered elder man seemed to have standoff against each other in this black land for who knows how long. In the center, there was a deep, inwardly concave hole, from which black mud gushed ceaselessly.

The shape and depth of this hole, the radial cracks surrounding it.

It seemed as though it was created by the impact of a meteorite…
