Chapter 732 - 732 385 Undying Wraith (4000)_1
Chapter 732: 385 Undying Wraith (4000)_1 Chapter 732: 385 Undying Wraith (4000)_1 The Ghost Man, upon hearing the name of the power behind the Shadow Stab Organization, did not feel a shred of fear. To an average person, the Imperial Royal Family of the Hong Li Empire was undoubtedly an imposing entity. But for the Markers of Black Rain Villa, it was nothing more than a decoration. Even more so considering the Ghost Man was a top tier Knight Rank, with strength equivalent to a Fighter. Even the prime royal family before the revolution, let alone the now decadent royal family, held no fear for the Ghost Man. He was not scared of an unseen vengeance.
Under the shadows of the high wall, the Ghost Man donned a black cloak, as if he wanted to perfectly blend into the darkness. His right hand held a scythe, its sharp tip slowly dripping blood. With a slight tremble, the drops were repelled by a force, and the blade of the scythe returned to its silver-black sleek surface.
The sunlight shone on the tip of the scythe, flickering with a white light.
Zing…
The enormous scythe subtly swayed, completely disappearing into the shadow.
Half an hour later, at the headquarters of the Shadow Stab Organization.
Upon the return of an assassin who completed his kill, all he could see upon entering the headquarters were mutilated corpses scattered in the courtyard. Splatters of black and red blood covered every corner, on the walls, trees, and floor. Most of it had congealed into a thin layer within the trenches.
The pungent smell of blood was incredibly strong, even seasoned killers felt it unbearable. They cautiously navigated through the courtyard.
Those assassins who had made a name for themselves within the Shadow Stab Organization were strewn everywhere. Occasionally, one could even see a top-ranked Gold Medal Assassin among the dead. Their heads severed, their faces drenched in blood. Yet the twisted expressions of unwillingness and terrified eyes were still visible. It seemed as if these Gold Medal Assassins had witnessed some unimaginable horror before their death.
The returning assassin noted this as he pushed forward, eventually discovering the leader of the Shadow Stab Organization dead in a corner. That mighty cold man was now lying misshapen on the ground, flesh and blood blurred. His hand gripped the gap between the floor bricks, nails digging deeply into them, as if he had suffered enormous torment before death. His surroundings were covered in blood from his struggle.
The assassin understood everything upon seeing this scene.
The top-tier assassin organization in Florence, the Shadow Stab had been utterly destroyed!
Another half hour went by, Florence, third district.
Gary, an underling of Lion King Soss, looked incredulous. He asked the man in front of him, who came to report the news, to repeat it.
“The Shadow Stab Organization’s headquarters was attacked last night, all assassins stationed at the headquarters were killed. This includes six Gold Medal Assassins, and the leader of the Shadow Stab Organization.” With a stammering tone, the man repeated his report. He was clearly shocked, sipping water from time to time.
“The Shadow Stab Organization… is finished?!”
Gary still couldn’t believe it. He shook his head, slumped on the sofa, and poured himself a glass of water, taking a moment to catch his breath.
“Is this… related to what happened last night?”
Gary couldn’t help but connect the two incidents. Last night he had issued an assassination contract on the hunter Bai Kui to the Shadow Stab. But they failed.
Moreover, the Shadow Wolf exploded in front of him, nearly scaring him to death.
The failed assassination attempt last night involving the Gold Medal Assassin, then this morning, the utter destruction of Shadow Stab’s headquarters. To say the events were unrelated, Gary wouldn’t believe it himself. He suddenly had a strong sense of crisis. As the point of contact for the contract, he felt he might be the next target! Soss was a member of the Royal Family, strong in his own right, protected and backed by forces. Even if he was discovered, he would likely be fine.
But not him. He was merely someone doing jobs for the others, a dog for the Royal Family to speak bluntly, a loyal dog.
The mysterious power that destroyed the Shadow Stab would fear the Royal Family, but certainly not him. If they followed the trail back to him, he was afraid…
When he thought of that terrifying outcome, Gary shivered uncontrollably. His hair stood on end, and his heart thudded wildly in his chest.
“I can’t stay here! I need to go to Soss, it’s safer near him!” Gary downed the cold water in one gulp and stood up abruptly.
Then, thud! He knelt down, his knees hitting the floor.
A scythe, about the height of a man, was pressed against his shoulder. The weight was akin to a mountain, forcing Gary to kneel. The cold, sharp sensation on his neck along with the smell of blood from the blade made him shiver uncontrollably. He swallowed, barely raising his head to see.
A tall figure in a heavy black cloak stood quietly opposite him.
He held the giant scythe with his right hand, pressing it against Gary’s shoulder. His left hand gripped the face of one of Gary’s men, lifting him into mid-air with ease.
Despite the man’s struggles, he could do nothing to break free.
“So, you are the client from last night’s operation, correct?”
From under the cold mask, a deep, hoarse voice rang out.
“Yes… Yes, sir.”
Gary lowered his head, not daring to look into the fearful eyes under the mask.
Another half hour passed, it was now past eight in the morning.
The sun was now completely high in the sky, its half face covered by rolling white clouds while the other half emitted light and heat, illuminating the clear blue sky. Florence, the giant city, began its operations anew. In residential and commercial districts alike, crowds flowed like an endless river.
