Chapter 527: 291 Rush in directly (4000)_2 Chapter 527: 291 Rush in directly (4000)_2 “…”

Wiping a handful of murky, earthy soil off his head, Casio took a deep breath and quickly walked towards the open plaza.

There was not much clutter on the square, basically, it had been cleaned up in the afternoon. Only a few police cars parked in the corner, and some unlucky cops still working at night.

Whirr, whirr, whirr…

A police car drove in quickly from the straight street, apparently aiming to park beside the other cars. But for some reason, it was speeding up more and more, and the direction was obviously off-course.

It charged at Casio with a feverish speed.

Bang!

The car plowed directly into a load-bearing column. The entire hood flipped and distorted as plumes of black smoke escaped from the cracks.

Casio stood to one side, stroking his chin. The glass of the police car was already shattered, revealing a cop in the driver’s seat who was sweating profusely and looked terrified. He was still desperately wrenching the steering wheel.

“What happened? Car failure?” asked Casio.

“Ah? Oh. The… the brakes suddenly failed, and the steering wheel… is also useless,” the young cop was still as pale as a ghost, swallowing repeatedly as he spoke, his mind still reeling from the sudden turn of events.

“Interesting. The side effect of the Devil’s Book is to worsen my luck, causing all sorts of bad things to happen around me…”

Crash!

A huge signboard overhead fell right onto Casio’s head, causing a loud metallic clang. This signboard measured three to four meters in length, presenting the words “Gold Antique Exhibition” in the art form of solid steel. It was large and heavy, and when it fell, Casio’s feet shook, causing the steps to crack.

“Are… are you alright, sir!”

The cop got out of the driver’s seat with a terrified look on his face. The head of the young man was stuck in between the signboard, fitting perfectly between the gap of the words “Gold” and “Antique”.

At first glance, Casio seemed like a flesh-and-blood pole stuck on the ground, blocking the moonlight above his head and casting a large shadow, somewhat resembling an urban legend’s creepy figure.

“I… I’m fine, you should get out of here first, it’s dangerous…”

With his head buzzing, Casio uttered these words, then after a few seconds, bewilderment turned into rage. Why? He could accept the bad luck curse being aimed at his body, as it was the price to pay for the valuable knowledge obtained from the Devil’s Book. But why was his head the primary target of the curse?

A free fall from the third floor, windowsill smacking his head, flowerpot smashing his head, and now a billboard crashing onto his head! What the hell? Even though such attacks posed no major threat to Casio, they were surely infuriating. On recollecting, that sword strike by Sheng Feinan seemingly was aimed at his head too, thankfully he managed to block it in time.

“Damn it, show me that you can really injure my head!” Casio pulled down the billboard and spit out a mouthful of saliva.

He raised his middle finger towards the misfortune that seemed to come from nowhere.

Rumble, rumble, rumble!

Half the front hall of the Gold Antique Exhibition collapsed, the load-bearing pillar slanted, and the wall free-fell. The whole building structure crumbled like an avalanche in a short time.

Bricks, flooring, and walls formed a dilapidated flow of gray rubble. It immediately swallowed up the position where Casio stood.

The khaki dust roared past like a wave, and the middle finger was lost in a flash, instantly disappearing in the smoke.

“Fuck!”

This plain emotional catharsis was drowned in the collapsing sound.

Two minutes later, under everyone’s gaze,

A hand reached out from the rubble, forcibly clawed open the marble load-bearing column on top, and a grimy Casio crawled out.

His casual and elegant expensive clothes were torn and he looked like a beggar. His originally shiny and soft blond hair looked like a chicken coop rolling in the dust, and on his fine face, blood was dripping down his forehead.

Sliding down from the corner of his eye and the wing of his nose, all the way to his chin.

Casio’s eyes were lifeless as he reached out to touch the Devil’s Book hidden within his robe, entertaining the idea of throwing it away for the first time.

*************************

He had been struggling for the entire night, and it wasn’t until the sunrise of the following day that Casio truly felt that his bad luck had disappeared. According to the records, the entire duration was around ten hours.

The first half-hour of bad luck was the most intense, where all kinds of environmental factors would accumulate to create weird and fatal factors against Casio. However, after the most intense initial half-hour, the level of danger from the bad luck decreased significantly. It could only reach the extent of causing injury to an ordinary person, which naturally didn’t pose a problem to Casio.

Throughout this period, the only time Casio was injured was during the collapse of the Antique Exhibition building. He was hit on the head by a violently falling marble pillar which caused some bleeding, accompanied by a short period of concussion. The most dangerous time was when the control of the Spiral Eyed Sword was lost and it violently ripped through the wall.

Given these circumstances, the side effects of the Devil’s Book weren’t yet uncontrollable. As long as he’s careful, these are acceptable to the robust Casio. Besides, he suspected that the side effects wouldn’t be this severe from normal use of the Devil’s Book. It seems that he had poured in a large amount of Disaster Essence all at once, directly reading two pages of crucial information, hence resulting in some extraordinary bad luck.

In the morning, the sky flickered with a golden halo, the dome of the sky was clear and blue, filled with soft and dense white clouds. The air carried a hint of freshness.

Training Room.

Cleaning up himself, Casio leaned against the wall with his eyes half-closed, appearing somewhat soft with his sharp eyebrows and eyes covered by slightly damp blond hair. Feng Liusi, dressed in black, stood next to him.

With his arms crossed, he watched Sheng Feinan practicing swordsmanship.

Sheng Feinan came from the northern part of the Federation, and his training in the Holy Ice Profound Technique mainly consisted of three parts. The most fundamental body training method, whip technique, and sword technique. When he fully unleashed his battle power of the Holy Ice Profound Technique, his strongest form was the sword form.

This Spiral Eyed Sword happened to match his training weapon.

The sword was a meter and two in length, forming a cross shape with wave-like flames running down the blade on its two sides. When it was swiftly swung in the air, the blade seemed to give off an illusion of spiraling.

In the center of the field, Sheng Feinan slightly closed his eyes. With his right hand gripping the hilt and the four fingers of his left hand gently touching the blade, he seemed to be sensing something. His movements were gentle, his aura stable. Until one moment, he suddenly opened his eyes, his body and the blade’s sharp edge burst forth simultaneously. In an instant, his finger slid across the blade’s groove, drawing blood.

“Release the power!”

With one step forward, Sheng Feinan hacked out with the sword in his hand. For a moment, the sword shone brightly. The steel blade was surrounded by a fiery, black contour roiling and extending out, making the sword suddenly stretch longer and wider, reaching one meter eight in length, and doubled in width.

Clang!

The cross sword heavily struck the steel dummy in front of him. Sparks flew out, and the grating sound faded almost immediately. The flame-like contour on the surface of the Spiral Eyed Sword rotated like a chainsaw, directly cutting the dummy in half, leaving traces of friction on the cross-section.

There was a flash in Sheng Feinan’s eyes, then he sheathed his sword and drew it once again.

The spherical ornament at the end of the hilt of the Spiral Eyed Sword, a metal ball resembling an eyeball, suddenly lit up, emitting a strange red light.

Feng Liusi’s eyebrows twitched, and Casio opened his eyes at the same instant. Both of them sensed a huge, terrifying energy pressure expanding and exploding, engulfing the entire training room. The surroundings were plunged into a void in an instant, colors faded, and pure darkness took over.

It was as if they were in an obscure cosmic space. In front of their field of vision, a crimson pupil appeared, growing larger and larger.

The horrifying oppressive feeling was almost palpable.

“This sword …”

“Its power has increased by at least 20% from its limit!”

In Feng Liusi’s eyes, a strong sense of admiration flashed.

Casio’s eyes were also filled with the same emotion, except the thoughts that emerged in his mind were different. What he was thinking was,

“Good thing the sword that went berserk last night wasn’t this one …”

Morning passed quickly, and soon it was afternoon.

Amos finally finished his communication, bringing back good news. The Black Mechanism Headquarters has communicated with East Sea County and its eight nearby city branches. They will send all the Dark Creatures in the prison cage to Casio for a series of harmless destruction.
