Chapter 523 - 523 289 Ranked Fifth Dark Ultimate Form (4000)_2
Chapter 523: 289 Ranked Fifth Dark Ultimate Form (4000)_2 Chapter 523: 289 Ranked Fifth Dark Ultimate Form (4000)_2 At the top of the skull are five differently colored gemstones.
All of them are diamond-shaped, each about the size of a pinky fingernail.
Of the five gems, three are very dim. Only the two in front light up, revealing an irresistibly warm and charming color.
Casio examined the exterior carefully and finding nothing else, he then slowly flipped open the pages. Flap… flap…
Blank, blank, and still blank.
All the pages retained their original colors, with no content at all. The pages were as thin as cicada wings, yet surprisingly tough. Casio tugged hard at them, but these thin pages showed no change, which was quite astonishing. However, no matter how miraculous the materials of the book, without any content it would be useless. Was this just a blank notebook?
He clearly recalled the Black Peacock saying that the Devil’s Book in mythical legends contained evil forbidden techniques and maps of ancient ruins. As a result, although he had obtained the Devil’s Book, reality was a huge disappointment for Casio. A twinge of regret began stirring in his heart.
All of the disaster essences he had accumulated seemed to have been consumed. Although they couldn’t be used originally, Casio still felt a great loss. He began to question his own intuition and couldn’t help but flip through the book several times.
Yet, all of the pages remained blank.
Unwilling to give up, Casio tried to burn it, soak it in water, freeze it, and employed all sorts of methods. He even asked Feng Liusi and Sheng Feinan for help.
After an hour of fiddling, there was still no progress.
Just as he was about to temporarily give up, the image of the Devil’s Book cover surfaced in his mind. If anything was unusual about this book, it would probably be the skull and the gemstones. So, Casio ended up studying the cover for another half hour.
Hard work pays off, as he finally found a way.
The method was…
To press the two glowing gemstones with a finger and channel Qi into them. The person who made this book was simply a genius.
Who could have thought of such a premise to unlock the book’s content!
After Casio channeled the Qi, the two glowing gems dimmed again, and the first two pages of the blank book finally had some content. Before reading it, he tested the other three dim gems with Qi again.
No effect. The content of the book did not increase.
Casio rubbed his chin, quickly deducing that the Devil’s Book might need to be charged to unlock its content. And the charging of energy was obviously related to the wisdom runes he had been using.
Given the drain of the disaster essence progress bar in the field of view status bar…
Casio thought that the energy the Devil’s Book needed was probably the disaster essence or the spirit blood transformed by the disaster essence.
All the disaster energy he had obtained from nearly annihilating the entire Blood Spirit Association had only charged two gems. While this left Casio somewhat annoyed, it also piqued his curiosity about the contents of the Devil’s Book. The higher the price, the more valuable the object, isn’t it?
Casio kept his curiosity in check and continued pondering on the Devil’s Book’s stringent user conditions. Having only disaster essence wasn’t sufficient for one to see the contents of this book – the user necessarily had to be a fighter from the Secret Martial Art practioners.
Or in other words, fighters and above who could freely control Qi among humans. So dark creatures wouldn’t work. They naturally couldn’t master Qi and could even be considered as enemies of Qi.
“Dark creatures can’t read this Devil’s Book…”
Casio made a simple conclusion, thoughts scrolling rapidly in his mind. He noted this speculation and took a moment to calm himself, sipped some hot tea, and opened the book.
The Devil’s Book only revealed two pages of content after charging.
The first page.
Casio took a careful look and froze in place.
Demon Idol!!!!!!
How could it be?!
His breath hitched, and his heart nearly leapt out of his chest. His dark biological transformation resulted in a dark creature which was a Demon Idol, and its origin was the blood vessel mutation caused by the meteorite during the last retrospective of the Black Rain Villa. This time the mutation seemed to be stimulated by the fragment of the door during the retrospective, causing Casio to evolve out of control in the midst of the fight, almost transforming into the Demon Idol.
Normally, the Demon Idol should have been a unique creation born of chance. How could it be mentioned in the Devil’s Book?
Suppressing his astonishment, Casio continued reading.
The contents on this page appeared to be about the Demon Idols, monstrous beings from the darkness, with a ferocious and enormous diagram of a demon idol on the side.
It was identical to what Casio saw in the Black Cocoon.
Next to it was the introduction.
Demon Statue: A powerfully monstrous creature birthed from the Endless Calamity, measuring four to ten meters in size and endowed with terrifying brute force. It is the epitome of a combat machine that combines speed and strength.
It ranks fifth among all dark creature ultimate forms.
“Dark Creature Ultimate Forms?!”
Casio immediately caught onto the key, integrating some of the previous information he had and consolidating certain Intelligence.
Then, based on the contents of the Devil’s Book, he reached a conclusion.
Dark creatures belonged to various clans, each theoretically ruled by a king. However, not all clans were able to give birth to an ultimate form; only ones with substantial power may have the chance to transcend evolution over millennia.
These entities could be referred to as ultimate forms or original dark forms.
For instance, the Blood Clan had the mythical Umirah, the True Ancestor of Blood.
Her image was supposedly a tremendously frightening bat. The so-called Blood Ceremony of the direct descendants of Blood Clan was left behind by Umirah. The power invoked was also hers, which could be used to purify primal blood.
Beyond that were the Totem Wizards of the Hundred Thousand Mountains.
Their power stemmed from the king hidden deep within the Hundred Thousand Mountains, the Totem King Cassius. The aura inadvertently emitted during his slumber in the mountains altered the surrounding environment, leading to animals, plants, and even inanimate objects mutating and developing totems.
Then, there’s The Blood Spirit Association, their state of resonance bodies condensed from high-rank dead blood, closely resembled the form of an ultimate form.
Throughout his retrospections, Casio had traversed the expanses of the earth and sea, yet he had never caught any signs of these dark creature ultimate forms.
He recalled the Totem King who was rumored to be in deep slumber and the True Ancestor of Blood who was nowhere to be found, along with the death state of the high-rank Blood Clan he encountered during his last retrospection. He temporarily formed a speculative theory about the changing of the environment – didn’t the world allow an original form to present freely?
Or, obtaining formidable power came with a cost.
Was the cost a long sleep?
He took a deep breath and continued to scan the contents.
The content on the page detailed the various attributes of the dark creature Demon Idol, including but not limited to its physiological structure, living habits, diet preferences, various combat states, and innate instincts.
It was an encyclopedia of sorts, being very comprehensive in its dissection.
At times, as Casio read the material and felt a thrill in his heart, his core of the Secret Martial Art of the Demon Idol seemed to mimic the state of the Demon Idol, whether in terms of combat outburst or physical reconstruction. His fighting style was something he had figured out himself, primarily by combining his sturdy physique with his boxing method.
But now, he had the elucidation and explanation from the Devil’s Book.
Could he try to stimulate various combat states and even the various innate instincts of the Demon Idol under the Demon Idol state of the Secret Martial Art of the Demon Idol? Like the Fresh Blood sense mentioned in the book.
This was an innate instinct of the Demon Idol, as long as the enemy got itself stained with its blood during a fight, it could be tracked down by the Fresh Blood sense no matter where it hid. Unless the distance was too far or too much time had passed.
Casio continued to read until he finished the contents on this page, still unsatiated. For someone like him who lacked knowledge about the Demon Idol, he really needed this kind of supplementation. To know thyself and to know thy enemy ensures success in a hundred battles.
Now, Casio obviously understood himself better.
He lifted his head, his eyes vacant, seeming to be relieving the pressure from the overload of information in his brain. After a brief rest, Casio turned the page, revealing the second page of the Devil’s Book.
“The Secret of the Southern Dipper”, the map to the relic where the secret resides.
Slap!
He slapped his thigh directly.
Feeling sleepy but getting a pillow, even if Casio was slow, he understood what was happening. The contents revealed by the Devil’s Book were the important information he had wanted to know most recently!
Could this be a wish-granting encyclopedia?!
