Chapter 395: 231 Who Agrees Who Disagrees (4100)_1 Chapter 395: 231 Who Agrees Who Disagrees (4100)_1 August 29, 5:00 p.m.
Adjacent to Windsor County, in Kaqiong County, Nam City.
A white villa, bathed in the warm orange-red hues of the setting sun, its rooftop tiles glinting. The path is covered with a white marble tablet, coarsely laid out but reflecting the sunlight. Lining the path are rows of black streetlights, their tops engraved with beautiful patterns.
Ethereal piano notes drift from the villa as the fountain in the circular plaza occasionally sprays water droplets.
In the center of the plaza, a purple-haired youth sits cross-legged. A light-colored trench coat laid next to him, and a sword rests on his knee.
His eyes are tightly closed, his chest shows subtle movements, and a persistent hissing sound, resembling a rattling snake, escapes his nostrils. It appears to be a certain breathing method, exuding a rather sharp aura.
The youth, bare-chested, exhibited a robust body. His muscles, though not exaggeratedly bulked, are toned. Their explosive potential is beyond question.
However, several white bandages are wrapped around his upper body. Starting from his left waist, winding up to his right shoulder, circling around two or three times.
The youth’s breathing continues powerfully, maintaining a distinct rhythm.
Despite his stillness, his exposed muscles react, tight as steel cables. Individually throbbing, colliding, intertwining, and then returning to their original positions. Sweaty drops slide down to disappearing before they reach far – evaporated by his body heat. A thin layer of mist forms around the youth.
About ten meters away, the marble fountain continues to function. A child sculpture on top of a white column does its job diligently, attracting some flying birds from the sky.
Suddenly, another white bird flutters its wings and swoops down, riding on the gentle breeze. Making a few circles before it flies over the youth’s head.
A blurred, dreamy silvery moonlight flashes past rapidly.
The youth on the ground keeps his eyes tightly closed, his long sword in front of him, both hands rest on his knees – motionless.
The white bird above him shows no sign of fright, carries on flying forward, lands by the fountain, and begins grooming its feathers.
Only when a white feather falls from above with a gentle sway, and lastly lands in the center of the sword’s sheath.
A smooth but noticeable cut at the edge of the feather catches the eye.
In the far end of the plaza, the sound of clapping breaks out suddenly. A bald, elderly man dressed in white, with a smile on his face, walks over.
“Lance, your kendo improves once again. Striking a feather from a bird in flight without hurting the bird itself. A slight shift in the sword’s direction would have made it impossible – it requires the precise control of force…”
The elderly man halts, standing next to the youth, and sighs, “Youth pressed ahead fast, isn’t it? You just had a fight with the Flower Secret Sword of Secret Sword Association yesterday, and you’ve just made another step forward in your swordsmanship today. I probably can’t match you anymore…”
A deep voice responds from below, “I am not your rival yet, Master. Otherwise, I would have taken up my sword to challenge you just now.” The purple-haired youth slowly opens his eyes, “The head of the Secret Sword Association truly posses formidable strength, though I made a concerted effort, it resulted in a draw, albeit me being a little weaker…”
He looks down at the white bandage wrapped around his chest, and speaks with certain conviction, “However, now the gap between us has vanished. Both belong to Schools of covert Swordmanship, the sparring sessions do help in my progression. An hour ago, I discerned a faint Sense of Qi, but still lack in many aspects…”
“You’ve detected a Sense of Qi?!” The bald elder exclaims in a cheerful surprise. His face lights up into a smile as he comforts his pupil, “Don’t rush, don’t rush. The fact that you have detected a Sense of Qi is already your ticket into the realm of Fighters. You still lack a bit in accumulation, and you need more experience and willpower. Maintain this momentum and keep fighting, and perhaps you’ll naturally break through the bottleneck…”
The old man looks at his pupil with satisfaction and relief, “Lance, you may well be the first to break through among the Three Stars of our east sector.”
He continues as if he remembered something, “Ah, right. I just got the latest intel. Star Ring Fist’s Aro seems to be heading towards Windsor County. His intention possibly aligns with ours…”
The Star Ring Fist, along with the Soul-Losing Swordmanship, are among the highest sects in the East Nine Gates. Its highest ranking member, named Aro, together with Lance, is known as one of the Three Stars of the east sector. Known as ‘Gleaming Fist’, Aro is the only one from the younger generation of the Star Ring Fist to have mastered all three secret techniques of the Sun, Moon, and Stars. Hence, his nickname, due to the multiple secret techniques and the dazzling nature of his Fist Method.
Lance has sparred with Aro previously. Six months ago, he had two wins and three losses against Aro – a slight disadvantage. After six months of training, Lance is confident of at least equal strength. Whether he could have the upper hand, he is not sure. This is enough to prove the strong capabilities of Aro. However, the sudden news of him heading towards Windsor County does not bode well for Lance.
However, the current Lance does not fear Aro anymore.
Lance stands up and says to the old man beside him, “Let him come as he wishes. It’s time to reverse the outcome of our sparring six months ago. In the face of my power now, his dazzling secret techniques are futile. One can break a thousand methods with sheer strength, and so does one sword…”
