Chapter 220 - 220 154 Borrowed from High-interest Loans (4100)
Chapter 220: 154 Borrowed from High-interest Loans (4100) (Thanks to the 15,000 starting coins reward from Lakeside Reservoir)_2 Chapter 220: 154 Borrowed from High-interest Loans (4100) (Thanks to the 15,000 starting coins reward from Lakeside Reservoir)_2 Under the gazes of a few, Casio walked out of the Baptism Church.
His next course of action was… to get a high-interest loan.
Casio estimated that if things went swimmingly, the people from the Northern Mystery Martial World would arrive swiftly. Thus, he needed to show them the effect of the Secret Soul himself first. At present, he had no Dark Source left, all having been depleted before heading out to seek the relics.
Taking on another task at this point would be too much of a hassle. It was better to borrow instead.
After leaving the Baptism Church, Casio did not return to the Crossbow base, but instead made his way towards the Eastern region of Black Rain Villa.
Here lay a very famous place, the Iron Blood Bar.
The inside of the bar was as bustling as always, with some downing their drinks and others loudly boasting.
Casio casually chose a secluded table and requested a drink, his eyes scanning the bar, waiting for the message dealer to appear.
Just five or six minutes later, a skinny, short redheaded man walked in, accompanied by what appeared to be a customer. The pair chatted as they picked a seat.
Not long after sitting down, Casio stood up and walked over.
The little man glanced over. Recognizing Casio, he quickly caught on. The two of them made their way towards the secluded alley behind the back door.
“Have any of the five loan sources you gave me last time changed?” Casio asked, scanning the alley.
“Indeed, there is one,” the little man recalled after a moment.
“Recently, the Limb Group, a branch of the dark current, seems to have stopped. They’re apparently organizing a large-scale group task and won’t be dealing with their lending service.” The little man was a professional information broker with quick and accurate sources.
“They’re not doing it anymore?” Casio was slightly disappointed.
“Yes, the Limb Group is definitely out. But…”
Casio emotionlessly passed over a pile of Federal Paper Money.
“Hehe.” The redhead chuckled, a sly expression on his face: “I have another channel here. It’s also a branch of Dark Current, the Ghost Face Association. They’ve recently begun offering credit services. This is the address and business hours of the transaction.”
He handed Casio a piece of paper with writing on it.
Casio stuffed it in his pocket.
“Oh, by the way, don’t say I didn’t warn you. There are some really sick folks in the Ghost Face Association. The aftereffects of their dark surgery are enormous. They can sometimes lose their minds, and their methods of collecting debts can be brutal. I suggest you think it over carefully before borrowing from them…”
The little man reminded him.
Casio chuckled, “They’ll thank you.”
“Huh?”
“It’s nothing.”
Casio patted the little man on the shoulder: “It’s on you.”
With that said, he turned around and left the alley.
“Why would those lunatics in the Ghost Face Association thank me? For bringing them a new customer?” The redheaded little man shrugged nonchalantly, pulling a bill from his shoulder.
He flicked it gently with his fingers and whistled.
“Who cares, let’s go have a drink…”
Half an hour later.
Black Rain Villa’s Eastern region, the Black Wolf base.
“What’s the maximum individual loan you offer here?” Casio was chatting with a freckled middle-aged man across from him.
“Oh?” The man raised an eyebrow: “Is it urgent?”
“It’s urgent.” Casio came up with some random story. The Dark Source he was about to borrow would never be repaid anyway. All that mattered was getting the loan.
“Well… alright then. Let’s discuss it in the room behind.”
The man stood up and led the way.
A dozen or so minutes later, at the Grim Reaper’s base.
A tall, black-clothed man walked in from the outside of the hall, his initial request being: bring me the luxury loan package.
On the southern part of Black Rain Villa, the Dark Current, Ghost Face base.
Casio stared at a piece of paper pinned to the table which detailed the specific interest rates for loans. Ten days, 20%; twenty days, three-fold; thirty days, forty-fold… Such extortionate interest rates did exist.
As expected of people dealing with frequent bouts of insanity, even the method for calculating interest was insane. However, they seemed to have plenty of Dark Source to loan, probably because they weren’t afraid the borrower wouldn’t repay…
After contemplating for a bit, Casio lifted his head.
“Give me the maximum number of Shield Rank loans…”
At dusk, he had gone through five high-interest loan channels. The amount of Dark Source he had was unprecedented, proving that the resources obtained from a group were far more than what could be obtained alone.
Cranking up a pile of task certificates, he returned to the way of the crossbow.
Casio’s borrowing of so much Dark Source wasn’t without purpose, experiencing the fun of profiting at others’ expense was just a joke. When the joint representative of the Northern Mystery Martial World entered the Black Rain Villa, this Dark Source material would be useful. Casio’s solo use of the Secret Soul’s power was still a bit unconvincing, he needed to get a batch of Eerie Night Guests using the power of the Secret Soul for comparison.
Hong Li Federation Calendar, 107th year, 8th of July.
He left the Black Rain Villa and headed to East Sea City.
Casio had made an agreement with Mian, that they would meet at the famous Blossoming Fountain Square in East Sea City. So he rented a house near the high-end apartments opposite the Blossoming Fountain Square.
On average days, he stayed here, and he had to pass through the square when he went out.
If Mian and the others came, Casio would be able to see them at first glance. Also, it wasn’t too far from Warmingda University.
He could occasionally check on the professor’s work progress.
More than five hundred meters west of Blossoming Fountain Square, an Iron Fist Gym was opened, it was a medium-sized venue.
It was afternoon and the entire venue had been booked.
In the venue, a muscular man with a bare upper body kept his fists on his chest. His body was full of rippling muscles, the skin exuded a hardness like that of marble, as if he was wearing armor.
Sunlight streamed through the window, lighting up his body with a rock-white glow. Casio took a casual glance around.
“Use the greatest strength you have, do not hold back.”
Seven or eight equally muscular and robust men looked at each other. Immediately they raised their batons and rushed over. The rain and storm-like attacks hit Casio.
“Good, add more strength! Go all out.”
Casio stood still like a mountain, allowing them to strike. He was even constantly encouraging the men.
“Is this all the strength you have?! Soft as a girl! How do you earn so many federal coins!”
The Iron Fist Gym’s robust men were provoked and started hitting harder, the sweat pouring out instantly soaking their vests.
“Bang…Bang…Bang…”
The pounding sound echoed across the venue.
Crack!
A muscular arm swung over, directly breaking three incoming sticks. Casio was unsatisfied and patted his chest.
“There’s no effect… stop using these fragile sticks, use steel pipes. If you are stronger, pick up the hammer over there.”
“Once I’m satisfied, everyone will get a tip.”
His hands were folded on his chest, watching the men from Iron Fist Gym throw away their sticks and each picking up a steel pipe and hammer.
“Come!”
Casio’s whole body shook, and the muscles surged once more.
The sound of the hammer and steel pipe was continuous.
“Ah~ very good, just like this! I’m feeling it.”
“I need this level of intensity to feel good, so comfortable…”
At dusk, at the edge of the Iron Fist Gym venue.
A robust man swung his last steel pipe with all his might, and with a loud bang, the steel pipe visibly bent. The robust man took two steps back, looked back, and the ground was full of bent steel pipes. There were also three or four brothers lying on the ground panting.
Their white vests were soaked through, looking like they had just been fished out of the water. The robust man extended a somewhat trembling hand and wiped the sweat from his face and eyelids that was about to affect his vision. He turned his head towards the center of the venue.
The muscular man called Casio was still expressionless, his hands folded on his chest, standing like a majestic and imposing mountain.
Neither the hammer nor the steel pipe swung at full strength could harm him at all.
It was rumored that he had practiced Hard Qigong.
He had heard of Hard Qigong.
But this was the first time he had seen one so hard!
The robust man took a step to the left, his legs suddenly went soft, and he sat down too. Casio was the only one left standing in the entire venue.
Casio looked at the upper right corner, his expression unchanged.
“Let’s stop here for today, inform the next batch of people, tell them to be fully prepared at three o’clock tomorrow afternoon…”
