Chapter 167 - 167 132 The Power of Technology (4300)_1

Chapter 167: 132 The Power of Technology (4300)_1 Chapter 167: 132 The Power of Technology (4300)_1 Several days passed again.

Anta Mountains, Black Rain Villa.

Boom….

The sound of thunder in the sky was getting closer, as if a big iron ball was rolling across a plank overhead. The villa shook violently as a gale carrying heavy rain struck the sky ferociously. The faintly black rainwater fell with a much denser and more violent degree than usual.

“What’s happening?”

Inside the Black Rain Villa, within each building. No matter whether in the Mission Hall or the various schools’ bases, or places like shops. Everyone was looking subtly up at the sky.

“There is a marker whose regular task has not been completed.”

“I wonder which unfortunate fool it is? Haha….”

“Such an idiot, probably a novice. But to think of dodging a regular task, it’s a sure path to death! There’s a chance of survival by forcing oneself to do the task, escaping is sure death!”

“The decaying knights nearby the manor are going to act…”

“That guy’s doomed for sure.”

In the drizzling rain, within the dim fog near the Black Rain Villa, some giant shadow aimlessly wandering suddenly twitched, and all started walking in the same direction.

On a passage leading into the Villa, a black carriage sped along the road. An Eerie Night Guest sitting by the window suddenly heard an unfamiliar gallop. He opened a slight gap in the gauze window and looked straight ahead.

Bearing heavy armor all over, a tall war horse was going at full speed, carrying a knight holding a sword on his back. From behind his shoulder rose an excessively shiny cross, the sword hilt ended with a thick piece of dark red, with a skull emblem atop.

An inexplicable cross, seemingly of fallen metal.

“Decayed Knights are being deployed?!”

Several hundred miles away, Nington City, Joachim Manor.

In one of the dark secret rooms.

A tall figure sat cross-legged, his imposing robust body stable and heavy, its surface palpable with a hard rock-like texture.

Sweat was falling down his slightly reddened body, hitting the ground like beads ripped from a thread, making a plopping noise.

The enormous body heat evaporated sweat into white mist.

Suddenly, on the back of the man’s right hand.

The originally black shield emblem burst into a blood-red glow in an instant, as bright as a flashlight.

“It’s starting.”

Casio felt a sinking feeling in his heart, sensing an ominous premonition. He felt as if a pair of eyes were watching him from high above, lacking any human emotion, only cold and ruthless like the execution of rules, along with a touch of mechanical bloodthirst.

He opened his eyes, looking down at his hot right hand. The shield emblem’s glow slowly dimmed, eventually restoring its original brightness. However, on the dull medieval style shield, there was now a terrifying spear running through it.

He knew not where the spear came from, but it had smashed through the center of the shield as if killing the person behind the shield in one blow.

“Is it suggesting my inevitable death? Hehe….”

Casio chuckled coldly, once again closing his eyes.

Two days later, at dusk in the suburbs of Nington City.

The sky which was clear just moments ago was now overcast, and lightning tore through the dark clouds, followed by heavy rain pouring down abruptly. The sudden rain made reality unclear, as all things were shrouded in transparent haziness, trees standing tall amidst the wind and rain, with huge raindrops pounding furiously against the grey walls.

Splash!

Another lightning bolt ripped through the sky, followed by thunder like a roaring clap. The massive explosion made people’s scalps numb, their chests felt like something hard had bumped into them, inducing discomfort and a sense of heaviness.

Clip-clop!

A black carriage stopped on a country road.

A moment later.

A man holding an umbrella started to walk slowly towards the manor.

He was wearing a large black cloak, with a large suitcase in his left hand seemingly filled with luggage and clothes.

The rain falling from the sky splashed onto the umbrella.

One circular ripple of water blossoming after another.

Wearing a rain-protective pair of black boots, Casio took one step at a time on the muddy country road towards the manor a few hundred meters away.

He held up the edge of the umbrella slightly, looking up at the dark sky. He then raised his left hand to check the time.

18:00.

Click.

The minute hand moved, the time became 18:01.

Casio suddenly turned around, staring forcefully at the road behind him.

The rain curtain was heavy, tree shadows blurry. But on the rural path he had been traversing, there was nobody else but him. No villagers would be wandering on the road in a downpour.

“…”

Casio stayed for a second before turning around and continued walking. The sound of his shoe stepping on the mud could be heard clearly.

Having walked less than ten meters forward, a long and slim silhouette appeared out of nowhere in the fog behind him. It was covered in metal armor, its surface embedded with fish scale-like iron plates and it wore a conical iron helmet. It held a Canon Slashing Sword in its metal-gloved hand which was linked to several pieces of metal.

The cold rainwater fell on the vicious joints, carrying a slight redness when falling, it was unclear whether it was due to the rusting of the metal or the melting of a dark red solid in the crevices of the armor.

Under the knight’s helmet, a pair of wooden eyes opened. The very next second, his cluelessness was replaced by a bloodthirst never seen before.

“Kill! Kill! Kill the…..kill….”

Driven by his desire, the Slashing Sword Knight took his first step.
