Chapter 152 - 152 124 The Secret is Muscle_1
Chapter 152: 124 The Secret is Muscle_1 Chapter 152: 124 The Secret is Muscle_1 With a familiar jolt,
Casio travelled to Black Rain Villa by horse carriage.
As usual, he first went to the crossbow station, cleaned up his room, and then came to the Mission Hall with his suitcase.
Unlike the regular tasks that are handed directly over to the Black Rain Villa,
Extra tasks require the submission of tokens and mission targets at the Mission Hall in exchange for special vouchers for Black Essence.
About five minutes later, Casio received five thumb-sized crystals – the vouchers for Black Essence. These vouchers cannot be traded and are mysteriously bound to the markers’ aura.
After leaving the Mission Hall without any incidents, Casio headed directly towards the Baptism Church.
The familiar place, the familiar secret room.
A stone column stood in the center of the secret room, with hands spread out like a lotus. Without any hesitation, Casio put the five crystals on it, along with the voucher for the standing task.
He stepped back and stood silently.
Like the previous time, a dark tornado rose from the top of the stone column. This time it was very intense, the whole secret room was filled with a swirling air current.
Half a moment passed, and then the air currents began to dissipate.
A deep voice echoed in Casio’s ear,
“Twelve units of Black Essence.”
“The exchangeable items are as below.”
1. Beast’s Blood (Ghost Wolf): Take the voucher, go to the Dawn Hospital at Black Rain Villa, and get a blood injection. This blood is quite comprehensive, improving speed, strength, defense, recovery, endurance, and burst. There is a probability of failure. (8.5 Essence)
2. Transparent Mercury (Superior): This mercury is related to the air current. After exercising, it can strengthen the wind blade’s lethality. (7.7 Essence)
…
10. Secret Soul Power: It can be used to enhance body attributes, including but not limited to… Reminder, two Essence equals one Secret Soul.
Glancing at them, the grade of the other exchangeable items seems to have gone up a lot and looks quite tempting. However, Casio was not moved at all. These seeming shortcuts have various defects, and most of them lack sustainability.
Exchanging for a large amount of Secret Soul to quickly enhance the Secret Martial Art is the correct way.
“All exchange for Secret Soul Power.”
“Exchange item confirmed, 6 Secret Soul Power.”
The ceiling suddenly plunged into chaos, and the dark grey fog descended like low-hanging clouds, covering the surroundings. Droplets of rain fell down, wrapping around Casio like a lingering spider web.
As the rain collided with his skin, a continuous stream of warmth flowed into his body, as hot as blood.
Half a minute later, the rain dissipated, and the secret room returned to its silence.
Casio’s spirit sank, and he began to quickly enhance his Secret Martial Art with the Secret Soul Power, just like last time. The essentials of the Elephant Soul Secret Technique flashed through his mind, playing out like a movie.
Boom!
The massive Secret Soul Power within him exploded.
For a moment, Casio felt as if he was soaking in a hot spring, every inch of his skin feeling incredibly enjoyable.
However, the next second, a pain swept across him from all sides. It felt as if thousands of steel needles were piercing his body like pear blossoms in a heavy rain, stabbing Casio through and through.
The intense pain made him grit his teeth.
His vigorous blood and qi were rampaging under his skin and flesh, causing a strong pain that swept across his body over and over again. However, after each bout of pain, it was followed by a rapidly increasing sense of power. Strength was slowly but surely returning.
After what seemed like ages, beads of sweat continued to seep out from Casio’s body and were immediately evaporated by the scorching body temperature. A string of white crystalline salt grains remained on the surface of his skin. He sat cross-legged on the ground, his upper body muscles bulging and protruding outwards.
Black was the color of Casio’s powerful and pulsating muscles.
Red represented the boiling blood running underneath it.
In the secret room, a pair of bright eyes opened.
Casio suddenly stood up. He had unknowingly grown taller, now standing around one meter eight tall.
With a slight movement of his body, his joints creaked audibly.
Top right corner.
“Wind Elephant Fist: Elephant Herd 67.7% (Three Layers)”
“Elephant Soul Secret Technique: Spike 75.9% (Three Layers)”
“It’s not enough, nowhere near enough. What I need is effortless power!” Casio raised his sandbag-sized fist and thumped his chest, producing a booming echo, “Not even reaching the bottleneck of human limitations, this body isn’t any good!”
He reached out his hand, tore off his slightly torn shirt and rolled it into a ball. He stuffed it into a black travel case and, while holding an umbrella, quickly walked away shirtless.
In the blink of an eye, a month and a half passed.
On a seldom-traveled route in the Anta Mountains.
Light rain was falling from the sky, causing the road to become muddy. On this black mountain path, a man clad in a black cloak stood still. In front of him, five or six men, radiating dangerous auras, squinted their eyes.
The leading burly man sized up the man in the black robe, a playful smile on his face. He stroked his goatee, “You’re the madman from Black Rain Villa who’s been taking extra tasks non-stop, aren’t you? Surrender your secrets now, and we may just spare your life.”
The burly man sneered in his heart. Spare his life? Not a chance. This man had seemingly uncovered some loophole in the Black Rain Villa. He had taken on extra tasks frantically for the past few months, and completed all of them. This had attracted the attention of the Eerie Night Guest, but they could never pinpoint his whereabouts.
Now, they had him cornered at last.
“Secret?”
A deep voice rumbled from beneath the cloak.
“So you thought that I’ve been using some sort of trick to complete all these extra tasks? Hahahaha…”
“Aren’t you?!”
The burly man took a step forward, his aura menacing.
“K-k-k-k…”
A series of mechanical noises rang out from beneath the cloak. The man in the cloak reached behind and took out a Furious Steam Mechanical Crossbow.
“A crossbow wielder?” The burly man furrowed his brow. He and the five people behind him transformed immediately, becoming formidable creatures that were half-human and half-beast. There were three werewolves and three leopard men. Their muscular bodies expanded, allowing them to reduce the damage from the crossbow.
Unexpectedly, the cloaked man tossed the crossbow to the side as soon as he pulled it out, startling people with a clatter.
His cloak was swiftly pulled off.
A body as strong as an iron tower was exposed to the air. The man was an impressive height of 1.87 meters. His frighteningly dark blue muscles were bulging and firm. His chest heaved up and down with every breath, like an armor. A sense of power radiated from him.
Casio looked towards the others calmly. His scarlet eyes masked by indifference seemed to conceal an intense bloodthirst.
“You want to know what my secret is?” His gaze swept across, a strong oppressive and threatening aura stopping anyone from meeting his eyes. “Why don’t you try and see, only then will you know what my secret is…”
“Hss…”
Air swirled around his nose and mouth like a whirlwind, as his arms spread out like the wings of an eagle. His already enormous body seemed to expand even further, with the blood vessels on his neck throbbing like tree branches.
“Roar!”
The burly man in front of him let out a sky-shaking roar. His powerful legs hit the ground as he charged forward; his black mane fluttering crazily in the rain.
The rest of the beastmen followed him fiercely.
“Die!”
The burly man appeared in front of Casio, his sharp claws swinging down swiftly. Brutal murderous intent resonated in his green beast-like eyes.
Boom!
“Huh?”
The burly man was bewildered. Suddenly, he found himself floating mid-air. Wasn’t he about to dispatch his opponent just now? What on earth was happening? His eyes moved downward and he found the towering figure standing on the muddy road, leisurely retracting his fist. In front of him was a headless body gushing blood. The blood spurted out like a fountain.
“That’s my body, so…so I…I’m dead?!”
The burly man’s head spun in mid-air, his eyelids blinking slower and slower. The last scene he saw was another strong werewolf being torn apart by a pair of large hands. Amidst the rain of blood, a gigantic shadow was cannoning towards them like a shell.
“The secret is all in the muscles AAAAAHHH!!!”
