Chapter 1090 - 1090 Breaking Through the Barrier (4000)

Chapter 1090: Breaking Through the Barrier (4000) Chapter 1090: Breaking Through the Barrier (4000) June 10th, five days had passed.

The Demon Figure Sect, God’s Tear Lake.

Golden sunlight, like huge dragons peering from the clouds, exhaled and poured out a cascade of brilliant rays. Lake ripples stirred, causing a shimmering dance of light. A cool breeze skimmed the lake surface, sweeping over it in an instant, pausing ever so slightly in front of a wooden boat as if blocked by a barrier.

Splash, the boat swayed, sending ripples spreading on both sides.

A figure in a black cloak sat silently cross-legged, utterly motionless. When breathing, his chest seemed not to rise or fall, completely undisturbed, appearing like a cold, rigid sculpture.

As time moved on, the sun gradually changed its course, rising swiftly from the horizon. Naturally, the shadows of all objects rotated and shifted.

The wooden boat remained in place.

A mountain-like massive dark shadow slowly approached, eventually covering both the boat and a vast area of the lake surface, blocking the sunlight. From outside the shadow, one could see that it was claw-shaped. Only this claw had been magnified a thousandfold.

“Crack, crack, crack, crack…”

A series of fracturing sounds echoed from the center of the lake.

On the boat, the cloaked figure who had remained motionless suddenly opened his eyes and looked up, revealing the face of Otto. With a whoosh, he stood up, turned slightly, and gazed toward the Heart of Lake Island.

It was a ring-shaped island at the very center of God’s Tear Lake, nothing remarkable about it usually. However, now huge plumes of black smoke burst forth, spreading wildly as though thousands of tentacles, enveloping the entire island. Beside Heart of Lake Island, a bone weapon, massive as a pillar of heaven, appeared to be piercing the sky.

This was the Beast God Soldier that Casio, the Demon Figure Gate Master, had brought back five days before.

At this moment, the Beast God Soldier had drastically changed. Originally, the weapon was a fierce scarlet color, with holes from which terrifying black smoke billowed. Five claws could freely combine into a battle axe, claw, or fist imprint. When fully awakened, it could even transform into a flesh and blood claw of the Beast God!

But now, in Otto’s eyes, the Beast God Soldier looked like an ancient tree on the brink of collapse, its strength completely depleted.

The scarlet was replaced by a pallid hue, a dim light. The black smoke had vanished, as if drained by something. Of the five ferocious claws, only one remained, a lone survivor standing tall as a pillar.

The life source of the Dark Ultimate Body within the Beast God Soldier was utterly exhausted.

“Crack, crack, crack, crack…”

In mid-air, the last remaining claw began to fracture inch by inch.

On the surface of the white osseous finger, large chunks of debris peeled away. Some fell into the lake, splashing high waves, while others were whisked away by the wind, vanishing into powder finer than quicksand.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Beast God Soldier began to collapse entirely, like a mountain folding in on itself.

Large pieces of bone plunged into the lake, causing columns of water to shoot up toward the sky.

On the lake surface, shock waves surged quickly, spreading for miles in all directions. Otto’s wooden boat bobbed and swayed as if it were in the stormy deep sea. The Demon Figure Sect disciples stationed around the edge of God’s Tear Lake were affected too, soaked as if caught in a downpour, some even swept away by the waves. But being practitioners of the Secret Martial Art, they were certainly not at risk of drowning in such waves, merely scrambling to retreat and regroup.

On the lake, Otto stood firmly at the boat’s prow, his eyes fixed on the Heart of Lake Island. He watched for a long time, muttering to himself.

“The Sect Master’s aura has vanished…”

“I can no longer sense his presence!”

That same evening, at the Demon Figure Sect, God’s Tear Lake.

Otto stood on the lakeside, looking up at the sky. The setting sun gradually sunk into the sea of clouds, like a scorching fireball plunging into the abyss.

The light dimmed suddenly, turning the entire sky into a pitch-black canvas.

“Time’s up, the blood mist will take over my post,” Otto thought to himself, but his gaze suddenly sharpened. He looked deeply into the night sky, as if he had noticed something unusual. In the southern sky, a star was slowly brightening to a visible degree. Moreover, the glow of this star was faintly red. According to astrology, this signified strange, malevolent energy and combativeness.

A sign of ill omen.

However, that eerie star in the night sky held a charm as pure and captivating as a ruby in Otto’s eyes, making it impossible for one to look away, lost in its allure. Willingly bewitched, captured by it.

“Such a beautiful star…”

A sigh resonated beside Otto.

Startled, Otto shook his head, breaking free from his momentary trance. Turning to look, he realized that the Fog Man in a red cloak had arrived.

At that moment, he, too, was gazing up at the sky, utterly captivated.

Tonight, the moon was dim, stars few and far between. The brightest thing in the firmament was that ruby-like crimson star. In a trance, one could even have the illusion of a meteor falling from the sky, igniting flames as it descended.

“This is…” Otto squinted, looking up at the night sky again.

His eyes gradually widened, as if he saw something. It was a very vague contour, a raptor with wings spread, gliding downwards. And that brightening star was the creature’s left eye!
