Chapter 66: Becoming A Tutor
Chapter 66: Becoming A Tutor
"Becoming a tutor?" Nash fell into deep thought.
Becoming a tutor and working for William were two different things.
Working for such a big family meant Nash would have to give up his freedom, becoming a puppet who followed their every order.
But as a tutor, Nash could manage his own time and even decide what they’d work on.
Earning ten thousand void crystals was no small matter, either.
Although he had thousands of merit points, he couldn’t bear to exchange them for void crystals.
They were the foundation of his strength and survival in the Dark Plane.
Every point of merit had been earned through life-or-death battles.
Thinking of his debt in the real world, having an income of ten thousand void crystals every hour could set him for life.
"Fine, I can be your tutor. But I can only teach you in the virtual world."
Teaching in the real world would risk revealing his identity. On the other hand, teaching in the Dark Plane was too dangerous.
Don’t be fooled by how casually he cooked and ate in the middle of a danger zone, but his [Combat Module System] was fully active, and the [Sensing Module System] was on high alert.
As long as there was any disturbance, he could quickly get into battle, unaffected by what he was doing previously.
"Virtual world? That’s fine too."
Although he was in it for the food Nash cooked, William was also serious about learning his combat ability.
The way Nash effortlessly weaves through enemies, moving for the sake of killing, with no wasted energy, slaughtering against all odds, was something William deeply admired.
If he could learn Nash’s fighting style, the trials set by his father would be nothing.
After sealing the agreement, Nash gave William his virtual ID and planned to meet him at a later time.
Returning to the Lantern Shelter, they said their goodbyes and logged out.
At the Void Warrior rank, regardless of saturation rate, one could only stay in the Dark Plane for eight hours.
The soul was simply too fragile to be exposed in a different plane for a longer period of time.
This is also why the hunting grounds were always near shelters, allowing everyone to quickly return once time ran out.
Otherwise, logging out in the wild was far too dangerous.
Although the body would dematerialize upon logout, their smell and aura would linger, attracting dark beasts.
Once they logged back in, those beasts would be waiting, ready to pounce and devour them, leaving nothing behind.
---
Physical Plane – Earth.
Returning to his office, Nash activated the [Autonomous Module System] to handle all the government files while he focused on studying the remaining runic programs.
He had already planned to move to a 4 or 5-star danger zone for hunting.
The merits he earned around the Lantern Shelter just weren’t enough.
Although his progress was fast, it was only when compared to Void Warriors on Earth.
Compared to the top prodigies and elite, he was like a turtle crawling.
To survive and thrive in a tougher hunting ground, Nash needed to boost his combat and survival skills.
In this plan, his first choice was to enhance the capability of the [Sensing Module System].
Now that he could see the flow of void energy with his own eyes, it was time to use that ability to its fullest.
It was a tough project that would take time, but the payoff was worth it.
Just as his body finished processing the day’s files and he was about to begin his daily training, his intercom rang.
"Camilla? What’s the matter?"
They hadn’t seen each other in three months. He was surprised she called.
"Come to the usual place. Don’t be late."
"I’ll be right there." Nash clicked his tongue, thinking Camilla was still as demanding as ever.
---
Virtual World – Camilla’s Private Virtual Space
"You’re here." Camilla finally saw Nash.
For the past few months, she was going with the elites of the Nova Military Academy, hunting and fighting in the Dark Plane until they couldn’t stand it anymore.
Unlike others who were limited to eight hours, they could take soul potions to extend their time in the Dark Plane.
Camilla and the other elites of the Nova Military Academy only have time for eating and sleeping; the rest is used to kill dark beasts.
With barely any time for herself, this was the first time she had the time to call Nash.
"You’ve gotten stronger, Captain..." Nash muttered, sensing the intense void energy flowing through her body.
"Hmm, I’m already at 150% saturation," Camilla said proudly.
"Too fast!"
Although he knew Camilla had passed 100%, it still shocked him that she reached 150% saturation so quickly.
"Hahaha. If you want to catch up, just tell this sister of yours," Camilla laughed, enjoying Nash’s praise.
"I have my own way..."
"Own way?"
Camilla suddenly looked at him closely, sensing his strength had also increased.
"You’ve gotten stronger, too? Did you go into the Dark Plane?" Camilla frowned.
Unlike her, Nash didn’t have the academy’s backing.
Going into the Dark Plane alone was incredibly dangerous.
"Yes. If I want to catch up to you, I have to take bigger risks."
"You—!"
Touched and worried, Camilla’s expression deepened with concern.
"No need to persuade me. This is my path. Besides, I take my life seriously. I’ve promised not to go into dangerous areas without certainty," Nash said, noticing she was about to lecture him.
"Fine, if that’s what you want."
Seeing the look in Nash’s eyes, Camilla knew she couldn’t change his mind.
Just like her, once Nash decided something, no one could stop him.
With nothing else to say, Camilla began sharing her experience in the Dark Plane.
She told Nash about the dos and don’ts, places to avoid, hidden rules most people missed, powers not to offend, special dark beasts, and more.
Soon, tired of talking, Camilla stood up and grinned.
"Spar with me?"
"I don’t want to get beaten." Nash quickly shook his head.
If he didn’t go all out, he’d be asking for a thrashing.
"Hehe, you don’t get to decide that!"
Before he could say another word, Camilla attacked.
"Too much!"
Feeling the danger, Nash quickly dodged and ran to escape.
"Oh? You can still dodge that? As expected!"
Wanting to show Nash the dangers of the Dark Plane, Camilla came at full force, wanting to beat sense into him.
Sure enough, Nash was soon overwhelmed and beaten, unable to dodge her barrage of attacks.
"Enough, I surrender..." Nash muttered in a daze.
"Hmph! The dark beasts are more dangerous than this! If you don’t want to die, be careful."
"Hmmm..."
