I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 134: Julius, The Prodigy

Chapter 134: Julius, The Prodigy

Caught in the devastation, Andres’s bright future turned to gloom.

Fortunately, that was all over now, and he was ready to start a new life in Eastdam State.

After talking more about the situation of the assessment, Julius and the others headed to the temporary shelter to rest.

Traveling thousands of miles on foot wasn’t easy. Walking 20 hours a day, if not for their willpower sustaining them, they might have collapsed long ago.

Lying on the comfortable beds, it felt as if heaven itself was lulling them to sleep.

---

The next day, after drinking a nutrient potion, they gathered for the assessment.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., three individual assessments would accommodate the crowd.

Going in the first batch, Julius and his fellow students wished each other good luck.

Seated at a desk, Julius soon received a thick stack of test papers.

"You have three hours to answer everything. If you don’t know the answer, skip it to save time," the invigilator instructed.

"The test covers politics, mathematics, science, technology, and engineering."

"Just answer what you can, it won’t affect your final score."

Nodding at the instructions, they began browsing the test papers, searching for their strongest fields.

Skimming the test, Julius couldn’t help but frown.

It included multiple-choice, identification, problem-solving, and essay questions.

Julius thought it would be easy, but aside from a few straightforward questions at the start, each one grew increasingly complex.

Even the toughest tests at Athens Academy seemed like child’s play compared to these.

"Tsk, I wonder who made this. So clever!" Julius thought, intrigued.

Feeling challenged, he stretched his hands, ready for battle.

But recalling he had only three hours, he realized one pen wouldn’t be enough.

"Can you give me another pen?" Julius asked a passing invigilator.

"Is your pen not working?"

"No, I need another to write faster."

"Write faster?" Though puzzled, the invigilator handed him another pen.

Soon, to the invigilator’s shock, Julius categorized the test papers on the table and answered them simultaneously.

Each hand seemed to move with a mind of its own, tackling questions independently.

A quick glance, and his hands magically scrawled the answers.

"This... this..." The invigilator stood frozen, a mix of awe and horror in his heart.

Other invigilators grew curious and slowly gathered around Julius.

Fact-checking his answers, they felt they were witnessing the birth of a prodigy.

Meanwhile, Julius was fully absorbed in the questions.

As his hands switched between papers, his mind rapidly identified and calculated answers.

Coming to the hard part of the test, his brain began to burn rapidly.

Sweating buckets, eyes red from exhaustion, he pressed on as if facing his greatest enemy.

At that moment, he forgot everything, his goals, his past, his identity, even his name.

So engrossed, Julius didn’t notice his body weakening.

Deprived of nutrients for months, the intense mental effort began to take its toll.

As his mind grew cloudy and his hands slowed from fatigue, Julius refused to give up.

Like a gamer facing the final boss, he couldn’t stop until he saw the shining emblem of victory.

Forcing his body to keep going, Julius bit his tongue, tasting his own blood to quench his thirst.

Coming back to his senses, he managed to push on a little longer and scribbled his final answer.

"Done!"

As if completing his life’s mission, Julius’s body gave out, slumping onto the table, unconscious.

Snapping out of their daze, the invigilators rushed to help him.

"It’s bad—his pulse is fading fast!"

"No! Get him to the medical ward! We can’t let a genius like this die!"

In less than an hour, Julius had finished a test that should’ve taken hours to complete.

Ignoring the other examinees, they hurried him to the temporary medical ward.

Checking his pulse, the doctor began emergency treatment.

When it didn’t work, the doctor pulled out a low-grade healing potion and injected it into Julius’s body.

But feeling the pulse still weakening, the doctor shook his head.

"It’s over. This kid can’t be saved. His body’s shutting down."

"What?! Can’t you do something to save him?"

"He’s a genius! We can’t let him die!"

"There’s nothing I can do. With this rudimentary equipment, even the god of medicine couldn’t save him."

"Is there any other option?"

"There is. In his condition, only a top-grade healing potion could save him."

According to his test, Julius’ brain was already turning to mush, as his cells began to break down.

First time hearing such a condition, the doctor didn’t know if a mid-grade or a high-grade healing potion was enough.

"Top-grade healing potion?!"

Hearing that a top-grade potion was needed, they couldn’t help but sigh.

Such potions cost billions of arls. Even void warriors couldn’t access such a life-saving potion, so how could they?

Perhaps only the Chancellor had such resources.

Cursing the unfairness of fate, they could only watch as a genius slipped away.

But fortune seemed to favor Julius as a commanding figure arrived.

"State Secretary! why are you here?!" they greeted, shocked.

"With a genius like this, how could I not come?" Amber smiled.

The commotion Julius caused had reached her ears just minutes into the test.

After confirming his identity, Amber realized a prodigy had arrived at their doorstep.

Though unknown to most, Julius was a rising star who had continuously broken multiple records in the thousand-year history of the Athens Academy.

Verifying his identity, Amber dropped everything and rushed to the assessment site from Eastdam City.

Seeing the boy’s pale body, teetering on the edge of death, Amber sighed in relief.

"Fortunately, I arrived in time!"

Rummaging through her bag, she pulled out a vial of top-grade healing potion.

"Is that a top-grade healing potion?!"

"What do you think?" Amber grinned, preparing a syringe to inject it into Julius’s body.

With Nash’s backing, a top-grade healing potion was nothing.

Soon after the injection, color returned to Julius’s body as he slowly regained consciousness.

Glancing around, Julius pieced together what had happened.

"Did I get a perfect score...?"
