Chapter 1687: Chapter 729: Strength Positioning, Settling into Donghuang Chapter 1687: Chapter 729: Strength Positioning, Settling into Donghuang In response to the question posed by the Calamity Tao Ancestor, Han Yi fell silent for a moment before replying:
“Against an Outer Path being, I need not rely on the Immortal Court’s Tao Array; I can handle it myself.”
“As for a Combined Dao being, that would require further verification since I have never crossed hands with one at the Unity Realm Stage.”
Han Yi did not make overly confident assertions.
More than two hundred years ago, in the Chaotic Ancient Dao Domain, he ventured to the site where a Heavenly Sovereign had fallen, near the sea of fire, to investigate. There, he was pursued by a Destroyer of External Dao Level, and after more than a decade, he finally escaped.
That was the first time he had engaged in a confrontation with a being of the Outer Path Realm. Since then, in the Primordial Demon Dao Domain, he clashed with an Outer Path cultivator from the Emperor Xuan Dao Sect at the ruins of Ashen Mountain. Outside the passage to the Ancestral God Domain, he also battled Outer Path beings.
Upon reaching the Ancestral God Domain, in the mystical ruins where he obtained the Purple Extreme Origin Crystal, he even managed to slay a cultivator with a Physical Body of the Outer Path Realm from the Nine Netherworlds, relying on his strength at the Infinite low-level.
After leaving those ruins, traversing half the Ancestral God Domain and half of the Fuheng Taoist Area, Han Yi had, through the enhanced strength from his Life Seeds, forcefully slain an Outer Path Realm cultivator.
It could be said that now, against ordinary Outer Path beings, he possessed the strength to execute them. Against those at the peak level, even if he could not kill them, he should at least be able to suppress them, or at the very least, match them in strength or only be slightly inferior.
As for beings above the Combined Dao, on this journey, although he had encountered several Dao Realm Cultivators of the Harmonization level, he had no opportunity to witness these cultivators in combat nor had the chance to battle them.
That was why he was so cautious with his response.
Upon hearing Han Yi’s words, the grave expressions on the faces of Calamity and Xuan Zang gradually relaxed, while Fei Yu’s expression flickered, and he silently thought to himself, “Just as expected.”
Han Yi’s response fell within the expectations of Calamity and Xuan Zang because not long after Han Yi entered the Dao Realm, he was capable of hunting down the Myriad Dynasties Taoist Ancestor of the Daoist Fruit Realm. Now, having ascended to the Daoist Fruit level, and his aura appearing stable, not freshly broken through, facing Outer Path beings with such combat power was certainly not a tall tale.
If it were other Dao Fruits, neither of them would have entertained such a notion.
The three steps within the Dao Realm are each worlds apart. To contend with the External Dao Level at the Daoist Fruit stage requires overwhelmingly strong and comprehensive combat power, especially when facing the Outer Path Dharma. An average Daoist Fruit would undoubtedly find it difficult to withstand.
The aforementioned three steps of the Dao Realm do not include the Combined Dao.
The Unity Realm Stage is rather unique; it is a transitional state that surpasses the Outer Path and is only half-step away from the Heavenly Sovereign.
Therefore, within the Chaos, some powers refer to the masters of the Unity Realm level as Half-step Venerates.
Han Yi only understood that cultivators of the Outer Path Realm have unified the Dao Fruit and the Dao Realm into one, becoming external path beings and thus possessing the Outer Path Dharma. The power of this Dharma is extremely intimidating to anyone below the level of Outer Path, which makes it typically difficult for those at the Daoist Fruit level to match Outer Path cultivators.
However, merging the Outer Path with the Inner Path, and fully unifying them, is to reach Harmonization.
The Inner Path referred to here means the fusion of the Tao Body and the Tao Soul.
As such, cultivators at the Unity Realm Stage are the embodiment of fruit, realm, body, and soul in Unity, and the Outer Path Dharma thus transforms into the Combined Dao Dharma.
Unlike Outer Path Realm cultivators, Combined Dao Dharma is not the most powerful asset at the Combined Dao level.
Because after ascending to Harmonization, a cultivator’s ability to harness Chaotic Power is much stronger than that of an Outer Path Realm cultivator.
Chaotic Power is indeed the most formidable asset of those in the Unity Realm Stage.
For cultivators in either the Daoist Fruit Realm or the Outer Path Realm, they can summon only a wisp or a strand of Chaotic Power, which is minuscule to the extreme.
And yet,
At the level of Heavenly Sovereigns, the unit of Chaotic Power is not a wisp or a strand, but rather the ability to mobilize or shift a range of Chaotic Power.
For example, for a typical Heavenly Sovereign who has just ascended, the range of Chaotic Power they can mobilize is around ten thousand miles.
Do not dismiss the ‘ten thousand miles’ as too small a measure; if one is only gauging distance, naturally it’s quite insignificant. Even low-level cultivators like those at the Golden Core or Nascent Soul Levels could easily traverse ten thousand miles.
However, Chaotic Power is different; within the Dao Domain, it stands as one of the most supreme forces, far surpassing laws, rules, and Tao Principles.
Truly mobilizing ten thousand miles of Chaotic Power would cause ordinary worlds to collapse under the pressure of the Chaotic Power, burst apart, and even for great worlds like the Extreme Ancient, Chaotic Power can cause tremendous destruction. Without intervention, allowing Chaotic Power to rampage would trigger the premature onset of a world-ending calamity.
Another key reason why those at the Unity Realm Stage are also called Half-step Venerates is because after Harmonization, one can start to mobilize Chaotic Power.
And although what they can muster is nowhere near the range of ten thousand miles, even the weakest among them can control a hundred-meter area.
Summoning Chaotic Power over a hundred-meter area does not mean that their attack range is only within a hundred meters; rather, they could imbue a Tao Artifact with the Chaotic Power of a hundred-meter area, or infuse Tao Skills with Chaotic Power, upgrading to a Half-step Chaos Skill, thereby unleashing might far surpassing normal Dao Skills.
That is why the Combined Dao realm is so powerful.
If it were any other realm, even an Outer Path facing Harmonization would be overwhelmingly outmatched, after all, the might of the Outer Path Dharma’s associated Chaotic Power is measured in ‘paths,’ which is far less than that of the Unity Realm Stage.
But with Han Yi, it was different. While at the general Daoist Level, when he cast the Void Sword Realm, he was able to evoke wisps of Chaotic Power, which he attached to his Tao Sword, thereby executing Daoist Fruit level adversaries.
