Chapter 611: Chapter 611: Do You Want Me to Give You a Great Name?
He Jingyao knelt on one knee, looking directly into the little guy’s eyes, his face void of any emotion, but his eyes were pitch black and very deep.
The little guy, overwhelmed by his aura, didn’t dare to breathe heavily and nervously opened his mouth wide.
"Xiaobao," He Jingyao called out his name softly, "would you like me to give you an official name, hmm?"
The little guy rolled his eyes and chuckled, "No, no need... I’ll wait for my dad to name me."
"Is that so," He Jingyao curled the corners of his lips slightly, "but just now, didn’t you call me ’dad’ very smoothly, hmm?"
"That was... that was to go along with you." Xiaobao thought quickly and used the word He Jingyao had just mentioned.
He Jingyao stretched out his hand to pinch his cheek, looking into his eyes: "Do you know Su Zixi? Or should I say, Gu Zhixi?"
"No... I don’t know!" Xiaobao continued to chuckle, but his little face was clearly written with the word "guilty."
By asking this, He Jingyao already had a clear idea in his heart.
He pursed his lips tightly, feeling his heartbeat speeding up, and for a moment, he didn’t know what to feel.
If this child was really his, then what did that mean... what did it mean?
Touched? Surprised? Unbelievable?
It seemed like all of the above, yet none of the above.
His fingers twitched slightly as he stared at the little guy’s panicked expression and suddenly let out a raspy chuckle.
Xiaobao, frightened by him, stretched out his little chubby hands to cover his eyes: "I won’t say anything!"
If daddy figured it out on his own, then it had nothing to do with him.
He Jingyao caught his hands and held them in his palms. The little guy’s hands were soft and plump, stirring up an indescribable emotion in his heart.
This emotion was so foreign that it made his eyes feel somewhat warm.
"Xiaobao," he spoke again.
"What’s up..." he asked cautiously.
He Jingyao’s Adam’s apple moved, and he let out a wry chuckle: "It’s nothing."
After speaking, he picked up the little guy. He had held this child many times before, but never had the sensation felt so indescribable as now.
He closed his eyes for a moment, restraining the complex and turbulent emotions within his chest.
The little guy obediently wrapped his arms around his neck, his voice soft and sweet: "Are... are you angry?"
"...No," He Jingyao’s voice was hoarse as he carried him upstairs to the washroom.
He placed Xiaobao on the washbasin, put his little hands under the tap—Xiaobao had been gripping the buns with his hands while eating and hadn’t washed them yet, which left He Jingyao’s hand smeared with oil.
He silently applied hand soap to the little guy’s hands and meticulously scrubbed them.
Xiaobao was somewhat dazed.
Daddy didn’t seem to be angry, but he didn’t seem particularly happy either... What exactly was daddy thinking?
He watched in the mirror as his dad washed his hands, head lowered, his own expression even more confused.
"All done." He Jingyao dried his hands with a towel and then pinched his little cheek, "Next time, don’t eat food just with your hands, got it?"
He nodded quickly, his eyes a bit tense.
He Jingyao chuckled, carrying him back to the bedroom: "Don’t be scared, I’m not going to hit you."
"Uncle, you... you actually hit people!" Xiaobao looked at him incredulously.
No sooner had the words left his mouth than he received a flick on his head.
"What did you call me?"
