Chapter 90: Chapter 059: Crazy Shopping

"Who among you knows where there’s a territory nearby? How far is it from Hope Village?" Bayer looked at the group of people in front of him and asked directly.

"I know, I know, I came from Guangshui Village. I know the way there; it took us two days to get here, but now, maybe a day’s time will be enough."

"I’m aware of Yuxi Village; it’s about half a day’s journey from here."

"Qinghe Village, a little over a day away. The situation there is quite chaotic. If you’re recruiting, I think it’s a very suitable place. And I know a few friends there who have been wanting to leave but couldn’t because of their families. If you were there, you could ensure their safety, and they would definitely be willing to leave."

"The situation in Yuxi Village isn’t too bad, but maybe because of its good location, there are many people gathered, and the competition is fierce, which puts a lot of pressure on those at the bottom. It’s also quite suitable for recruiting."

"..."

Everyone spoke one after another, revealing the value of the information they provided.

Bayer kept all those who could name a village and said, "The rest of you can leave!"

After hearing this, some Professionals reluctantly walked away.

However, Zhong Yongnian stubbornly stayed behind.

Bayer’s gaze swept over and landed on him, "Do you have something else?"

Faced with Bayer’s oppressive gaze, Zhong Yongnian quickly spoke up: "Although I don’t know the location of other territories, I assure you my presence has value."

As he spoke, Zhong Yongnian showed the backpack he was carrying; when he opened it, there wasn’t just one backpack, but a pile.

And these were all new orange backpacks from the tailor shop, each with 10 slots, priced at 1 Gold Coin each. So many of them amounted to at least 5 Gold Coins. What was he planning to do?

"What are you trying to do?" Bayer asked directly, curious to see what kind of answer this man could provide.

"If we go there in such an ostentatious manner to recruit people, and given how special you are, wouldn’t it take time for others to trust us and thus cause delays? But it’s different if we go there for trade," Zhong Yongnian said enthusiastically. "I’ve brought cheap food, cheap clothes, and cheap weapons. Just take these to other territories, and they’d see the strength of our terrirtory. Then it won’t be us chasing them, but them desperately wanting to follow us!"

Listening to Zhong Yongnian’s words, Bayer and the other NPCs didn’t react much, but the few Residents temporarily selected couldn’t help but mentally kneel before Zhong Yongnian’s brilliance.

Awesome, that’s just awesome!

Think about how much money he’s going to make with this!

"The other day, I heard that a team was buying up Iron Axes and Long Spears at low prices. Those are just Bronze Level, they can’t compare to Silver Level. Many people in the territory want Silver Level equipment, so when someone was buying, they sold. That team was led by Zhong Yongnian."

"Really impressive! I’m tempted just hearing about it. Do you think we still have time to stock up now?"

"We could buy some materials and food, but for weapons— the big ticket items—it’s probably too late!"

"And we can only carry so much! Those orange backpacks have basically been out of stock since they hit the market. I thought my current backpack was sufficient, so I didn’t spend the money. I had no idea it would be so useful!"

"..."

After listening to Zhong Yongnian and hearing the others’ discussions, Bayer felt as if an entire new world had opened up.

"You do have the potential of a mobile merchant," Bayer said, looking at Zhong Yongnian, "Stay!"

A mobile merchant is the only profession welcome in all territories that involves doing business between different territories, relatively speaking, of course.

After asking a few more questions, they decided on the team that would accompany them.

However, once the quota was confirmed, those chosen residents couldn’t help but speak up.

"Could you give us a little bit of time? We feel that the preparations we’ve made aren’t quite enough?"

Their eyes all glinted with eager anticipation, one after the other.

Everyone knew that flipping goods was a highly profitable trade! Many might have nodded at the idea in the past, but lacking the strength to dominate in this world, they had to put it aside. But now, going on an official trip was an excellent opportunity!

Not just the residents, but even the Undead NPCs and Beastman NPCs behind Bayer were tempted.

Their wages were decent, but to live even better within the territory, they needed money—after all, who would ever complain about having too much of it?

Heidi cleared her throat and said from the sidelines, "Bayer, I don’t think we’re in such a rush."

After Heidi finished speaking, Tiger-man O’Neill could hardly wait to jump out and agree, "Exactly, exactly."

O’Neill had never thought such a tactic was possible. The brains of these humans were really useful; now he could follow suit and get a taste of the broth.

Seeing how eager everyone was, Bayer simply said, "You have 20 minutes."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than people started joyously running towards the grocery store and residential area.

The Undead NPCs were even quicker than them.

As for Zhong Yongnian, he had almost finished preparing and was in no hurry.

He hadn’t anticipated that the items he prepared for new residents would come in so handy, and now it was his turn to make a substantial profit.

And so, the leisurely Zhong Yongnian was now the focus of O’Neill’s attention.

"Do you have time to take us shopping? In exchange, I’ll protect you on the way," O’Neill said directly to Zhong Yongnian.

Hearing O’Neill’s proposal of getting something for nothing, Zhong Yongnian couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his mouth. However, considering the Beastman NPCs were indeed strong, he figured there was no harm in befriending them.

He agreed immediately.

Moments later, this group of people became noticeably active in the otherwise sparse territory.

The grocery store, Blacksmith Shop, tailor shop, residential area—everywhere was filled with their presence.

They only had one thing to do.

Shop, shop, shop!

While they were indulging in their shopping spree, Zhou Bai, who was gathering materials outside, kept receiving restocking notifications.

"Dear Host, please restock your Territory Building·Restaurant with steamed buns as soon as possible."

"Dear Host, please restock your Territory Building·Grocery Store with item *, item *,..."

After restocking twice the original amount, and immediately receiving similar notifications, she had to increase the amount several times over.

One after another, these prompts sparked her curiosity—what on earth was happening in her territory?

Before long, she realized this was happening not just with the steamed buns and grocery stores; the Blacksmith Shops and tailor shops were likely the same because the Gold Coins in her account were rising continuously, at a rate that couldn’t be driven by steamed buns alone.

Recalling today’s activity in the territory, the image of Zhong Yongnian, whom she had just encountered, came to her mind. Diana had mentioned a couple of days ago that Zhong Yongnian had bought a good number of orange backpacks she had made. Also, Zhong Yongnian had been purchasing previously used bronze weapons in the territory. She quickly surmised a possibility.

Had Zhong Yongnian joined the expedition to trade with other territories and inadvertently rallied the whole team?

Realizing this, Zhou Bai smiled slightly.

Turned out there were quite a few talented individuals in the territory!

Looking at the special materials she had already collected from the snow, Zhou Bai turned and headed back toward the territory—it was just the right time to go back and take a look.
