Chapter 360: Chapter 207: The Goblin Clan Wants to Take a Gamble_3

"There’s no guarantee in this," Mills said reluctantly. He was still afraid of being deceived.

"You have even less assurance remaining here. Humans are endlessly cunning. Do you know how the mercenaries from Delisha City captured the Beastman? It’s because they devised equipment to pinpoint the Beastman’s presence. If they can locate a Beastman, who’s to say they can’t develop something to locate a goblin?" Victor hoped to settle the matter once and for all, for with every passing moment, there was increased potential for further complications.

Mills watched as Victor tackled and dismissed his concerns one by one and came to view Victor’s abilities in a new light.

The discussion had reached this point.

And so, it was time... to take a chance!

"I will go back and call our people. Is it acceptable for you to wait here for me?" Mills spoke up.

Victor was taken aback by the question, "Just the two of us?"

"Yes," Mills said emphatically.

Victor peered deeply into his eyes and ultimately nodded, "Alright, then we will wait for you at the foot of the mountain."

If all he said had not dispelled Mills’ doubts, then it could only mean they were not fated for Hope Village.

The village chief had also instructed that if they tried their best and the other party was still unwilling, they were not to force the issue and should return to their territory promptly.

Mills was startled for a moment.

If they went to the base of the mountain and his tribe indeed planned to flee, the other party would certainly not be able to catch up in time.

Was he that confident?

Or was it that even if they fled, the other party would not care?

Realizing this, Mills felt a heaviness in his heart.

Then, watching Victor descend the mountain, Mills turned to prepare to return to the gathering site.

However, on the way, Mills asked the goblin Harley, "What do you think about what they said?"

Harley, entirely confused at first, finally voiced his thoughts after catching up, "If Hope Village is really as they describe, then it is indeed a good place to settle. Clan Leader, the truth is they have left us so much. Even if they have ulterior motives, their actions have been different from the other Humans."

From this, a little more trust could be afforded.

"Of course, what matters most is the Clan Leader’s decision. Whatever you plan to do, we will follow your lead," Harley continued.

They all knew that the safety they had enjoyed thus far was the Clan Leader’s achievement.

Their days were poor, but they had secured freedom.

Compared to their kin, whose fates in Human Territory were unknown, they lived a good life.

Hearing Harley’s utterly trusting words, Mills acknowledged softly.

They soon returned to the gathering site.

There, Lap had already organized all the goblins, waiting for Mills’ signal to hide deep in the mountains.

Yet unexpectedly, after a long wait, they saw Mills’ figure approaching.

Seeing him, Lap was overjoyed.

The Clan Leader was safe. That was such a relief.

"Clan Leader, you’ve returned. Shall we leave immediately? What about the Humans?" Lap couldn’t help but ask.

As Lap spoke, the other goblins began to stir uneasily.

Many of the little goblins clung to their parents’ thighs.

Even the adult goblins couldn’t help but show fear on their faces.

The word "Human" seemed to them like a nightmare.

"We are going to leave, but not to hide in the deep mountains. We’re going to Human Territory," said Mills. He had already been considering it, and seeing his people panicked at the mention of Humans, he truly made up his mind.

With Mills’ announcement, the goblins were completely baffled.

How could they possibly go to Human Territory?

"Clan Leader, what did they say?" Lap was not foolish and quickly understood that the Clan Leader had been persuaded. He urgently inquired,

He believed that the Clan Leader was considering the welfare of their Goblin Clan. However, to reassure the others, Lap naturally needed to prompt Mills to explain and soothe the nerves of the goblin residents.

Naturally, Mills understood and thus began to speak about Hope Village.

"In Hope Village, we will exist as residents, live within it, accept employment from the territory, and in return, the territory will protect us. We can settle down in this territory, no longer having to wander from place to place."

"Really?"

"Can Humans be trusted?"

"What if they’re tricking us into going to the territory then sell us off?"

"But the Clan Leader has said so, and there must be reasons for it. I trust the Clan Leader."

"I don’t distrust the Clan Leader, I’m just afraid that Humans are too cunning."
