I Become a Landlady in the Game World -
Chapter 114 - 073: Level 2 Village
Chapter 114: Chapter 073: Level 2 Village
Two days later, on the 29th day since the Doomsday Game began, several days of heavy snow finally ended.
In the dark early hours, Zhou Bai, after recruiting today’s share of NPCs, eagerly started to upgrade his territory.
"Dear Host, would you like to upgrade the Level 1 Village to a Level 2 Village?"
"Yes."
With Zhou Bai’s response, the Lord panel brought him a new notification.
"Congratulations, Host. Your territory has been upgraded from Level 1 Village to Level 2 Village, the territory area has doubled, additional +2 buildings unlocked, and a reward of 20,000 Copper Coins."
With the notification came a brand new control panel.
[Territory: Hope Village]
[Level: Level 2 Village (Upgrade)]
[Population: 1102/5000]
[Area: 2000 mu]
[Tax Rate: 10% (adjustable)]
[Wealth: 992 Gold, 78 Silver, 12 Copper]
[Buildings: Lord Mansion (Level 2), Primary City Wall, Basic Blacksmith Shop, Restaurant, Basic Tailor Shop, Level 1 House, Second-level Residence, Special Building (Heroic Spirit Hall, Beast God Temple), Grocery Store, Basic Military Camp, Basic Watchtower, Prison]
[Mall: Exclusive to the territory, only provides materials]
[Contribution Mall: For residents of the territory, exchangeable only with Contribution]
[Current Ranking: 59 (provisional) (Regional Ranking)]
[Territory War: 1/1 (Number of Victories: 1) (Truce Period: 4 days)]
[Note: Territory can only be conquered by the Lord, Newbie Protection Period 1 month (Countdown: 1 day)]
Looking at the brand new control panel, Zhou Bai first checked the next upgrade requirements.
[Condition 1: Population reaches 5,000 (Unmet)]
[Condition 2: Territory Buildings reach 12 (Unmet)]
[Condition 3: Lord reaches lv.15 (Unmet)]
There were no new upgrade conditions; it was still about population, buildings, and the Lord’s level. The latter two conditions were manageable, but this time the population was causing Zhou Bai some trouble.
The data from regional rankings already showed that thousands have received the Lord Token since the Doomsday Game went live.
Also, judging from the rate at which her territory was attracting people, she was certain about one thing: the Doomsday Game might not have brought all Blue Star people online, but selectively chosen a portion. This was evident from the demographic composition of her territory, which was mainly young adults, with few elderly and children.
The distribution of these online survivors was probably also uneven.
Regardless of other territories, at least in Hope Village, the distribution ratio of people was relatively small.
Under such circumstances, it would be quite difficult for Hope Village to attract such a large number of survivors unless a nearby territory was breached by a Beast Tide, causing a sudden influx of people.
But then a new problem came to mind.
If it’s not possible to have that many people, why would population be a condition for territory upgrades?
Unless... in addition to the survivors from Blue Star, there might be native residents appearing.
Once this thought occurred to her, she couldn’t stop pondering it.
In fact, there had already been hints.
Whether her guess was right would be seen once the Newbie Protection Period ended, and the changes in the Doomsday Game system would be revealed. In one or two days, all would become clear.
Bringing her thoughts back, Zhou Bai’s attention returned to the unlockable buildings.
She unlocked the Warehouse and farmland without a moment’s hesitation.
These had been planned early on.
Especially the Warehouse, as her home was piling up with far too many backpacks.
"Would you like to spend 10 Gold Coins, 1000 units of wood, and 2000 stone materials to unlock Level 1 Warehouse?"
"Would you like to spend 1 Gold Coin to unlock Level 1 farmland (repeatable reclamation)?"
"Yes."
"Both Warehouse and farmland have been unlocked; please commence placement."
Looking at the displayed Lord Map and the two building icons, Zhou Bai placed the Warehouse directly to the right of the Blacksmith Shop. As for the farmland, it was positioned to the north behind the Lord Mansion, where a large stretch of land had not yet been utilized. Zhou Bai’s initial planning had designated the north side as a production area, where future planting, breeding, and industry would be situated, so it had been left vacant until now, finally serving a purpose.
After the placement was complete, the system sent a new notification.
"Territory now equipped with Warehouse, would you like to connect it to the territorial buildings?"
"Yes."
"Connection complete, please begin item transfer."
Zhou Bai listened and promptly started transferring items from her backpack into the Warehouse.
Unexpectedly, the transfer was only half done when she discovered the Warehouse was already full.
Fortunately, the Warehouse suggested it could be upgraded, so Zhou Bai spent over seventy Gold Coins to upgrade the Level 1 Warehouse to a Basic Warehouse.
After the full transfer was complete, another reminder followed.
