I Became The Vampire Progenitor -
Chapter 214-3: Sisters – Niko and Nilo (Part 3)
Li De turned his head to look at the pleasantly surprised Niko and spoke slowly.
“Niko, in the name of the Patriarch of the Saintlight Vampires, the Lord of Dawn City, and the Master of the Dawn Order, I hereby appoint you as the Cardinal Archbishop of the Dawn Order, responsible for its administration.
At the same time, I appoint you as Assistant to the City Hall Chairman, to support Chairman Harrison in managing Dawn City.”
A girl with such flexible thinking, unbound by the mental framework of Glory, and possessing sharp intelligence and spiritual intuition. Li De was very satisfied.
He had decided to cultivate her.
And most importantly, she was Nilo’s sister. That alone made her worth the investment.
Nilo was arguably the person closest to him. Her faith in him surpassed life and death, transcending good and evil. That kind of relationship was closer than any blood tie.
“Praise your generosity, Lord Kachar~” The girl said excitedly, her face lighting up with joy at receiving Li De’s acknowledgment.
With that matter settled, Li De turned to Nilo. Every time he looked into her faintly golden eyes, a sense of solemnity welled up inside him.
Any stray thoughts in his heart would instantly vanish, it was more effective than post-nut clarity.
“Nilo, what was it you came to City Hall for a few days ago?”
“Your Majesty, I was hoping you could grant me a portion of your power so I can promote more Dawn Priests.”
When Nilo brought up the topic, her expression turned serious.
“The Dawn Order currently lacks sufficient strength. Even if the city is perfectly safe, for the Order to continue developing, we need more Dawn Priests.”
Li De nodded slightly. Each promotion to Dawn Priest required 200 points of Faith Energy.
Until now, he had only promoted three. Compared to the vast scope of the Dawn Order, that number was a joke.
Never mind sending them to preach beyond the city, they couldn’t even handle the daily operations of the main hall.
“Grant you a portion of my power? How would I do that?” Li De asked awkwardly.
Even though he was the master of the Dawn Order, he’d barely managed it. He didn’t know much about how Faith Energy actually worked.
It was such a high-tier power system that trying to study it was like fumbling in the dark. So over time, he’d simply left it alone.
Nilo smiled gently. “Your Majesty, if you enter my Mental Sea through the spiritual imprint in your consciousness, you’ll know what to do.”
Li De nodded, and under the two girls’ watchful eyes, he closed his eyes and entered Nilo’s Mental Sea through the spiritual link between them.
Once inside, he immediately sensed her awareness.
Admiration, warmth, devotion, reverence…
Nilo’s consciousness was brimming with reverence for him. Like a child before a father… or a wife before her husband.
As their consciousnesses brushed, Nilo’s recent memories flowed into his mind without reservation.
He saw her preaching on the streets, healing the sick, spreading his greatness. It all played out before him like a vivid film.
But just as he was enjoying the show, scenes from her private life suddenly appeared, bright, white, unfiltered and he instantly backed out, red-faced.
Mmpf, what the hell, watching a girl bathe?! That’s too damn much...
Just as he exited her awareness, a surge of unfamiliar knowledge about Faith Energy flowed into him. How to access it, channel it, and bestow it.
His expression turned contemplative. So that’s how it works...
As a Holy Priest, Nilo had a spiritual resonance with him. In other Orders, such individuals were called Children of God.
Some gods could even descend through them, manifesting in the mortal plane using the Holy Priest’s body.
This was the legendary Divine Descent, a church’s ultimate trump card, made possible solely by Holy Priests.
Because of the spiritual compatibility, they felt no resistance to the god’s divine power. That allowed the god to channel their essence through them.
And when Nilo asked to “receive a portion of his power,” this was exactly what she meant.
Li De activated a portion of his divine permissions tied to the Dawn Order and granted them to Nilo.
It was a strange sensation, almost impossible to describe but he could feel himself unlocking something deep in his soul and allowing Nilo to access it.
He then set a limit: Nilo could use up to half of the Order’s monthly Faith Energy.
Currently, the Dawn Order generated about 1,500 points of Faith Energy per month, so Nilo could use around 800 points to develop the Order.
It wasn’t a vast amount, but it wasn’t insignificant either. After all, this was the product of over 7,000 believers praying for two weeks straight.
And to build up the Dawn Order, an investment was necessary.
Still… this meant he’d have to cut back on Dawn Bats.
Li De felt a headache coming on. Why is it always the things I need most that are the hardest to get?
And Faith Energy wasn’t something you could just farm or mine, it came only from true believers.
After thinking it over, he simply gave Nilo full control of the Faith Energy. If Dylon needed any to create more Dawn Bats, he could go through her.
Li De wouldn’t always be in Dawn City, and it was time to delegate. Nilo was more than worthy of that trust.
By the time he withdrew from her Mental Sea, he was still brooding over the scarcity of Faith Energy and didn’t notice that Nilo’s face was flushed deep red, her head bowed, and she couldn’t even look at him.
She had felt everything, how he had accidentally glimpsed her life over the past few weeks, including… those moments.
Just the thought made her cheeks burn even brighter.
“Nilo, Niko. The Dawn Order is in your hands now.”
“Niko, when managing an organization, the most important thing is establishing a robust system. Individuals may make mistakes, but a robust system can prevent most of them.
The Dawn Order will only continue to grow. I need you to tailor a system that fits our actual conditions.
I’ll have Harrison assist you. If you’re uncertain, you can spend time in City Hall to study how to manage a city.”
Li De stood up and walked to the girls, eyes full of approval as he looked at the younger sister.
“Niko, you’re extremely gifted. But talent is just the beginning. You need to work hard to turn talent into strength.
Everyone’s path is different. You don’t need to become a Holy Priest like your sister. You can excel in your own way and maybe even surpass her in some fields.
Work hard. Don’t let me down.”
He reached out and gently ruffled her shiny black hair, smiling warmly.
This clever girl had truly stirred his desire to nurture a prodigy. With some training, she could absolutely match Vina, who managed the Crimson Mage Tower.
Just like that tower, the Dawn Order had infinite potential and it needed a leader with creativity and vision.
The Order’s job was to help Dawn City reach greater heights. And while it had done well so far, its future required even greater effort.
Under his deep gaze, Niko’s eyes sparkled, her whole face glowing with excitement. She nodded eagerly.
“Lord Kachar, I won’t let you down. I’ll be your assistant, just like my sister.”
Her tone carried that girlish cheer unique to a sixteen-year-old, but her eyes were resolute.
She was, after all, still a young girl. To receive such personal approval from the greatest man in the city, it was an encouragement beyond words.
Though she didn’t believe in Li De as a god, she still held him in immense regard. He had lifted her and her sister out of despair and given them a new life.
And with Nilo’s constant influence, Li De’s place in her heart had risen steadily, second only to her sister.
As someone well-versed in religious Orders, Niko fully understood the meaning of being a Holy Priest.
