I Became The Academy Necromancer -
Chapter 381: Side Story - Norseweden
“You have to go to Norseweden at least once, anyway.”
Erica, who came to visit, said she understood, but her expression couldn’t hide her disappointment.
To go to Norseweden, I had to move the convenience store door connected to Erica’s room to Norseweden.
In other words, Erica wouldn’t be able to visit me for a while.
“You have to go. You need to see your family and also visit Illuania and Sevia.”
The way she kept explaining the reasons seemed like she was convincing herself rather than explaining it to me, which made it a bit cute.
When she was acting as a professor, she was cold enough to make the students fear her, but here, was it okay for her to be this cute?
As I quietly hugged her, Erica naturally accepted it as well. We had reached a point where such casual skinship was no problem.
“Don’t worry too much. I’ll be back in a few days.”
I wouldn’t be gone for long.It was also because no one should see Findenai’s face there.
“Isn’t it okay to just take a carriage?”
Erica suggested using magic to travel by carriage.
I was going to explain that going to Norseweden from here was difficult because it involved crossing borders.
“No!”
[No!]
Findenai and the Dark Spiritualist, who had been watching us uncomfortably from behind, immediately responded as if having a seizure.
“This bastard got into the habit of doing it in a carriage!”
[There are mountains on the way to Norseweden! Then… Heeeek!]
The two people who had experienced having sex in the carriage while returning home yesterday would probably hesitate to ride in a carriage for a while.
Pinch.
Erica pinched my side while holding me, glaring at me as if demanding an explanation for what I had done.
Seeing her pressing her chin to my chest, her jealousy only looked cute.
Have I been blinded by love?
When I reflected on every action the women did in our house and the carriage, I always ended up doing what they wanted because my heart softened.
In this case, seeing Erica jealous made me want to give her whatever she wanted.
Peck.
Maybe that was why I suddenly kissed her, making Erica stare at me in surprise with wide eyes.
She probably didn’t expect me to act like this, and I didn’t expect myself to change this way, either.
“Don’t be too cute.”
Erica’s cheeks flushed brightly when I whispered as I patted her head.
“D-Don’t change the subject.”
“Is it okay for a candidate for the archmage to be this cute?”
“Ugh…”
“You would be in trouble if the students saw you like this.”
“Tch.”
It might have sounded like flattery, but Erica, already feeling better, placed her hand around my waist and gently pressed her cheek to my chest.
We shared warmth as if trying to hear each other’s heartbeat, but the women behind us immediately chimed in with their comments.
“This bastard is a fucking player.”
[Why have you never said that to me, even though you’ve done everything with me?!]
As Findenai and Dark Spiritualist pouted together, Erica closed her eyes and replied.
“Excuse me, can you two go somewhere else? We’re having a good moment here.”
“Bullshit. He’s probably trying to plant his seeds in your baby room. That’s why he’s doing this. He did the same to me yesterday.”
[That’s right! He did the same to me!]
When the two of them get together, their talent for creating an over-the-top atmosphere explodes.
Seeing this, Erica and I decided that we shouldn’t stay like this and separated.
“It was the Dark Spiritualist who suggested doing it in the carriage.”
[Was it?]
Look at how shameless she was.
“It wasn’t me.”
Findenai confidently chimed in.
To be fair, Findenai had been somewhat forced into it.
“Sigh, this conversation is going in a weird direction.”
In the end, Erica stepped in to sort things out. Since everyone already knew that we did something sexual, her jealousy earlier was probably her own way of expressing herself.
“Anyway, you’re going to Norseweden, right? You actually had to move the door sooner or later since I’m leaving the academy.”
“Oh, is it already vacation?”
“Yeah. I barely managed to stop Aria and Eleanor from coming here.”
Once this semester ended, Erica would head to the capital, Graypond, to take the royal exam to become an archmage.
I knew there were a few other candidates, so she would have to compete with them.
“You’ll do great.”
At my words, Erica gave a bright smile.
“Honestly, I hope I don’t make it.”
“Huh?”
“That way, I can be unemployed and stay with you longer.”
Well.
“That doesn’t sound bad at all.”
For a moment, our eyes met.
Then, suddenly embarrassed, Erica quickly turned toward the general store door.
“Anyway, if you want to meet me, you’ll have to come to Graypond. I won’t be able to move around for a while, so you’ll have to come.”
“That’s not a problem.”
I could just go alone and leave Findenai and the Dark Spiritualist behind.
“Yeah, I’ll also bring Eleanor and Aria with me. It’ll be a hassle if they insist on following you.”
“Yeah, I’ll leave that to you.”
It would be nice to spend time with Eleanor and Aria separately, but for now, it seemed best to head to Norseweden first.
If those two tag along, I probably wouldn’t be able to spend my time properly in Norseweden.
“See you later, then.”
Just as Erica opened the door—
“Brotheerrrr! I’ll be waiting in Graypond!”
“If you don’t come, I’m going to bully Darius!”
Aria and Eleanor’s voices rang inside the door, but Erica pushed it shut behind her as she stepped through.
[That felt like a storm passing through, even if just for a moment.]
“Yeah.”
I was a little overwhelmed, but at least my conversation with Erica was—
Clunk.
“Oh, right.”
Erica peeked her head back through the door. It seemed she had forgotten something.
“When you come to Graypond, check in on Owen. He’s going through a lot of trials to become the second Soul Whisperer.”
“Owen…”
“Yeah. The position of Soul Whisperer carries a lot of weight now. The previous one caused way too much trouble.”
Erica grinned playfully, and I gave her an awkward smile in return.
“He’s currently being evaluated to become a Soul Whisperer, so it’d be nice if you could give him some advice or at least some encouragement.”
“Alright, I’ll do that.”
“By the way, I’m one of the examiners too.”
“Wait, aren’t you the only one talking way too much, Professor?!”
“Brother! I’m also Owen’s examiner!”
Aria and Eleanor’s voices leaked out from behind the door again, but Erica, deciding the conversation was over, simply shut the door.
She really was a strong-willed woman.
Handling those two wouldn’t be easy.
[Everything’s done now.]
That was when Stella walked in from outside.
She had finished tending to the vegetable garden and the animals one last time before our departure to Norseweden.
I briefly wondered if someone should take care of them while we were away, but since we could always return through the general shop’s door, we decided to leave them as they were.
We only needed to drop by to feed and check on them anyway.
“So, are we ready to leave?”
[Yes! Let’s go already!]
Stella immediately came over and linked her arm with mine. Last night, since the others had run off after the sex in the carriage, I ended up sleeping with Stella.
Maybe that was why her face looked fresh and glowing—she seemed to be in a great mood.
I had sent Deia to Norseweden ahead of time. She scouted out a location for us to set up a new door and was probably waiting for us with Darius.
Clunk.
A familiar sight greeted us as I opened the door and stepped inside.
“So, it’s my room.”
Well, technically, it was Deus Verdi’s room, but it wasn’t strange to call it mine now.
Deus Verdi was supposed to be dead, but the room was spotless, as if ready to be used at any moment.
It was completely dust-free and even felt warm inside, proving that the mansion’s servants had diligently cleaned it.
[Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve been here.]
Even the Dark Spiritualist seemed nostalgic, wandering past me as she took in the room.
“Hah, in the end, we ended up back here.”
Findenai followed the Dark Spiritualist behind, grumbling about how sick she was of this place, but her lips were curved into a slight smile.
Now that I noticed, I wondered why she was wearing a maid outfit. Maybe she had dressed up since we were heading to Norseweden.
Sensing movement, the door opened, and Deia stepped inside.
“Oh, you’re early.”
Instead of her usual at-home clothes, she looked slightly more dressed up—it suited her.
She had even left behind her usual magic gun for today.
“Let’s go. Darius is waiting.”
“Alright.”
The others were about to follow, but Deia held out her hand to stop them.
“The rest of you wait here. This is a family matter.”
[We’re family, too, though?]
[We’re his wives.]
“Pffft, true.”
I instinctively turned my head away the moment I heard the Dark Spiritualist, Stella, and then Findenai chime in one after another.
Hearing all three of them say it so directly made me realize, once again, what a crazy situation I was in.
“Stop being annoying and just wait here. Or do you all want to go back?”
[Oh? This sounds familiar.]
[A lot of wives complain about their sisters-in-law stressing them out. I’ve counseled so many of them.]
[Ohhh?]
[In these cases, the husband has to step up and do his part properly…]
The Dark Spiritualist and Stella started whispering among themselves, while Findenai had already sprawled onto my bed with her eyes closed.
“Let’s go.”
Deciding that things were settled, Deia led me outside.
“Don’t be nervous.”
“Huh?”
The sudden remark caught me off guard. Why would I be nervous about meeting Darius?
Without dwelling on it, we headed straight to Darius’ office.
Everything was happening so fast—there was no time to indulge in nostalgia, even though it had been a while.
“Ahem!”
As we entered Darius’ office, he was seated in his chair, staring at me with an unusually serious expression.
I was about to greet him after so long, but—
“Alright, now give us your marriage blessing.”
Deia’s sudden statement made me instinctively turn to look at her.
