I Became The Academy Necromancer -
Chapter 368: Side Story - Two Little Devils
Whoosh.
“It’s delicious!”
It was Aria Rias who chewed her meat with delight. Her cheeks were full. Even Eleanor, eating beside her, smiled brightly.
“It’s really good!”
I was relieved that it suited even the princess’ picky taste. I assumed she’d be more selective since she grew up eating only the finest foods.
“Brother, you can just give her anything. Last time, she ate some weird street food that looked like dog food and said it was delicious.”
“Hey! That was a masterpiece by a true artisan! What do you know?!”
Well, that made sense. I couldn’t recall a time Eleanor had ever complained about food.
“Thanks for inviting me.”
Ignoring Eleanor’s grumbling as if it were second nature, Aria subtly moved closer to me.Her bright, childlike smile was endearing.
“Sorry for calling you so late.”
It had taken some time to put out the fire and clean up the area, which delayed me from summoning them.
I had originally planned to invite Professor Fel and Deia as well, but Fel had been too busy with the recent academic conference, and Deia had declined, citing a matchmaking meeting scheduled for today.
She’s probably back by now.
Since it was already late, her meeting should have ended long ago. I considered going to call her to visit again.
Clatter.
The door inside the house opened, and out came Deia.
“Ugh, damn it.”
She looked striking in an elegant dress, but her expression was full of irritation.
[Oh, Deia’s here too?]
Stella, who had taken control back from Velica, greeted her warmly. Deia, however, scowled.
“Is there any beer? I won’t be able to survive today if I don’t drink.”
[Findenai drank most of it, but there’s a little left.]
With that, Stella immediately handed Deia a bottle of beer. She popped the cap off and chugged it down.
She drank with a kind of reckless abandon.
“Whoa.”
“I want to try it too.”
The younger ones, Aria and Eleanor, were intrigued. Since they had never tasted beer, seeing someone drink like that piqued their curiosity.
That was how it usually was when you were young.
Watching adults drink beer and exclaim how refreshing it was sometimes made it seem like some kind of magical elixir.
“Damn it. Why do I have to go to these matchmaking meetings? Why do I have to cater to those pathetic bastards?”
Deia made a motion as if she wanted to throw her beer bottle. Judging by her frustration, she must have met someone particularly awful today.
“I heard you were invited to some banquet. Was it that bad?”
A slightly tipsy Erica, her face flushed, carefully asked. Deia let out a dry chuckle and nodded.
“It wasn’t just bad. It was ridiculous. It was a banquet, sure, but it turned out to be a masquerade ball.”
[Oh! That sounds fun!]
The Dark Spiritualist, hands full of skewered meat, joined the conversation while munching. Excited to eat meat again, she had devoured more than anyone else.
“Fun? Do you think that sounds fun? People were wearing masks, rubbing up against complete strangers, kissing, and—some even went all the way in the corners. Those crazy bastards.”
“…”
In short, it was just an orgy.
It wasn’t hard to guess what they intended to do by taking Deia there.
“Hah, the moment I saw that, I just slapped them and walked out. The fact that I didn’t pull my gun right away proves that I’ve grown more mature.”
I wasn’t sure if that was something to be proud of, but since she held back and didn’t make it a bigger issue, it was commendable in a way.
“Ugh, will there be any decent guy out there who would take me?”
Deia glanced at me as she spoke, then raised her voice again.
“Huh? Will there be any decent guy out there who would claim this beauty of the North?”
“…”
Deia stomped over and grabbed me by the collar when I remained silent and pretended not to hear.
Then, pulling me sharply towards her, she asked in an annoyed tone.
“Why don’t you answer me, huh?”
“…Just go and eat a lot of meat.”
“Hey, I said, answer me.”
“The kids are watching.”
Aria and Eleanor watched Deia in admiration, letting out excited “Ooooh” sounds. Even Erica pouted slightly, puffing out one cheek while glaring at me.
“Ha, coward.”
Deia grumbled and walked straight to Stella, who was grilling the meat. She handed her the burnt pieces with a smile as if thanking her for coming just to eat.
Stella seemed wary about Deia, but Aria and Eleanor, on the other hand, gave Deia a thumbs-up.
“She’s seriously amazing.”
“Can I call you ‘big sis’?”
They were whispering among themselves, clearly amused. Meanwhile, the Dark Spiritualist, who had stuffed both cheeks full of meat, waddled over to them.
She ate more than Fluffy IV but was even more useless. Maybe now she should be ranked lower than Fluffy IV without issue.
[You two don’t mind?]
At the Dark Spiritualist’s question, the two girls tilted their heads, looking at her.
Their expressions were as if to say, “What’s the problem?” making the Dark Spiritualist hesitate, wondering if she was mistaken.
[Uh, no, I mean… aren’t you both interested in him?]
“We are.”
“Why are you asking something so obvious?”
Now, my students were openly confessing without any shame. Somehow, all the embarrassment and pressure were being pushed onto me, making me awkwardly clear my throat and look away.
The two girls smirked, entertained by my reaction, but the Dark Spiritualist added another question.
[But you don’t seem to care much. Don’t you feel jealous or anything? Look at Stella—she’s literally giving her raw meat now.]
The Dark Spiritualist pointed at Stella and Deia with a skewer in hand, and Deia growled as if right on cue.
“How am I supposed to eat this?!”
[It should be fine, right? Just chew it thoroughly and digest it.]
“Wow, so this is how you will act when someone touches your man?”
[…]
I never expected to see Stella and Deia bickering like this.
Now that she had formed a mental body to be visible to anyone, these kinds of things were happening.
[See that? This is the process every woman who loves that man has to go through. Honestly, screw you, Kim Shinwoo.]
“Why are you adding your personal grudge at the end?”
Sorry, but I heard everything.
[Sorry, my true feelings slippedoutscrewyou.]
“…”
Talking to her just felt like my loss, so I turned away. Behind me, I heard the bright voices of the two girls.
“We’re still 18.”
“We are just waiting until we’re 20.”
“…?!”
As I turned my body back to look at the two, they both made a V-sign and smiled brightly.
“See you after graduation, honey.”
“Wow, honey? That title is making my heart flutter. C-Can I call you something like ‘my lord’ instead?”
A sharp headache suddenly hit me. Did becoming a mental body come with migraines, too? I wasn’t sure, but I let out a long, heavy sigh.
“Aria, Eleanor.”
The two turned to look at me simultaneously.
With a serious yet firm tone, I made a declaration.
“I don’t see you two in that way.”
“…”
“You were my students, so I can’t see you that way. After graduation, you’ll meet many people, and you’ll find the right match for yoursel…”
“I already told my brother.”
Eleanor raised her hand and casually interrupted me, and with quite a weighty statement…
“I told him that after graduation, I’m marrying Big Brother Shinwoo. He was happy, saying Big Brother Shinwoo would become his brother-in-law.”
“Sigh, Orpheus…”
Just hearing the name of the king, who had no hesitation in using royal decrees when it came to his sister, made my shoulders feel heavier.
“If you don’t like it, then whatever. But who knows what kind of situation we’ll be in by then?”
Eleanor declared with a bright smile, and Aria immediately chimed in.
“If you reject me, I’ll just become the princess’ sword and live according to her orders! If the princess tells me to wipe out the Norseweden or the Bright Household, boom boom, it’s done!”
“…Are you threatening me?”
Dumbfounded, I asked, and both Aria and Eleanor giggled mischievously.
“No! No! Not at all!”
“We’re just saying you should think carefully before making a decision.”
“Huff…”
I wanted to say something, but there was nothing I could say. I had no authority to stop them since I had already stepped down from my position.
Of course, I knew they weren’t being entirely serious.
However, their words showed just how determined they were.
Seeing my troubled expression, Aria and Eleanor immediately clung to my sides and locked their arms with mine.
“Come on, Brother. Honestly, there’s no big difference between having four and five, right?”
“That’s right. I don’t ask for much.”
“You’re my students.”
I tried raising the tattered shield, which was my argument, but the two only grinned slyly.
“That’s right. We are students… for now.”
“It’ll be easier to accept us, your former students, rather than accepting younger sister, right?”
At their words, I instinctively glanced at Deia. She was chugging beer while scarfing down burnt meat.
“We, the academy, everyone fully supports Big Brother Shinwoo getting together with his younger sister, Deia.”
“You need to cross that line first. That way, accepting us will be much easier.”
The cunning whispers of the two little devils entangled me in a rather dazzling snare.
“Huff…”
Sorry, but I’d killed at least half a dozen Demon Lords with my own hands.
“Both of you, go home.”
And so, I promptly kicked the two little devils out of my house.
