I Became The Academy Necromancer -
Chapter 365: Side Story - Peace
“Mmm.”
I unintentionally let out a sound while tasting the meal Stella had prepared.
I hadn’t used an artificial body for that long, but the joy of tasting food again after so much time was greater than I had imagined.
Even though it was just a piece of toasted bread, the savory and moist texture lingered on my tongue, signaling the start of a wonderful day.
[It’s delicious! So delicious!]
Beside me, the Dark Spiritualist was munching on bread just like me.
During the process of turning me into a mental body last night, she had also formed a mental body, so we were now sharing a meal together.
This must have been a joyous occasion for someone like the Dark Spiritualist, who hadn’t eaten in nearly two years.
Watching her devour the food like a madwoman made her seem childlike, which was amusing, but…
“The bread crumbs…”When I casually pointed it out, the Dark Spiritualist finally noticed the pile of bread crumbs on her chest.
[…]
She quietly got up and headed toward the sink. Her silence suggested she was quite embarrassed.
Despite spilling so many crumbs, not a single one had fallen on the table, which made me realize how impressive the size of her chest truly was.
Is that why her childish side hasn’t changed?
Even if she spilled something while eating, her chest caught it all?
I should be careful, too.
Lately, I had felt like I had changed a bit, and strange thoughts I would never have had before occasionally crept in.
Feeling embarrassed for no reason, I went back to enjoying the meal.
[It’s just bread, fried eggs, and jam, but sitting together like this makes it feel like a lavish meal.]
Sitting across from the Dark Spiritualist, Stella smiled brightly and took a bite of her strawberry-jam-covered bread.
She wasn’t wrong.
While what you eat was important, the quality of a meal also depended on who you shared it with.
To my left sat a former Saintess.
To my right sat a self-proclaimed strongest Necromancer.
It wouldn’t be easy to find a more luxurious dining table than this, but…
[Huh? Isn’t that just something religious fanatics say when they don’t have enough food? Like, ‘Even if we only have one boiled potato, we’re grateful because God is with us.’]
The conversation wasn’t exactly luxurious.
[Logically say, why would God even bother being there when you’re just eating a potato? It’s not like They’re going to steal it.]
The Dark Spiritualist seemed proud of herself for being able to refute Stella’s words. However…
[It’s a matter of mindset, senior.]
Stella smiled as she replied.
[And if you really think about it, I’m also a god, and I’m sitting at this table with you.]
The argument had shifted, but it was clear that both of them were enjoying the act of eating after so long.
“I won’t tell you to stop talking, but let’s not argue childishly.”
When I intervened to mediate, both of them immediately turned their gazes toward me.
[But it’s not wrong, right? The gods were all weirdos, to begin with.]
[…]
Unable to deny this point, Stella eventually got up from her seat.
[Would you like some coffee?]
After learning the truth that the gods weren’t omnipotent beings but merely entities following a scenario, even Stella couldn’t really argue against it.
“Please.”
[I want some, too! It’s been so long since I’ve had coffee!]
[…Senior, you should make it yourself.]
[Are you sulking?!]
Despite her words, Stella prepared three cups of coffee. Having finished her bread, the Dark Spiritualist was licking her lips while looking regretful.
[Since we’re in mental bodies now, we don’t have to worry about gaining weight, right?]
“Well, I guess so.”
[That’s a relief. When I was alive, I avoided overeating because I was afraid of gaining weight. I even avoided certain foods.]
“Really? You don’t look like it.”
I was skeptical because the Dark Spiritualist didn’t seem like someone who’d gain weight easily despite eating a lot.
Glancing at Stella’s back, the Dark Spiritualist leaned forward and whispered softly.
[Everything I ate went straight to my chest.]
“…”
[I had to control my meals because it would’ve been a problem if they got too big.]
“I… see.”
This was…
Now that we had become mental bodies and had grown as individuals, we could express and feel our emotions more honestly.
Perhaps that was why, I, who had been swept up by desire, found my gaze drifting toward the Dark Spiritualist’s chest.
Though covered by her black robe, its loose fabric still couldn’t hide the outline of her figure.
It was hard to believe I had been nestled between those breasts just yesterday.
[…Should I have eaten more?]
Noticing my gaze, the Dark Spiritualist teased, and I quickly looked away, replying.
“I like you just the way you are now.”
It was meant as an excuse, but…
[Hehe, hehehe!]
The Dark Spiritualist, clearly pleased, placed her hands on her cheeks and twisted her body coquettishly. Even as a mental body, the weight of her chest was noticeable.
[Here you go.]
Stella returned with the coffee. I noticed that while she and I had mugs, the Dark Spiritualist was given a small cup.
[Why do I get this?]
She grumbled, pointing out that there was more coffee and other cups available.
[Wouldn’t it all just go to your chest?]
Stella smiled as she replied.
It seemed she had overheard our conversation.
[…Thank you for the drink.]
Overwhelmed by Stella’s energy, the Dark Spiritualist sipped her coffee. It seemed she was in a good mood again, enjoying coffee after so long.
[We should start properly tending to the garden now, right?]
Sitting back down, Stella brought up the topic of the garden.
“Right. Now that we can eat, we should get serious about it.”
I had brought books on farming and crops but hadn’t read them because I had wondered whether it was really necessary to go through the trouble of reading books and growing crops I couldn’t even eat anyway.
[Yay! Does that mean I can eat my little bobble-booble?!]
I wouldn’t stop her from naming the cherry tomatoes, but the idea of her devouring them without any hesitation after naming them…
[She’s indeed a necromancer.]
“Only someone who doesn’t see humans as humans could say something like that.”
Stella and I nodded in unison, muttering. I wouldn’t be surprised if, one day, she also consumed Fluffy IV, which we raised in the yard.
[Senior, by the way, have you hugged Fluffy IV yet? Now that we’re in mental bodies, you should hug her.]
[Oh, right!]
Stella mentioned Fluffy IV as if reading my mind. Upon hearing that, the Dark Spiritualist jumped up and headed outside.
Watching her act so innocently, wanting to play with Fluffy IV, she seemed childlike again.
Rustle.
Before I knew it, Stella had pulled up a chair and sat down beside me.
She sometimes showed this sly side of hers.
She leaned cautiously against my shoulder, and the aroma of the coffee in front of us created a subtle, cozy atmosphere.
[This is nice.]
“Yeah, it is.”
Feeling each other’s warmth after a hearty meal, the morning cup of coffee served as a reminder that true peace had finally come to us after many hardships.
“We should go down to the village and buy some meat. Let’s celebrate with a barbecue in the yard today.”
[Wow, that sounds great. Are we drinking alcohol, too? I want to try beer instead of wine this time.]
“Now you are no longer a Saintess, huh?”
[I’m a goddess now. I’ll do as I please.]
Her smile as she rubbed her cheek against my shoulder was so cute it made my heart pound.
[I want to feel what it’s like to get drunk.Hehe, what should I do? I’m already looking forward to tonight.]
“Yeah, me too.”
It would take some time to go to Iceburn Village, but now that we had Hannibal, the donkey, it wouldn’t be a problem.
We could just go for a little trip to get some fresh air.
This peace was something to savor.
[How was yesterday?]
However, a sudden threat slipped into the conversation.
Leaning on me, Stella’s expression still held a smile, but she didn’t meet my eyes.
My back tingled as if needles were pricking me.
Her arm, now folded, tightened around mine, and I could feel the pressure.
[Did you enjoy it?]
“Y-yeah. I did.”
I couldn’t lie. Right now, Findenai and Erica were still lying in the bedroom, saying they wanted to sleep a little longer.
So, I couldn’t deny the time I spent with them.
By the way, Erica had said she couldn’t teach today because she was feeling aches all over her body and asked me to let Professor Fel know.
[I seeee.]
Her voice made me feel like she was grabbing me by the scruff of my neck. Stella subtly pulled my hand, which was folded in hers, and placed it between her legs.
When I turned my head sharply, she whispered into my ear, her breath mixing with her words.
[I am ready.]
“…!”
[Make this pure Saintess… yours.]
Yeah, once the dam of desire cracked, it was easier to collapse completely the next time.
Just a few words were enough to make me want to lay Stella on the table and take her right then and there, but…
“If you provoke him wrongly, you’ll be dead.”
Before I knew it, Findenai, standing behind us, yawned loudly and interrupted our conversation.
[Huh?!]
Startled, Stella quickly pushed my hand away and lowered her head.
Her face turned bright red as if she felt embarrassed that someone other than me had seen her like this.
But compared to this situation, her shame was nothing.
“Findenai…”
Findenai, who had walked out completely naked, looked at me with sleepy eyes.
“Got any food? I want to eat something and go back to sleep.”
[Y-yes! I’ll get you some milk and the leftover bread. Share it with Erica.]
“Yawn.”
Stella hurriedly got up and busied herself preparing the food.
Meanwhile, Findenai casually sat on my lap.
“Ah, I’m so sleepy. Aren’t you tired?”
“Put some clothes on first.”
My words seemed to amuse her as Findenai let out a soft chuckle.
“I’m going back to sleep anyway. Why? Are you embarrassed? You’ve already seen everything yesterday. Why are you acting like a kid now?”
“…”
“Yaaawn. Whatever. You said we’re having a barbecue tonight, right? Bring something tasty. I’m going back to sleep.”
“Sigh, fine, but put some clothes on…”
“Ah, seriously.”
Findenai suddenly turned around and faced me, glaring at me with an irritated expression.
“I said I’m tired. You went at it so hard yesterday that I need to sleep again rig…”
As she spoke, her gaze slowly drifted downward.
I anticipated her reaction and subtly turned my head to the side.
“I’m going to… ugh, sleep, so…”
Findenai, who had been glancing between me and my lower half, suddenly jumped up in shock.
“You’re hard as a rock, you fucking beast! Are you insane?! What’s wrong with you?!”
“No, all men are like that. That’s why I told you to put some clothes on.”
“Are you using some kind of recovery magic or something?!”
I swear I did not use any such magic.
“Go, don’t mess around and get in trouble.”
When I gestured, Findenai’s face turned bright red. She grabbed the basket of bread Stella had prepared, using it to cover her chest while her other hand shielded her lower half.
“You’re not in a mental body; you’re in a lustful body. What’s wrong with you? You should’ve been worn out after going at it like that yesterday. Even a stone wears down when you grind it, but yours just won’t shrink, huh?”
“…You’re pushing it.”
I pretended to stand up to threaten her.
“Hieek?!”
Findenai jumped up and immediately ran into the room.
“He’s going to attack me again! That crazy lust mage is coming to pound me again! He’s a merciless bastard who took two virgins in one day yesterday!”
Thud.
[…]
“…”
As Stella and I stared blankly at the door, Findenai slammed shut and sighed…
[Waaaaah! I accidentally stepped on Fluffy IV’s poop! It stiiiiinks!]
A child came in crying from outside.
“So much for peace…”
It didn’t seem like it was going to be a good day.
