Chapter 89: Chapter 89 Unnecessary visit

Who is it again? Alina blinked, hearing the knock echo again.

Is it Principal? she wondered, glancing at the time. If yes... why would he come now?

She took a breath, smoothing her skirt. "Come in," she called out.

The door creaked open slowly, and to her surprise — it wasn’t Dante, nor any other teacher.

It was Capi.

He stood in the doorway with his usual round cheeks slightly flushed and a patch of dried mud on his jaw like he’d tripped in the garden again. The plant on his head wobbled cheerfully.

"Miss Alina!" he grinned wide, his hands behind his back. "Can I come in?"

Alina smiled gently. "Of course, sweetheart. Come in."

He stepped in, eyes lighting up as he glanced around the room. "Hehehe Hi... juniors!" he whispered proudly, puffing up his chest like a tiny general. "Sir Gabriel said that’s what you call younger students. So I’m your senior!"

A few of the Class D babies blinked at him in confusion.

Alina chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "And what brings you here, Senior Capi?"

He suddenly turned shy, pulling out his little hand. "You dropped your hairpin back there... I found it near the rose bush."

Alina’s eyes widened slightly as she took the tiny silver pin from his palm. "Oh— thank you, sweetheart. You noticed?"

He nodded proudly. "Teacher should look pretty always!"

Alina giggled, tucking the pin back into her hair. "You’re too sweet."

Capi turned to go but waved once more, that plant on his head swaying as if it were waving too. "Okay! I’m going back to my class! Bye, Miss Alina!"

"Bye, dear," Alina said, waving as he stepped out.

But the moment the door clicked shut... something in the classroom changed..

The air went strangely quiet.

Alina didn’t notice it right away. She was still smiling to herself.

But...

Luna’s small body was stiff in her chair. Her brows were drawn together, her eyes narrowed into angry slits as she glared at the door Capi had just exited from. Her nose twitched twice..hard .

If I were in wolf form, she thought darkly, I would’ve tackled that leafy boy to the ground.

Drake blinked twice, his amber eyes looking up from his dragon doodle. Teacher laughed... with him?

Vlad Jr. frowned, adjusting his tie a bit tighter than usual. "Unnecessary visit," he muttered under his breath, lips pressed thin.

Kelpie peeked over the top of his notebook with a quiet sadness. She smiled at him like she smiled at me one day ago...

Rocky rested his chin on the table, gently squishing his cheek. How do people talk to her so easily...

Sable blinked slowly, staring at Alina’s soft expression. His hand rested near his Book... but he didn’t touch it.

Lucian’s pen hovered mid-word. He didn’t speak. But he slowly pursed his lips — a quiet disapproval only he understood.

And Felix?

He laid his head flat on his desk, covering half his face with his arms.

Alina turned around, ready to resume the lesson but paused.

"Why is everyone so quiet?" she asked softly, tilting her head.

No one answered.

They just stared at her.

Alina heart was feeling full after seeing Gabriel’s students having so much fun planting together. And after Capi’s visit, the idea had only grown stronger in her heart.

"How about a planting activity, little ones?" Alina asked gently, her eyes sweeping over their curious faces. "The other class planted flowers this morning, and it looked like so much fun. If you’re interested, I can set up a special one just for us. We could plant tiny flower pots or even baby herbs and watch them grow together!"

She smiled brightly and asked, "Raise your hand if you’re interested!"

She waited.

One second.

Two.

Three.

Her smile slowly dimmed.

Not a single hand was raised.

Drake was the first to speak — arms crossed, face serious. "Teacher... we don’t want to copy them."

Alina blinked. "Huh?"

"We want to do something different!" Drake added with a puffed-up chest, clearly speaking for the whole class.

Luna nodded sharply, arms still crossed. "Exactly."

Boo floated a little higher. "Yeah! We’re Class D! Not some ABC-other-class thingy!"

Kelpie peeked up, whispering, "We could do... something better..."

Lucian didn’t say anything, but he gave a single sharp nod, as if confirming a silent rebellion.

Alina stood there, stunned for a moment then her lips twitched into a soft, defeated laugh. "Oh... I see."

She placed the chalk down gently. "So... something different then?"

"Yes!" Drake said proudly, like he’d won a tiny battle.

Felix muttered from his desk, "We can paint a volcano or build a tower or something loud..."

Rocky whispered, "Or... or we could draw... monsters..."

Sable quietly looked up, tapping his pencil once, as if saying he was ready to follow whatever they chose.

Alina exhaled slowly and smiled, folding her arms as she looked around the room full of fiercely proud little faces.

Alright then, she thought.

Looks like her babies weren’t interested in flowers.

They wanted fireworks.

After their little mini-rebellion against planting, Alina chuckled softly to herself and resumed the class.

She finished the language lesson earlier than expected — the babies were quick today, their answers simple and neat, even the usually distracted ones had been unusually focused.

As she placed the chalk down, she turned toward them with a softer voice. The classroom felt quiet again, but in a thoughtful way.

"Alright, sweethearts," she said, resting her hands on her desk. "We still have a few minutes left before the next class."

She looked at their little faces, some scribbling in their notebooks, some just resting their cheeks on their hands.

"So I want to talk about something else. Something... important."

They looked up, curious.

Alina smiled gently, tucking her hair behind her ear. "If any of you... ever feel upset," she said slowly, "or confused, or if something is bothering you... it’s okay to talk about it. With me, or with your parents. You don’t have to keep it inside."

She glanced at Luna, who still hadn’t spoken much since Capi’s visit. At Felix, who was doodling slowly, his eyes half-lidded. At Rocky, who’d been quiet as usual.
