Chapter 77: Chapter 77 Words (2)

Drake, who was half-sprawled on his desk, squinted at him. "What’s... respon-shible?"

Lucian’s lips curved in the tiniest, polite smile like a tiny adult explaining to a child. "Responsible means... I help. I try to be good. I do what Teacher says."

Boo floated upside down dramatically. "Lucian is tiny old man!" he squeaked.

Lucian looked at him with that serious, patient stare only he could make. "I’m not old. I just listen," he said, correcting Boo like a miniature butler.

Alina’s heart melted at his calm, grown-up words. She leaned in a bit closer, brushing a small lock of hair away from his forehead. "Teacher thinks you’re very thoughtful too, Lucian. That’s a lovely describing word. Quiet, responsible, thoughtful."

Lucian gave a tiny nod, writing each word in his notebook with neat, tiny letters. His handwriting looked like it belonged in a grown-up’s diary. When he finished, he folded his hands again, posture perfect, as if he were waiting for the next lesson already.

Kelpie peeked over from his seat, voice like a whisper. "Lucian... is gentle too."

Lucian glanced at him, the faintest warmth in his eyes. He didn’t answer, but his shoulders relaxed the tiniest bit.

After Lucian finished, Alina clapped her hands once, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "Wonderful, Lucian. Now, let’s hear from the rest of you. Felix? Will you tell Teacher how you’d describe yourself?"

Felix sat up straight in his chair, nose in the air like a tiny fox king. He crossed his arms. "Clever," he said at once, flicking a dust off his sleeve. "Handsome."

Boo, floating by, giggled behind his tiny ghost hands. "And grumpy!"

Felix shot him a cold glare. "No. Not grumpy. Mysterious." He leaned forward, tapping his desk with one finger. "And Teacher — add mischievous. But in a good way."

Alina covered her giggle with her hand. "Alright, my clever, handsome, mysterious, mischievous boy," she said fondly. Felix puffed up like a smug little fox.

"Luna, sweetheart?" Alina turned to the girl who sat with her arms folded, trying to look bored. "How would you describe yourself?"

Luna huffed, her golden-brown eyes glinting. "Strong," she said firmly, tapping her pencil on the desk. "Brave." She paused, then crossed her arms tighter. "And... not cute."

Boo squeaked, "Very cute!"

Luna spun around and glared so fiercely that Boo hid behind Lucian. "Take that back."

Alina bit her lip to keep from laughing. "Alright, strong, brave, not cute," she repeated, scribbling it down. "Teacher understands." free we\bnove(l).com

Next was Kelpie, who peeked out from behind his notebook like a shy little fish. "Kelpie, love?" Alina asked softly. "How do you see yourself?"

Kelpie’s damp hair clung to his forehead as he fidgeted with his pencil. "Um... quiet..." he whispered. "Soft... and... wet."

"Wet?!" Drake barked out a laugh. "That’s not a word for you!"

Kelpie squeaked, hiding his pink face behind his notebook. "It is for me..."

Alina just nodded, her eyes warm. "Quiet, soft, wet — perfect, Kelpie. That’s what makes you my sweet little water baby."

When it was Sable’s turn, Alina turned to his corner and softened her smile even more. He sat curled up in his chair, tiny shoulders hunched like he was trying to become invisible. His little shadows wiggled nervously around his notebook, hiding the edges like shy pets.

"Sable, sweetheart," Alina said gently, crouching so she didn’t tower over him. "Would you like to tell Teacher some words that describe you?"

Sable’s wide, dark eyes peeked up at her through his fringe. His small hands squeezed his pencil so tightly his knuckles turned pink. He opened his mouth once but no words came out. His shadows twitched, wrapping around his wrist as if trying to comfort him.

Alina reached out, brushing his hair back so she could see his eyes. "It’s alright, sweetheart," she said softly. "No need to rush. You can whisper if you want. Teacher is listening."

Sable swallowed, his voice so small it was almost a squeak. "Um... quiet..." he breathed, the word almost lost in the soft rustle of his shadows.

"Good boy," Alina praised, her eyes warm. "What else, sweetheart?"

Sable’s gaze dropped to his lap. His shadows shifted, curling tighter. He hugged his pencil close to his chest. "Small..." he whispered, so shy it sounded like a secret. "And... s-scared..."

Boo, floating close by, leaned in and squeaked, "Not scary! Sable is tiny, Boo wants to protect!"

Sable flinched at Boo’s sudden voice, his shadows pulling up like a little blanket around his shoulders. Alina stroked the back of his tiny hand. "You don’t have to be scared here, my little shadow," she said gently. "Quiet, small, a little scared — that’s alright. Teacher thinks you’re gentle, too."

Sable peeked at her, his lips trembling at the edges. He pressed his pencil against his nose and nodded just once, like a shy kitten curling up. His shadows slowly unwrapped, brushing against Alina’s hand as if they trusted her too.

Then it was Vlad Jr.’s turn. He sat tall at his desk, straightening his tiny white tie. He cleared his throat like a tiny prince about to give a royal speech. "Elegant," he began, brushing imaginary dust off his sleeve. "Noble. Handsome."

Boo, still hiding behind Lucian, squeaked, "And sparkly lips!" freeNovelFire

Vlad Jr. gave him a regal side-eye. "Beauty must be maintained," he said in his serious, princely tone.

Alina laughed softly, patting his shoulder. "Elegant, noble, handsome, sparkly — perfect for my little vampire prince."

Finally, all eyes turned to Drake — who was half-falling off his chair already. He perked up, beaming. "Teacher! Me next! Me next!"

Alina giggled, nodding. "Alright, Drake. How do you describe yourself?"

Drake puffed out his chest, his amber eyes gleaming with mischief. "Handsome!" he shouted first.

Vlad Jr. gave him a scandalised look. "You just copied me!"

Drake ignored him. "And strong! And super-duper extra cool! And... and... the best dancer!"

Boo squeaked from behind Lucian, "And the loudest."

Luna smacked Drake’s arm lightly. "And the most annoying."

Drake just threw his head back and laughed. "Yaa! All true! Write it all, Teacher!"
