I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means
Chapter 1023 - 606: Undead Divine Status and Alien Black Dragon

Seeing the one-sided situation, Calvo broke out in cold sweat.

Damn, he's paralyzed...

Is this what a legend is?

Calvo looked at the teleportation scroll in his hand, now turned to ashes, and without any hesitation, immediately knelt before Lis, pleadingly saying:

"Sir, please forgive my offense."

"I am willing to tell you the secret hidden in the Treasure Pearl Sea, just hoping for your forgiveness."

Looking at Calvo, who decisively started to beg for mercy, Lis was indifferent.

Isn't this the expected thing?

The enemy not only doesn't surrender but even attempts to resist!

It needs the iron fist of justice!

Lis waved his hand, letting the giant skeleton warrior in front of him step aside.

Though to ordinary Gold-level professionals, this skeleton warrior would already be a quite troublesome opponent, to Lis it was nothing more than a toy.

After all, he mastered the [Undead] and [Death] transcendental domains, though not yet evolved into the Legendary Domain, yet far stronger than Calvo.

And in the domain of the undead, control over the undead can be seized by a higher being. This is why Lis could easily take control of the skeleton warrior from Calvo.

As for the space teleportation scroll Calvo wanted to use, even [Storm Fury] Andrew would be forcibly interfered by Lis if he tried to use space teleportation in front of him, let alone a magic scroll recording space teleportation.

Even if he could teleport out, Lis could forcibly alter Calvo's teleportation destination.

Though Calvo had quite a few trump cards and even showcased a giant "skeleton" transformation in front of Lis, his strength was not beyond Lis's expectations.

However, that black dragon did surprise Lis a bit, as two near-legendary-level Water Elemental Giants almost let this dragon escape.

Furthermore...

Lis glanced at the part of the black dragon controlled by the Water Element Giant, the otherwise flowing blue body now mixed with a corrosive-like black airflow.

In Lis's perception, this black airflow held a sense of destruction.

It's just that this black dragon's power is not enough, otherwise, it wouldn't be realistic for Lis to control it with just summoned elemental creatures.

This black dragon is indeed problematic!

Lis nodded in satisfaction, then controlled the Water Element to give the black dragon's head a harsh blow.

Duang~

In an instant, the black dragon rolled its eyes and fell unconscious, being swiftly taken toward the Floating City by the Water Element.

"Alright, what were you about to say?"

After dealing with that black dragon, Lis turned his focus back to Calvo.

"Sir, I came to the Treasure Pearl Sea in search of an ancient legacy."

Calvo didn't dare lift his head, speaking respectfully.

Though treasures are good, one must live to obtain them.

Being nearly out of life, Calvo naturally dared not hesitate.

"What legacy?"

Lis asked, somewhat intrigued.

Strictly speaking, the Floating City he obtained was also an ancient legacy, indeed located above the Treasure Pearl Sea.

Did Calvo find clues about the Floating City from elsewhere, coming to search, and after discovering it was controlled by Risa, vanished knowing there's no hope?

"It's a chapel that worships the [Death Lamenter] Ivan Water."

Calvo spoke honestly.

"[Death Lamenter]?"

Lis was a bit curious, as he had never heard of this title.

Still, it seems like it should be an entity related to the undead?

Lis looked at Calvo, indicating him to continue.

Seeing this, Calvo continued:

"[Death Lamenter] was a demigod-level Undead Mage, far along the path to divinity, with clues proving he had successfully condensed a divine status, yet failed at igniting the divine fire and ultimately fell."

"So, this demigod's legacy is in the Treasure Pearl Sea?"

Lis glanced at Calvo, nodding slightly.

This guy is indeed something!

Not even a Legendary being, yet so familiar with the path to divinity.

The forces behind him must be extraordinary!

And to even find information on a past fallen demigod, that doesn't seem like something a Golden Mage could accomplish.

Facing Lis's inquiry, Calvo straightforwardly admitted:

"Yes, it should be located on a small island chapel in the Treasure Pearl Sea, but my clues only go as far as that."

"For this reason, I came to the Treasure Pearl Sea to become a pirate, partly to find that island's undead chapel and partly to accumulate some wealth for future preparations."

Lis, hearing this, through Mind Magic could sense Calvo wasn't lying.

It seems he wanted to try breaking through to the Legendary level, thus taking the risk to find that demigod relic's undead chapel.

"What's in that undead chapel that made you willing to go to such lengths to find that demigod's relic?"

Though a bit reluctant, Calvo replied without hesitation:

"I researched extensively, and after [Death Lamenter's] failed ascension, there were no further records of them taking action."

"It suggests this demigod Undead Mage might have died after failing to ascend, so his legacy might be within that undead chapel."

"Besides the legacy of the demigod, most likely his divine status also remains in that chapel."

So, it's the divine status they're after!

Lis understood, looking at Calvo with a slightly different gaze.

Young man... you are indeed courageous!

A demigod-level Undead Mage's divine status, though not as powerful as a divine being's status, isn't something ordinary people can easily merge and control either.
