I Am Tired Of Being A Hero
Chapter 79: Surveillance

Chapter 79: Surveillance

"Captain! Captain!" There was a loud shout as strong wind due to a certain person’s ability blew up all the papers. Ravi did not need to do anything because...

"Draco!"

Draco froze, he was dressed in his uniform with black bags around his eyes and he clutched a laptop, he looked at Lisa and his eyes began to twitch.

Ravi focused on his work, he pitied the woman who was giving her report to Sarah, as for him, he did not know anything. He did not even know these people.

"Lisa. Must you shout like you are the reincarnated spirit of a banshee?"

Lisa choked and turned to Ravi, "Did you...Did you hear that..he called me a banshee."

If he and Draco had one side rivalry, what Draco and Lisa had was a landmine. It wasn’t always like that. Lisa had been the last to come to the station and Draco was very excited to welcome her and show her around.

When the sergeant had assigned Lisa as his partner, Draco had been upset and his jabs had increased.

Lisa had a habit of protecting the weak, it did not matter whether the weak was wrong, her heart always went out to the weaker party and she habitually stood up and out to fight for Ravi. Their constant battle made the situation what it was now.

"Yes...I"

"The next person that raises their voice would have 200 dollars deducted from their salary." Arlen’s stern voice sounded through the officer.

The two of them quietened down and Lisa sat back down. She leaned over his cubicle to whisper, "The Captain is scary when he is angry, right?"

Ravi looked over to where the Captain stood, next to Tom’s desk. His face was set in a straight line and the smile on his cheeks was nowhere to be seen.

Scary? No. He looked so good.

He hummed something that sounded like an agreement and a disagreement at the same time. Lisa seemed to be okay with it as she faced her work.

Ravi forced himself not to take another look at Arlene should have stopped frowning, he had never been angry for a long time.

If he asked him, both of them would be thrown into a mountain so dangerous that they needed to work together to survive and come out. He glanced at Lisa.

If the two of them annoy Arlen again. He might just do it, he would just look for a dangerous place here, maybe a small Nest, and throw them there.

"Everyone should come to the Meeting room. Officer Adams when you are done, come over as well."

Ravi did not know why he called it a Meeting room when it was just his office but he saved the report on the computer and stood up, heading to the office.

Everyone sat around as Draco connected the computer to the projector, "I collected the camera of some of the next-door neighbors to the Michael Grill and Bar. So, I woke up early...."

"Officer Brown!"

"See what I noticed. This was late February, February 26 to be exact." He clicked the computer to show an image. There were three teenagers standing to the side and watching the grill and bar. He clicked another image, this time it was one of the teenagers, a male, who seemed to be arguing with someone very familiar to Ravi, Mary Micheal.

"Here and This image was taken two days ago, the evening before the fire." It was a black car without any roof and the three teenagers. Two boys and a girl were in the car. With the way their hands were up, there was some music playing in the car.

"Officer West."

Was it him or was the way that Arlen called his name different? He looked around. Maybe it was just him.

"Okay. What do we think?"

Lisa looked at the image, "Once or twice might be a coincidence. But five times. Should we check whether they live in the area? Ravi, it is your specialty."

It was not really a specialty. In the orphanage, the government provided specialized classes once a month, and Ravi had attended the computer classes. He loved it. To be honest, if he had not died at eighteen and had saved enough money, he was planning to study Computer Systems Technology or Data Science, Cyber Security Analysis was not bad either.

Well, Lisa had discovered his little hobby of taking online computer courses and in an office without a cuber specialist, computer jobs were slowly assigned to him.

"His specialty. Yes, Sergeant Tom said that you are our resident cyber analyst." Arlen; ’s lips twitched at the sharp glare that he received from Ravi, "Don’t worry. Next week, a cyber analyst will come from Pala."

That was good news. Ravi thought as he gestured for Draco to hand over the laptop. First, he screenshot the facial images of the first person and ran them through the database of the Police Bureau.

"No criminal records." He said and Arlen nodded.

He bent over to see what Ravi was doing, "They look young. Maybe students. Could you check the High school and community college records?" As he spoke, his breath fanned Ravi’s ears causing the ear to turn red. Ravi swallowed, a shiver running through his body.

"Are you cold?"

"No." Please, please go away. Ravi had never wanted the night to come as fast as he did today. Once he scratched this itch in his body, he could, maybe, get along with Arlen as one did normally.

He focused back on the screen in front of him. He pulled up the public records of the Community College first, but in a minute the words-No match appeared on his screen.

He opened the records of Davenport High School and a few private high schools and in two minutes, a smile appeared on his face.

"Captain."

"You found them?"

"Yes. They are Seniors at Davenport High School. Marcus Reynolds, 17. Emily Parker 18. Jack Thompson 18. I can’t access their address."

"Try and trace their digital footprint."
