Some quick-thinking soldiers had distanced themselves from the area as soon as they sensed something was awry, narrowly avoiding the onslaught. However, some weren’t so lucky. Several attack helicopters were brought down by the assault of the flying moth zombies, causing the windows to shatter and eventually, with a single "snap", detached completely. The zombies flooded into the helicopters, releasing ghastly screams into the night sky.

About ten attack helicopters and gluttonous transport planes careened like falling meteors, exploding across Hua City. Parts flew erratically in all directions ablaze, creating a spectacle of extraordinary brilliance.

But what was clear was that zombies would still attack humans if they hadn’t been "specially" trained.

While the Peace Party’s soldiers have been brainwashed and fed the notion of the organization’s honor being paramount, the brainwashing didn’t mean diminishing their cognitive abilities. They could still distinguish reality; it’s just that they treated the Peace Party as their faith.

Chen Chaoyang walked into darkness while talking, not towards Qinshan Base, but deeper into Hua City!

"Get moving. The horde of zombies will soon attack the base. Both of you, tell the leader to be cautious of Li Songhua. He might strike in the next few days."

"Yes!"

Neither dared to say more. They saw the zombies ahead begin to clear a path for them. It seemed this stretch of their journey would be safe.

The scattered parts of the destroyed helicopters, still aflame, produced a faint light that illuminated the path ahead. It lit a path of light, the radiant moon and vibrant stars reflecting off the ruined city beneath them.

They proceeded unobstructed, their pace steady and moderate. However, when they left the area lit up by the burning helicopter parts, their faces started to look pale as anxiety filled their eyes. They felt as though they had stepped into the heart of the darkness. The light from the moon and the stars in the sky, far from providing any sense of security, instilled a shiver down their spines!

Once they moved away from the light, their figures were swallowed by the darkness and their footsteps grew increasingly frantic. From a calm pace to a quick step, to a jog, and then a sprint!

As the darkness engulfed them, they kept feeling that the darkness hid countless horrific monsters around them!

Only when they saw the anti-zombie wall of Qinshan Base did they breathe a sigh of relief.

"Whew... we finally made it!"

Little Wu panted lightly, looked at Dai Changhao, and felt a strange sensation growing within.

"Did you feel it too just now?"

After a while, Dai Changhao asked with a furrowed brow.

"Yes." Little Wu nodded.

Dai Changhao remained silent, his gaze fixed on the darkness ahead. Just then, Little Wu pulled out a high-beam flashlight and scurried up the remains of a nearby building, turning on the flashlight.

As the beam of light shone out into the darkness, both of their eyes immediately widened in shock.

"What..."

Where the light shone, there was a dense, uncountable number of zombies, each staring back at them with bloodthirsty eyes!

"Damn!"

Almost instantly, both of them turned and ran for their lives!

In the pitch-black darkness, the infinite zombies were bustling around, their rotten brains detached and waving, slowly moving towards Qinshan Base.

Looking over the entirety of Hua City, hordes of zombies stirred in the darkness. One could spot multiple high-level zombies, absurdly large, silently pushing through the crowds towards the brightly lit Qinshan Base. Looking further back amidst the zombie horde, Chen Chaoyang, clad in a black robe and an eerie mask, was flailing his arms around, his eyes flickering with madness.

"Hahaha, Qinshan Base, Li Songhua, prepare to join my loved ones in death. Humans! Your filth brought about my creation. I will exterminate all humans! Humans! You all shall die!"
