Chapter 715: Chapter 711: Exhaustion, the figure that appears in the blur_1

At this moment, the flesh at Ah Fu’s severed neck was crawling and sticking back together. A small head had emerged in the middle of the wound. He twisted this tiny head around to check his surroundings, his face instantly registering horror.

"It’s coming again!"

Ah Fu was extremely anxious. He had been too busy trying to escape and hadn’t thought through some things. His gigantic body, standing more than thirty meters tall, was certainly powerful, but it was also an obvious target. He could have shrunk to become a smaller target and easier to hide, but it hadn’t occurred to him.

It was only after his head had been chopped off that he remembered. But by then, Tang Ye’s Dragon Slayer sword had drained a third of his body’s energy. While a head wound wouldn’t kill a Silver-Armor Zombie, living without a head was impossible. Despite not being fatal, it required significant energy to regenerate a lost head. The brain, the most crucial organ for any creature, required a considerable amount of energy to recover, even for a Silver-Armor Zombie.

The blue beam had just decapitated him. Essentially, Ah Fu had been severely wounded. Although he looked fine as his body began to heal, his brain’s limitations and the difference in abilities from Tang Ye meant he couldn’t make himself smaller in such a short time.

Seconds later, a blue beam like a long rainbow burst from the muzzle of the Dragon Slayer. It rushed straight towards Ah Fu!

Ah Fu had never been more frantic. He was feeling an unprecedented sense of danger; he knew he couldn’t block the blue beam!

Facing this attack, Ah Fu was at a loss. Should he defend or turn and face it head-on?

He didn’t know. All he could do was run with all his might, and dodge the blue beam attack!

But as a strength-type zombie, how could he outrun a blue beam? It took less than a second for the beam to hit him. He roared, his ghastly breath filling the air, and his roar echoed up to the sky.

Crack!

The beam hit his neck. Ah Fu was lifted off his feet by the intense force and was sent flying hundreds of meters away. Multiple cracks appeared in the silver armor covering half his body, immediately followed by a massive explosion. Black blood exploded into a cloud that filled the sky.

"Is he dead now?"

Li Songhua asked hopefully. He had a clear view of Ah Fu’s horrific state, all his flesh had exploded from his shoulder line, turning into mush, and the bone spikes on his body had broken into numerous pieces. ’Horrific’ didn’t quite capture the extent of the damage. Even a zombie would have died two to three times over with injuries like that, let alone a zombie without a head.

Current Ah Fu had fallen and crushed several buildings. Thick black blood flowed from the part of his body that had exploded. The smell was so awful it filled the street.

"Let’s go check, he should be dead."

The carrier slowed down. The soldiers on it, gripping their guns tightly, had rapid heartbeats, afraid that Ah Fu would stand up again.

As they came closer, Li Songhua could see Ah Fu’s injuries were more severe than he had imagined, and he wasn’t moving at all. Relieved, Li Songhua let out a sigh.

"He must be dead, go and disembowel him. Find me the Evolution Crystal!" Li Songhua said, smiling triumphantly. However, before the soldiers could respond, the ground started to shake. They turned their heads to see Ah Fu stagger to his feet before he bolted away in a frenzy!

"Motherf***er!"

Another unexpected turn of events caused Li Songhua to curse. All the filthiest words he could think of had been said, but he still couldn’t vent his anger.

After cursing, Li Songhua was left standing numbly on the carrier’s top platform, at a loss for what to do next. The soldiers began to ask what their next move should be, but they closed their mouths again before speaking. It was not the right time to annoy Li Songhua.

Looking at the gigantic shadow of Ah Fu fleeing, the soldiers couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of amusement. They wondered if the creature was actually dead, or just pretending.

Li Songhua just stood there watching, his heart heavy. No one could comprehend his feelings. Three attempts! Two destroyed Ah Fu’s brain but had failed to kill him! It led him to suspect that Ah Fu was immortal.

Li Songhua didn’t know how much longer this could go on. He was running out of time. His face turned deathly pale. He raised his hand and let it drop, then raised it again and let it drop again. Finally, he hit the railings hard to vent his frustration.

"Let’s go... back."

Those three words were almost ground out between Li Songhua’s teeth. He had never heard of zombies surviving without a head, let alone knew how to deal with them. Unable to figure out Ah Fu’s abilities, he reluctantly had to give up.

Probably realizing that Li Songhua was in a terrible mood, none of the men on the carrier said a word. They quietly turned the carrier around and headed back.

What they couldn’t see was, Ah Fu faltering and stumbling as he ran. He knocked down several buildings as if he were drunk. He was on the verge of losing consciousness.

Ah Fu was currently in terrible shape. His body’s energy was already less than a layer deep and was constantly being consumed as his body tried to regenerate. It was about to be depleted completely. Without the life force of the living dead supporting him, his body began to falter, and he could faint or even die at any moment.

"Uh he he... I’m not gonna... make it."

Ah Fu, trembling, touched his newly formed small head with his hand. His low growl was noticeably weak.

Swaying all along the way, he crashed into numerous buildings, causing havoc and distress among countless zombies. Eventually, with a massive "rumble," the ground shook, and Ah Fu’s large body lay flat on the ground. His little eyes looking up into the sky. He could still feel his life force rapidly draining away, unsure of what would come once it was depleted.

For the first time, he felt fatigue. A feeling he had never experienced before. Even when he was at his hungriest point, back when he was strolling around in Lin City, he had barely any life force left, yet he had not felt tired. Maybe it was because he now had consciousness and had a clearer understanding of his condition.

With his ragged big hand clawing aimlessly at the ground, he occasionally picked up some bone and stuffed it into his mouth. Unfortunately, however, he wasn’t able to absorb even the slightest bit of energy. It seemed he was only able to find corpses... Struggling, he turned his head to see the zombies around him—fearful, keeping their distance, and hiding far away.

"Come here!"

Ah Fu roared, using his last ounce of strength. Then, everything he saw became blurry...

"Is this it?"

The somewhat blood-red world in Ah Fu’s vision darkened, as everything about to black out, he felt someone climb onto his shoulder. He barely managed to open his eyes. He couldn’t see clearly, but it seemed to be a woman.
