Chapter 636: Chapter 634 Assimilating Gong Xiao, Creating Yinxiang 2_1

Gong Xiao was as shy as a young maiden, her gaze bashfully skirting away when caught on her crush’s countenance.

Tang Ye chuckled, kicking her back nonchalantly as he asked with a suddenly frosty tone, "Well, what do you think of my plan?"

Tang Ye had expected Gong Xiao to agree promptly. After all, in Tang Ye’s view, Gong Xiao was like a keyboard warrior, unbeatable online, yet a pushover when confronted face to face. Plus, she was unnaturally conscious of her own survival. To his surprise, Gong Xiao emphatically shook her head twice, retorting, "No, you could have killed me, but instead, you’re asking me to follow you, to see you as my leader. What’s the use of me? I can’t even fight. Aside from controlling my kind, what other zombie can measure up to you when I’m dead?"

"My abilities can be replaced by yours, not to mention the Level 6 pet dragon at your side. What do you need me for? Surely, your intentions aren’t benevolent. You’ll likely sell me off within days, keeping me alive against my will."

Gong Xiao was smart; she understood the rules of this apocalyptic world all too well. If a strong entity keeps you alive, it indicates you still hold some utility. To spare you even without any benefit, that would be unusual.

"By the way you’re talking, you really do seem useless. To tell you the truth, my subordinates aren’t just zombie dragons. I have another equally imposing Level 6 goon, and another just like you, who also happens to be one of my underlings."

For some reason, Gong Xiao shivered as she listened to Tang Ye’s words, shaking her head once more.

"If you already have so many zombies like me under your command, why do you need me? You’d better kill me than make me do your foul bidding."

Tang Ye’s gaze hardened, though he didn’t seem too bothered. Zombies were just like that. Even intelligent zombies thought differently due to their different body structures.

As Gong Xiao stated, humans are greedy. If the person facing Tang Ye were human, they wouldn’t hesitate to agree upon hearing they wouldn’t be killed. After all, there’s an old saying: "Better to live a wretched life than to die a good death."

Many people don’t think about the future, always holding onto improbable hopes, believing that nothing bad will happen. This kind of thinking remains deeply ingrained in humans.

However, zombies are different. The unique thinking process of intelligent zombies prevents them from these base instincts, since they lack emotion and never act out of emotional impulses—a reality that Tang Ye well understood.

"Oh, is that so? Have you made your decision?"

Gong Xiao looked downwards as if observing something, then suddenly spoke, "I... can go with you. But isn’t there usually compensation for work? What can you give me in return? As long as what you offer is worthwhile, I’m willing to follow."

Tang Ye, bothered by her words, applied a bit more force through his foot, cracking the stone slab beneath him.

Gong Xiao jumped in fright, completely taken aback.

Seething, he growled, "You greedy wretch, even having the gall to negotiate when offered a chance at life? You may be shrewd, oh sorry, not you, the zombie, but whether you live or die makes no difference to me. Just go to hell!"

A black mist erupted from Tang Ye’s hands, a grim aura cascading upwards with murderous intent. Seeing Tang Ye’s intent to kill, Gong Xiao blankly exclaimed, "Wait, wait, wait! Don’t kill me! I’ll follow you!"

Perhaps she was too nervous. Seeing the black mist cloaking Tang Ye’s clenched fists, Gong Xiao fell on the ground, her hands raised in surrender, pleading for mercy.

Tang Ye, his murderous intent unabated, was ready to blow her head clean off with a single punch. But he halted mid-action, an idea flashing in his mind. He left his menacing fist lingering less than an inch away from Gong Xiao’s face, strands of her purplish hair fluttering around in the air currents created.

"You desire benefits, don’t you? I have something that you won’t be able to resist." Tang Ye relaxed his fists, speaking nonchalantly.

Gong Xiao was taken aback, completely clueless.

"What kind of benefit?" she inquired earnestly, anticipation reflected in her gaze.

Tang Ye merely replied with a smile. Just then, a face flashed through his mind — a face of exceptional beauty, unearthly and seemingly drawn from a painting. She was the most beautiful person Tang Ye had ever seen!

And thinking of her, this person, or rather, this being who was not even human, made him crave to see her reincarnated even if she was dead.

He was eager to witness how the world would react to such extraordinary beauty. She would undoubtedly create a stir in the survivors’ base.

Heh Heh~

Tang Ye suddenly broke into an eerie laugh, chilling Gong Xiao to the bone, stoking insecurity within her.

"Sir, what exactly is the benefit you speak of? Please...don’t scare me."

Tang Ye waved dismissively, commanding loudly, "None of you come in without my orders. Stay outside the factory. I’ve got business to take care of these few days. Anyone who dares to enter out of curiosity shall never leave."

His words weren’t meant for Gong Xiao but for the gang members outside the factory, who responded in chorus with a resounding "Yes!" after a few moments.

"Gong Xiao, if you follow me, I can give you unparalleled beauty — the most beautiful appearance you’ve ever seen, one that will never decay. However, once you possess her appearance, you can never change it. In other words, once you possess the appearance I give you, you will be her, and she will be you."

"Huh? The most beautiful appearance? Whose skin is it?" Gong Xiao asked puzzledly, but Tang Ye merely shook his head.

"The person is already dead."

"Of course, I know she’s dead."

"It’s not her skin, you will be her."

"Huh? Who’s this person? How beautiful was she?"

Tang Ye didn’t continue the conversation, instead grabbing Gong Xiao’s hair and yanking her hands away from her face. He clutched her face with his other hand, his nails morphing before effortlessly piercing her skin.

Tang Ye was remembering the face of Yinxiang, the woman he had crossed paths with in the forest grave. She was stunningly beautiful, captivating enough to make one forget at a glance, causing intoxication akin to drunkenness.

Her beauty was indescribable, as her features transcended the realm of reality, giving her the delicate ethereal beauty of an elf, mysterious and mesmerising.

Tang Ye remembered every detail of Yinxiang’s face clearly, and he was now set to recreate another Yinxiang!

Gripping her face, he lifted her up with an immense force from his arm, his sharp claws piercing into her flesh like syringes. Tang Ye drew on the dark energy within him, controlling it as it flowed continuously into Gong Xiao’s body.

He was manually assimilating Gong Xiao, attempting to turn her into a Silver Armored zombie. It was uncertain, however, if she would remain an intelligent zombie after the assimilation.
