Chapter 607: Chapter 604: Non-existent Energy Source_1

Tang Ye’s eyes glowed, appearing particularly eerie in his white irises.

He waved his hand, indicating that he didn’t care, and continued, "Let me ask you again, where did you see this 46th Division?"

The man thought for a moment before answering, "We encountered them on the Ludian Expressway, but exactly where, I couldn’t say."

Tang Ye nodded, and said, "You all can leave." Having said that, he was about to go with his undead dragon. Since he was sure of Qiongli and Nannan’s destination, he’d either find them or directly go to the Chenyang 169 Base along the Ludian Expressway to intercept them.

But after a short moment, Tang Ye remembered something, quickly turned back and asked, "Hold on, does anyone of you have a detailed map of Province G downloaded on their phone?"

Tang Ye had no idea where the Ludian Expressway was, he didn’t even know about the Yunchuan City.

In his life, he had only been to S Province and C Province. He had only seen the other provinces on a map of China and had never been to them.

Although Qiongli mentioned that their destination was Chenyang 169 Base, and that the base was in Yunchuan City, Province G, the problem was, Tang Ye didn’t know where in Province G it was!

He had a poor sense of direction. Without navigation, he could only determine the cardinal directions by looking at the sun in the morning and at dusk. Even though he could fly, he had no idea what Yunchuan City or Ludian Expressway looked like.

All the members of the Flying Bike Gang looked at each other in response to Tang Ye’s words. Who would bother downloading map on their phones? Besides, the post-apocalyptic internet was no longer available.

Strangely enough though, there was someone who had a map.

"I... I do."

"Hand it over."

Tang Ye looked toward the voice. A man of average build, wearing glasses, and looking rather honest was holding up an ancient, shattered Jinli branded phone, shouting towards him.

With a glance at his surroundings, the man hastened to approach Tang Ye under the encouragement of a big man standing beside him. He carefully handed the phone to Tang Ye, cautioning, "Sir, please be careful. This phone is very important to me."

Tang Ye nodded without uttering a word. He wasn’t sure if he’d really taken the young man’s words to heart.

"Explain."

"Uh-huh."

Tang Ye held out his hand and watched as the young man navigated the local map on his phone. The map had information only about two provinces, Province G and CL Province. All the highways, cities, and street names were clearly marked. However, it was not a satellite map, and he wouldn’t know where he was without viewing the names of the places.

Without the GPS, Tang Ye could only scroll to search for the Ludian Expressway which the Flying Bike Gang had mentioned. He found Yunchuan City along the highway soon enough, but the map was pre-apocalypse, and it didn’t mark where in Yunchuan City the Chenyang 169 Base was.

"What’s your name?" Tang Ye asked, tilting his head.

"My name is Xi Wengang..."

"Right... When did you download this map?"

"I can’t remember exactly, but probably three months after the apocalypse."

"That is to say, it was after the apocalypse, but I would think no one was downloading maps at that time."

Xi Wengang fell silent for a while, a touch of sadness in his eyes, and sighed, "Yes, no one downloaded the map, but what could we do during that time. Maybe my family is all dead by now, but I hope they aren’t. I want to go back home, but circumstances don’t allow. I was forced to..."

The half-year period following the beginning of the apocalypse was the darkest time for mankind. People were twisted, morals were lost, and Xi Wengang was just a recent graduate who was away from home, working. Prior to the apocalypse, he was eager to start a new year, have Lunar New Year’s Eve dinner with family, and share his work experiences.

But after the apocalypse, he had to hide in the staff dormitory for safety. He hid there for seven or eight months, surviving on cockroaches and rats. Despite barely surviving that darkest period of the post-apocalypse time, that kind of life was like self-imprisonment, desiring to go out yet filled with fear of the outside world, he had no choice but to stay.

The breakdown of the internet almost overwhelmed him. Fortunately, before that, Xi Wengang had downloaded the maps of two provinces. It did guide him and ensured his survival until now.

During the boring apocalypse life, he would repeatedly plan the route home on the map, imagining himself sitting in a car heading home and watching the scenery along the way...

Tang Ye turned off the device and handed it back to Xi Wengang. He felt he needed a satellite map more than this one. Labeling places, when he was unfamiliar with the surrounding buildings and terrain, was a blind search.

Stop the nonsense, it would be better to continue leading the Flying Bike Gang and let them show him the way.

"Go inside, there should be a food storage warehouse of the base, you have one hour, hurry up and get out."

"Yes!"

"Um... Sir? Where are we going next?"

A member of the Flying Bike Gang, eyes shining, watched him abruptly. Tang Ye looked up at the sky, his eyes deep and filled with determination, and murmured, "Next, we’re going to Yunchuan City!"

......

Boom! ... Boom! Boom!

Within a spacious basement, a group of people wearing New Moon logo uniforms roamed back and forth. On the north-facing wall of the basement, a large number of screens of various sizes hung. The incessant tapping of keyboards echoed around.

In the very center of the basement, a shocking sight awaited - a three-meter high fighting ring, complete with a sandbag hanging from it. The strange thing was that the sandbag seemed to be slightly twisting. Before the sandbag, a young girl in a nano-battle suit kept punching it.

The rhythm of each punch resonated with a specific beat when they landed on the sandbag. To the ear, it sounded like someone was playing the piano. As she swayed with every punch, she left entrancing traces that were utterly captivating.

"Mayor, as per your instructions, we’ve investigated the Qulong River in Province G and T Province. However, we didn’t locate the large mobile energy source you mentioned."

A man, carrying a report, approached the fighting ring and looked up at the young girl.

Upon hearing his report, the girl halted her movements, a look of confusion on her face.

"Nothing?"

"Yes, nothing. So far, the largest energy source we’ve detected is only Level 4."

"Impossible!"

Su Sigui frowned, and she had a vague guess in her heart. But if it turned out to be true, it would be troublesome!

"You go back first, keep looking, and make sure to locate the mobile energy source of Level 5 or higher!"

She waved him away. Initially, she wanted to continue practicing, but her train of thought was disrupted and she lost the motivation to carry on.

"Eh..."

With a sigh, Su Sigui unfastened the sandbag and poured out its content. It wasn’t sand though, but a bloodied, severely deformed body!
