I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 603 - 600: Tragic Scene_1
Chapter 603: Chapter 600: Tragic Scene_1
The towering zombie-defying walls were full of mottled colors, with blood on the wall tops coagulated into dark brown husks, slowly seeping down like water on a car window on a rainy night.
Countless bodies hung from the wall top, with numerous turrets standing miserably like warriors who refused to fall even in death.
In front of the high wall, the flattened buildings still showed their existence traces. The plains were full of zombie corpses, dirtied with dried up blood everywhere, infecting the land with their rotting flesh.
A glance showed nothing but scattered bodies, dismembered limbs, and strewn muscle tissues.
Squelch~
The members of the biker gang, armed with guns, cautiously headed towards the zombie-overrun Gaozheng Base. With every step, their feet would squash the rotten flesh on the ground, spewing dark blood a meter away, accompanied by an unsettling "squishing" sound.
"Damn it, this is too horrifying."
The overwhelming number of corpses on the ground made your blood run cold; the setting sun casting a grim hue onto the dense clouds, painting the sky a shade of blood-red, completely obstructing the view of the thick snowfall on the ground.
As they navigated through the blood-soaked mountain of corpses, the horrifying spectacle sent chilling waves even through the battle-hardened bikers.
Tang Ye was at the back, looking at everything around him indifferently. Maybe it was because of the zombies, but he didn’t feel an ounce of fear in this hellish scene.
"This place has been invaded by a zombie horde."
Half a moment later, Tang Ye spoke. The bodies on the ground had been dead for three or four days, and their sheer number must be over a hundred thousand. Although the horde had left, Tang Ye could still smell the stench of decay.
As they moved forward, the number of piled up bodies increased. Especially under the zombie-defying wall, it was exaggerated to the point it resembled a mountain of bodies stacked over ten meters high. Here and there, you could see a few living zombies, but they were all ordinary ones with their lower halves already blown to bits, unable to move.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Damn it, how do we get in if this big gate is locked?"
Several bikers slapped the wall of the Gaozheng Base’s zombie-defying gates, Tang Ye glanced over, raised his fist, and launched it towards the wall.
Boom!
With a loud explosion, the wall was riddled with cracks, and a piece of the wall fell to the ground with a crash.
"Let’s go in."
Tang Ye said. The bikers were all shocked by his display of strength. After cleaning up the accumulated zombie corpses under the wall, they were all soaked in the grime and blood.
The sight inside the Gaozheng Base was even more shocking. Just like outside, the streets inside the base were full of corpses - soldiers, zombies, survivors. All these bodies had their heads destroyed, and amongst them were mostly human organs and tissues, creating a grotesque and bloody scene.
"This is like a city slaughter."
"Zombie hordes are really terrifying."
Everyone exclaimed in horror, their eyes darting all over the place. When someone spotted the body of a soldier wearing a sophisticated armor, they ran over in excitement and stripped the armor off the dead body to wear it himself.
"Do I look cool?"
"Freakin’ awesome!"
"Goddamn, what are all these things? I’ve never seen any of these before."
"How advanced is Gaozheng Base’s technology?"
The bikers, much like country bumpkins at city gates, threw away their conventional weapons and started grabbing the guns off the soldiers. These things were laser weapons manufactured using anti-energy matter after the Apocalypse, just like the nanotech-designed armor they were wearing.
"Damn, guys, come look, a laser cannon!"
A biker climbed to a turret, pushed aside the half-body remains there, and started randomly pressing buttons with the cannon aiming upwards.
"Careful, don’t aim it at us."
"What’s wrong?"
The excitement was evident in the biker’s eyes as he fiddled with the joystick, adjusting the cannon’s aim, and tried pressing the buttons on the control panel.
"This is strange. How do I fire this thing?"
"He’s muddling through."
While the biker muttered to himself in confusion, the people below laughed mockingly, with a few of them being curious enough to climb up as well. They had never seen post-apocalyptic arms and weapons before, having only used conventional firearms from before the Apocalypse. Against these high-tech laser weapons, they couldn’t help but feel a strong desire.
Before they could climb a few steps up the stairs, the biker sitting on the turret let out a shriek. A blue light flashed from the cannon, followed by a violent recoil!
Squelch!
He spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, the cannon glinted with a flashing blue light, and subsequently, a beam of blue light shot straight up into the sky!
"What happened?"
Tang Ye frowned. This idiot hadn’t strapped himself in! The impact force from firing such a powerful quantum weapon wasn’t something to be underestimated.
Before anyone could react, the biker on the turret was flung off and fell to the ground, becoming a puddle of gore on impact.
"Holy shit!"
All the bikers were flabbergasted. But then someone shouted, "Run!"
They looked up to see the turret’s blue light still going off, radiating immense power. The tremendous recoil caused the entire turret to spin around wildly, the cannon shooting aimlessly like a decapitated fly.
Whoosh!
A beam of blue light suddenly shot downwards, slicing several bikers clean in half. The others, startled, abandoned their scavenging efforts and ran for their lives.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The turret’s blue light swept around like a searchlight in a night market, and the people only dared to breathe a sigh of relief once they were out of the firing range.
"That was too close for comfort!"
"What an idiot!"
As the group’s spirit was shaken, they cursed at the biker who climbed up the turret. Amid the chatter, Tang Ye coolly said, "Don’t think there are no zombies left here. If you attract that Level 5 zombie over, I won’t be helping you."
His words immediately quieted the noise, and he paid no heed to them and continued heading deeper into the Gaozheng Base.
The conditions inside the base were even more brutal than Tang Ye imagined. Looking at the rotting, clay-like flesh scattered around, the invading zombie horde must have included millions!
Who could control millions of zombies?
Tang Ye examined his capabilities. After running the numbers, he realized that even if he used all his mental control and high-level volition, he could only control eight or nine hundred thousand.
That fell short compared to this mysterious will. You have to understand, this will didn’t just control zombies in Fengming City.
Upon reflection, there seemed to be more than one Guanyin...
