Chapter 590: Chapter 587 Mental Attack_1
The scene of zombies brawling left Chen Zhou’an and Niu Xiaosan stunned for a moment, but after glancing at Tang Ye and realizing he was a zombie too, they seemed to understand.
Apparently, a zombie with human intelligence would never allow another intelligent zombie to coexist in the same world. This made Tang Ye’s search for it make sense.
Two consciousnesses in the air were clashing constantly—like waves upon waves of murderous intent crashing against each other, overwhelming like a raging tide.
Although Tang Ye did not know the level of the opponent, its psychic abilities were as strong as Xu Haishui’s—and superior to his own. Even though Tang Ye could control purebred non-half-human half-zombies, the other could too.
And it did so brutally. For each zombie that Tang Ye controlled, it snatched one away. Its understanding of psychic manipulation was beyond Tang Ye’s reach.
Confronting consciousness was not Tang Ye’s forte, so trying to engage this creature in psychic manipulation would be a waste of time.
If the creature’s level was higher than his and its situation different from Tang Ye’s, it would certainly not tolerate the existence of an intelligent zombie like him.
However, it did not seek out Tang Ye directly—he sought it. This suggests that the creature was not of a higher level than Tang Ye. It was aware of its weakness, and the consequences of being discovered by Tang Ye were unimaginable!
Zombies with mental control could generally control non-mental zombies of the same level, such as Strength Type and Speed Type, and a small proportion could control zombies one level higher than themselves.
A Level Three Mental Zombie would usually be accompanied by many Level Three Speed Zombies and Strength Type Zombies, discarding zombies like Tang Ye who retained human thought. These zombies were slightly more intelligent than others, but not as intelligent as humans.
Their intelligence was at its max equivalent to that of a three-year-old human child. However, their weaknesses were glaring. Like Xu Haishui, they had powerful mental abilities but weak physical strength. Level 5 strength equated only to slightly under Level 4 physical strength.
If this creature was like Xu Haishui and Tang Ye discovered its hiding place, the consequences could be imagined.
At that moment, there would truly be no heaven to call upon or earth to bow to.
As he felt each zombie under his control being wrestled away, Tang Ye simply stopped trying to control them and stood as the wave of zombies rushed toward him.
"Sir, this..."
Seeing that Tang Ye could no longer control these zombies, Niu Xiaosan cried out in shock.
"What’s there to panic about?"
Tang Ye shot Niu Xiaosan a silent glance, then looked ahead and chuckled coldly.
"If I can’t beat you in this field, let’s see if you can control my Silver Guard Zombies!"
Tang Ye’s face twisted. As the swarm of huge zombies swarmed towards him, just as the first zombie’s hand was about to touch Tang Ye, a silvery arm shot out, grabbing the zombie’s hand!
Roar!
It was a powerful four-meter high Silver Guard Zombie. It roared in anger at the zombie, its fangs intimidating the zombie in front of it. Soon after, the snarling zombie flew into the air and shattered upon impact with the ground.
The consciousness in the air trembled, and Tang Ye felt a perplexed wave flowing from it. Clearly, the creature had attempted to control the Silver Guard Zombie but failed, hence its confusion.
"Hmph, give it your all."
Drawing his flesh blade, he pointed it at the zombie swarm. Tang Ye roared, "Attack!"
At his command, dozens of Silver Guard Zombies appeared. They leaped more than ten meters, landing in the horde of zombies like wolves among sheep, ruthlessly striking the controlled zombies.
"What kind of zombies are these?" Chen Zhou’an looked completely baffled upon seeing the Silver Guard Zombies. He had never seen such red-eyed, black-pupiled, silver-skinned zombies before.
"These are our master’s personal guard zombies," Niu Xiaosan said with a hint of boasting, as if he were Tang Ye himself.
"Bring it on!"
Tang Ye yelled at the consciousness in the air, contempt unabashedly written across his features.
It seemed that the creature felt insulted, for in the next second, Tang Ye felt a wave of dizziness wash over him and his thoughts went blank for a moment. Soon, however, his mind cleared again.
After a pause, Tang Ye realized that the creature had attempted to control him again out of sheer frustration but had failed.
Even though it hadn’t been successful, the sudden action had given Tang Ye an odd feeling. It’s hard to describe exactly how—like one of his something nerve endings being suddenly clenched then tugged upward, leaving a tingling sensation followed by a brief bout of memory loss.
"Worthless!" Once he recovered, Tang Ye continued to taunt. But the creature had smartened up. Having discovered its inability to do anything about Tang Ye, it simply ignored him, and it was hard to tell what kind of scheme it was currently hatching.
"Come on, you wretch! Give me everything you’ve got! Waste! Wait till I find you—I’ll break you down to nothing! Oh right, had forgotten for a second that you’re a zombie—you can’t feel pain. Fine then, when I find you, I’ll take you to a lab in Lin City and cut off your head—I’ll torture you forever!"
"Hehe, wouldn’t that be pleasurable? You thought of controlling me? Damn... couldn’t you back the fuck off? Try to control me and I’ll come back at you twice as hard! Come at me! Continue! This daddy’s waiting! Hurry up..."
Summoned by Tang Ye’s command, all the Silver Guard Zombies launched a merciless onslaught on the other zombies. Meanwhile, Tang Ye was busy launching a verbal assault at thin air. As he rambled on, Tang Ye himself was starting to feel impatient—as though if he didn’t find the creature soon, he would go insane.
That’s what zombies were like. Even if they possessed human thinking, their mindset inevitability gravitates toward extremes without them even realizing it.
It seemed that the creature could no longer stand Tang Ye’s ceaseless verbose assault. Its consciousness vibrated in the air, seemingly preparing for something. After a while, Tang Ye saw ripples forming in the air.
"Trash is still..."
The words Tang Ye was about to spit out froze in his mouth. He squinted at the sight before him for a while, then suddenly realized this was a psychic attack. He didn’t know how strong it was or how to defend against it, so all he could do was brace himself.
ZZZ...
Just for an instant, Tang Ye felt his body go numb, and a ringing echoed in his ears. He had tinnitus!
"F*ck..."
Tang Ye felt a little lost. His head seemed to be swelling and it made him uncomfortable. Then his thoughts suddenly went blank again. It was as if a waterfall had been abruptly cut off and there was suddenly nothing.
He couldn’t remember, think, or even control his body. This state lasted for about a minute before Tang Ye gradually came around.
"F*ck!"
Cursing aloud, Tang Ye felt somewhat high, everything he saw appeared blurry. However, that was the extent of the creature’s abilities—it was out of tricks after that one.
