Chapter 586: Chapter 583 Arrival at the Speedster Gang’s Headquarters_1

The blades made from the ordinary steel before the Apocalypse could only be used at most against Level 3 zombies. If they encountered those defense-oriented strength-type zombies, these cold weapons would either break or blunt.

As for the firearms from before the Apocalypse, their power was the same in anyone’s hands. The only question was accuracy. But aside from powerful weapons like sniper rifles and cannons, other firearms were only effective against Level 3 zombies or lower.

Sometimes, a new human could inflict more damage on zombies using cold weapons.

As for the Level 4 and Level 5 zombies, the weapons from before the Apocalypse were as useful as a tickling stick. Therefore, the majority of these pre-apocalyptic weapons were used by the outlaw wagon gang to combat other survivors.

That was undoubtedly tragic.

What’s more terrifying? By this stage of the Apocalypse, Level 4 zombies were appearing continuously and many cities were even reporting Level 5 zombies. As for the Level 6 zombies, they only appeared in certain parts of the world and remained very rare.

However, as time passed, the future might see Level 6 zombies appearing en masse just like the current Level 3 and Level 4 zombies.

"Who are you really? And what are you doing here?"

Chen Zhou’an rubbed his sore shoulder, gazing deeply at Tang Ye as he asked.

"I’m here to find something. I reckon you know what it is. I heard you have a brother named Zhou Quan. You guys wouldn’t happen to know what it is, eh? Heh-heh, take me to it."

At these words, Chen Zhou’an’s face changed as he eyed Tang Ye, his eyes flashing with thought.

"That thing, why... why do you want it?"

"It offended me."

"..."

Chen Zhou’an approached a few steps, looking at Tang Ye then at Niu Xiaosan. He fell into silence. After some time, he finally spoke: "I don’t know where it is, you should go."

"Oh, you don’t know?"

Tang Ye’s eyes flashed a dangerous glint, and his aura became violent. He then released the zombie’s aura within him, revealing his true identity.

Feeling the aura from Tang Ye, Chen Zhou’an instantly went from suspicion to surprise, blurting out: "You are a..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Chen Zhou’an immediately closed his mouth.

"You’d better take me to that thing. Otherwise, you’ll die here. And your brother too. Judging by your names, you and Zhou Quan are twins, right? You wouldn’t want anything to happen to your kin."

Chen Zhou’an began to back away, his face showing discomfort, clearly unsettled by Tang Ye’s words.

"Don’t even think about escaping. Consider whether you can outrun me first."

With an expression of resignation, Chen Zhou’an said, "I truly do not know where that thing you’re talking about is. He’s the one who brought you here. I can take you to where we live." He looked at Niu Xiaosan behind Tang Ye as he spoke.

Tang Ye gave Niu Xiaosan a glance. He couldn’t tell if Chen Zhou’an was telling the truth. Niu Xiaosan had brought him here because they suspected that the wisdom-zombie might be here.

"Alright, lead the way."

After a while, Tang Ye nodded his agreement and Chen Zhou’an could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"You follow me then."

He took the lead and started walking up the mountain path. The path was swarmed with low-level zombies who had just been infected. Just as Niu Xiaosan had described, these zombies did not attack Chen Zhou’an. Instead, they treated him like one of their own.

Of course, Tang Ye did nothing to these zombies. Seeing this scene, he became even more certain that the entity trying to control him was an evolved zombie!

It seemed like the end of the path wasn’t too far. Chen Zhou’an didn’t ride his bike. He just walked with Tang Ye at the front.

After about ten minutes of winding, Tang Ye saw a village gate. On top of the gate was a five to six-meter tall watchtower where several members of the outlaw wagon gang, each armed with guns, were standing.

These men exuded a murderous vibe, making them seem as if they were capable of killing many even without lifting a finger.

"Boss Chen, you’re back. Who are these behind you?"

An elderly man with dark skin and a corpulent frame respectfully greeted Chen Zhou’an, and asked with a confused expression when he saw Tang Ye and Niu Xiaosan.

"Nothing to worry about, they’re our guests."

"Oh, okay."

Following Chen Zhou’an’s lead, Tang Ye entered the village. There weren’t many people inside, but it was impossible to estimate the exact number.

There was a four to five-meter wide road in front that reached out all the way to the end. At the end was a square formed by the ruined houses that had been intentionally destroyed, leaving walls less than half a meter high. According to Niu Xiaosan, the Chen brothers probably held their gathering there.

Even though the surrounding houses had been fortified, you could clearly see fresh bullet holes on them. The outlaw bikers on the street didn’t seem surprised to see Tang Ye; it was obvious that Chen Zhou’an often brought outsiders in.

Yet, every time they saw Chen Zhou’an, they would greet him like servants, their deeply bent bows were so exaggerated that their waists almost touched the ground.

"Why did you stop us earlier?" While scanning the surroundings, Tang Ye asked Chen Zhou’an.

Chen Zhou’an’s gaze flashed with mixed emotions, seemingly bitter and unwilling to be controlled by others. He took a moment before responding, his voice strained and difficult.

"I didn’t want too many people to come in."

"Oh?"

"There are some things he should’ve told you about. They were lucky to escape from here, but coming back won’t be good."

The "he" Chen Zhou’an referred to was Niu Xiaosan. While Tang Ye was contemplating his words, a shout rang out from not too far.

"Bro!"

Chen Zhou’an turned to see a slightly younger man holding a gun, standing under the eaves of a house. This must be Chen Zhou’an’s brother, Zhou Quan. He ran over after calling out, his expression becoming strange when he saw Tang Ye.

"Who are you?"

Before Tang Ye could speak, Chen Zhou’an immediately patted Zhou Quan’s shoulder and said: "Alright, go do what you need to do."

"Come with me, sit for a bit in my place."

After forcibly dismissing Zhou Quan, Chen Zhou’an quickly took Tang Ye away.

The Chen brothers lived in a small, three-story Western-style house. There were no less than twenty outlaw bikers guarding around the house. After bringing Tang Ye in, Chen Zhou’an said a quick greeting and then hastily left.

After he left, Tang Ye heard several outlaw bikers outside chatting about something.
