I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 536 - 533: Simply Nonsense_1
Chapter 536: Chapter 533: Simply Nonsense_1
At his shout, people ran even faster, wishing they had more legs to run with.
There were also some survivors who bravely faced the zombies with sticks in hand. However, the moment zombies were about a meter away from them, Ruan Chao’en yelled, "Stop! Come back."
Then, they witnessed a scene that shattered their worldview. Those zombies actually turned around at Ruan Chao’en’s command and obediently returned to their cages.
"See that, everyone? This is the peace we have established with the zombies!"
Ruan Chao’en pointed at a zombie, walked up to it and placed a hand on its shoulder.
This zombie seemed indeed to be maintaining a peaceful demeanor towards him without launching any attacks, but it was constantly roaring angrily at non-Peace Party survivors as if seeing an archenemy.
Once again, there was an uproar among the crowd. They glanced at the zombies, then at the Peace Party soldiers who seemed indifferent to it all.
"No way, it’s real!"
"How... how... how is this possible?"
Now, people had to believe the Peace Party had indeed made peace with the zombies. Previously, images shared didn’t convince many. Only a few believed it while the majority were skeptical. Now, they believed it 100%!
With open arms, Ruan Chao’en exclaimed, "Did you see? This is our peace! The path of peace taken by the Peace Party is definitely a road laced with risks and challenges. Establishing peace with zombies seems highly implausible, but bear in mind, we’re doing this for the future of mankind. There are just too many zombies; their power has struck deep into your hearts. Even if we resort to slaughter, when will it end?"
"While mankind is progressing, so too are the zombies. In this struggle against them, lots of time is needed! A year? Two years? Perhaps a decade? By that time, zombies might have evolved into Level 8 or Level 9! That’s a terrifying force. If we can’t fight them, we can only make peace!"
"Many people think we’re crazy, but we’re not! Let me ask you, who among you dare to pick up your weapons and battle zombies?"
The air fell silent for a moment. No one responded to his question. Ruan Chao’en just laughed and continued, "There must be some, right? But very, very few, correct?"
"What kind of life do you want? I believe it’s to return to a time before the Apocalypse. The fastest way to achieve that is by maintaining peace with the zombies. Sharing the world’s resources together and not bothering one another, isn’t that great?"
There was uncertainty etched on some survivors’ faces. Ruan Chao’en’s grand vision was truly tempting and visible. His words were right, these survivors’ biggest wish was to return to pre-apocalyptic days, leading carefree lives. Although they would struggle to provide for their families, it would still be infinitely better than existing in this post-apocalyptic world.
"Then... then how do you establish peace with zombies? How is it accomplished?"
Someone asked quietly, a question that many wanted to know the answer to.
"I’ll answer your question later. Our Marshal was the first one to establish peace with the zombies. Moreover, he’s a compassionate man who cannot bear to see his own kind living like vermin. The Marshal established the Peace Party to allow us to communicate with the zombies and not have us live like rats anymore!"
"You’ve seen how we live, don’t you all yearn for it too? Where did we get this kind of life from? By forging peace with zombies!"
"Since time immemorial, humanity has evolved between periods of chaos and peace. It’s but natural these two aspects coexist in the same timeline. However, for most people, for a blissful life, peace is indispensable. No matter with whom this peace is formed, it is something we all want!"
"Of course, some people need peace, but others enjoy the Apocalypse! Only in the chaos of the apocalypse some people can gain a lot. Regrettably though, you are not among that small fraction. But our Marshal, he is, yet he chose to forgo what he could gain and chose to help you escape from this plight! Tell me, is our Marshal great or not?"
"Great!"
Before the survivors could react, Peace Party soldiers started chanting loudly. Some of the survivors, caught up in the fervor, also followed suit, yelling "Great" along with them.
"Hold on, as I mentioned before, there are two types of people during the Apocalypse: those who can seize fortunes and those who can’t, like you all. Our Peace Party wants to end this Apocalypse, which naturally offends the former group. They will try to stop us, because to do so is to perpetuate your suffering, are you willing to accept this"
"No!"
Hearing Ruan Chao’en, the survivors whose interest was piqued earlier and who now had hope for the future roared defiantly.
"Exactly! If you are unwilling, then we need to learn to rebel. The Peace Party will stand with you, to battle against those who do not want to end the Apocalypse!"
"Our Marshal is the beacon of hope in the Apocalypse, who will lead you out of it. His glorious radiance will shine upon you. It was only through his existence that we could establish peace with the zombies. Moreover, only by joining the Peace Party can you enjoy this peace with zombies..."
...
Slam!
In the sumptuously decorated office, Li Songhua’s face turned red as he slammed his teacup onto the floor. His other hand had creased the documents he held.
"What utter nonsense!"
Ever since he had started consuming Evolution Crystal Cores to enhance his strength, Li Songhua found it increasingly difficult to control his emotions.
During this period, batches of new survivors entered Qinshan Base every day, and each time, the number of Peace Party members would increase, without exception.
He had sent people to investigate and found that the new survivors entering daily were from Lin City. Moreover, once they entered the Peace Party’s territory, their shabby clothes would be replaced with brand-new Peace Party military uniforms.
In less than two months, over five thousand people had joined Qinshan Base!
Half of them joined the Peace Party.
Since the Apocalypse, humanity had long grown accustomed to the current era. There were no longer endless waves of survivors joining Qinshan Base like in the early days. It would be considered a good month if over a thousand survivors joined. However, this month, over two thousand survivors joined on average!
And then there was the Peace Party, already with over two thousand members and still growing!
This was way too many compared to other factions!
None of the other factions within Qinshan Base, excluding the dominant one led by Li Songhua, had more than a couple of thousand members, let alone a thousand!
