Chapter 238: Chapter 236: Kill on Command_1
Seeing the hundreds of people in front of him remaining silent for a while, Su Sigui subtly arched an eyebrow, her eyes squinting, a dangerous glint of murderous intent flashed through.
"Nobody’s speaking? If I recall rightly, a long time ago, I said, no one is allowed to rob other people’s supplies, especially my forces!"
"My men should have mentioned my name when you killed them. However, they still ended up dead. You think murder is unnoticed and unsuspected. But I still found you...You seriously think my men are easy targets?"
Su Sigui’s tone turned cold. Despite no blatant murderous intent in her words, the air temperature seemed to drop several degrees, causing a few to shiver in the scorching summer heat.
The crowd remained silent. Su Sigui swept her gaze across them, her attention lingering especially on a kneeling figure at the front.
Three men at the front had their eyes darting around, not knowing what to do. Su Sigui spotted something odd in their eyes, a faint smile played on her lips, a cold and detached smile.
"Li Xin!"
Suddenly, Su Sigui shouted out a name in a cold tone. The surrounding crowd looked at each other in surprise, unsure of whom she was referring to.
Hearing his name, one of the three men upfront shivered slightly. He looked around in confusion before realizing that he was being called. However, he wondered how this woman knew his name.
What he didn’t know was that Su Sigui had already investigated every survivor group surrounding them, and she was fully aware of the top brass in every survivor settlement!
Li Xin was a hanger-on, a lackey of the boss in this survivor group. Though he was a lackey, after their boss died, the three of them naturally became the most influential trio.
Su Sigui even knew that it was this Li Xin who had led people and snatched his men’s supplies!
Moreover, having lived for over ten years after the Apocalypse, she had a deep understanding of human nature!
Just a glance at the trio gave her enough clues about their intentions.
As the saying goes, it’s better to be a chicken’s head than a phoenix’s tail. Everyone wants to be at the top. In a post-apocalyptic world, being in a powerful survivor group brings many benefits. However, joining an even stronger group might change their status and standing.
Su Sigui was not entirely sure of what the trio were thinking, but she was pretty close.
"Wh...what? You’re calling me?" Li Xin stuttered as he stood up nervously.
"Yes, you!"
"What’s the matter?"
"What’s the matter? You led people to kill my men and rob my resources. What’s the matter? I want an explanation!"
"I...I didn’t!"
The color drained from Li Xin’s face. Panic flickered in his eyes at her words, which Su Sigui caught.
"You didn’t? And if you did?"
"If... That’s impossible... It... it wasn’t me!"
"Oh, is that so? If it was, what if I kill you then, would that be alright?"
Li Xin’s heart was in turmoil. He didn’t know how this woman in front of him could find out, or maybe she couldn’t find out anything at all. But he had no assurances. What if she did somehow manage to find out?
He did not want to die!
His only goal now was to lead his men in escaping and finding a safe haven to continue living comfortably, enjoy the pleasure of women occasionally and revel in the food supplied by his underlings.
As myriad thoughts flashed in his mind, Li Xin’s face was a picture of awkwardness, not knowing how to respond.
Su Sigui had clearly stated that if he was the perpetrator, she would kill him. She never said there was room for negotiation if he owned up.
Maybe she doesn’t know. Why would she ask me if she already knew?
Either way, it seemed like he was doomed. Li Xin was baffled about what Su Sigui had in mind. It was too difficult to guess.
It was like in a game of rock-paper-scissors. If one player announces their move beforehand, the game takes an interesting turn.
His thoughts were in disarray. After a brief pause, Li Xin made a decision and pretended to be calm. He stated firmly, "I didn’t kill them! I never stole your supplies! You are framing me!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a loud "bang" rang out. Su Sigui pulled out a handgun in a blur of motion and fired a shot directly at Li Xin’s head.
Li Xin stood stupified, feeling the blood oozing from his forehead. His eyes lost focus as he looked at Su Sigui, and with a soft "thump," he collapsed on the ground, dead with his eyes wide open.
He didn’t understand why Su Sigui had shot him. Why did she make such a decisive move? Did she already know the truth? If so, how did she find out? He was at a loss.
But now, he had no time to ponder these questions. His consciousness blurred, and he died.
The remaining two were dumbstruck. Looking at Li Xin, they exchanged a glance, recognizing the fear in each other’s eyes.
This woman just killed a man without hesitation!
The two knew very well that Li Xin had been behind those murderous raids for supplies. They had silently agreed not to say anything. Now, they felt a bit relieved. Luckily, they had been too afraid to participate in the robbery against Su Sigui’s forces when Li Xin had called upon them.
No joke, this woman had developed a survivor camp from a mere dozen to such a scale through her cunning tactics. Of the over three thousand survivors in the camp, almost half of them could be considered a fighting force, and almost every one of them was armed!
If these men caught even the faintest of cluet, she might retaliate! While feeling relieved, they were also worried about how Su Sigui would treat them next.
The two had planned to persuade the seemingly gentle woman in front of them to let them go based on their eloquence. But now, they dared not entertain that thought anymore.
Even a fool could see that this twenty-year-old girl was a ruthless killer!
As Li Xin collapsed, there was a shriek from behind. A little boy around eight or nine years old rushed out, wailing. Ignoring the woman who was trying to hold him back, he ran up to Li Xin’s body, lying on his chest and sobbing uncontrollably.
"Daddy! Don’t die! Boo... Hoo... You killed my Daddy! I hate you! Why did you kill my Daddy?"
Crying, the little boy suddenly turned to Su Sigui and cried out accusingly. Su Sigui looked back at him indifferently, her baby-faced look making her seem rather adorable and caring.
However, that compassion had been obliterated in her previous life!
She glanced at the little boy and walked up to him, cleaning her gun as she did. The boy jumped up and began to pummel her with his fists, but his little fists lacked any real strength.
She continued cleaning her gun, her eyes fixated on the shiny barrel, seemingly oblivious to the little boy’s presence.
Just as everyone thought she was going to comfort the boy, they heard a "click".
They witnessed the scene that happened next, which was beyond their expectation.
