I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 1679 - 1673: Seeking Death

Chapter 1679: Chapter 1673: Seeking Death

"Sorry." Ghost Head returned a smile to the other person. Yes, he himself couldn’t understand it, so how could a zombie?

Yong scratched his head. He temporarily didn’t know why Ghost Head said those two words to him.

Unable to figure it out, he simply remained puzzled. The birth of life doesn’t necessarily need to have a meaningful purpose, but thinking this way felt somewhat insincere. Putting everything else aside, Ghost Head chose to watch the not-so-beautiful scenery outside together with Yong.

Time passed second by second, and the night grew deeper. Suddenly, Ghost Head saw a figure appear. With a raised eyebrow, he realized that person... was the guy who had been hiding behind the water tank earlier. He didn’t know when that person had entered the building through the roof trapdoor and now had climbed back up.

"Hey?" He shouted softly to the other person, but it seemed that person didn’t hear and didn’t look his way. Instead, it was the two people in the living room who came out.

"Who are you calling?"

"The person over there."

"Someone else? Be careful!"

"Don’t panic, it’s an ordinary person, unarmed, and alone. I saw him before, and when I called out to him, he got scared and hid. I don’t know what he’s doing now."

"I see."

Hearing Ghost Head’s words, Brother Shi and Ghost Head both lowered their weapons and watched the behavior of that person across from them.

That guy, upon reaching the rooftop, walked straight towards the edge of the building. To attract his attention, Ghost Head scanned the ground and picked up a small piece of rubble that had been knocked off by the weapons of five soldiers earlier in the day.

"Hey!"

With a gentle force, the rubble flew out of Ghost Head’s hand and directly hit the floor in front of that person, stopping him in his tracks.

He looked over, and Ghost Head was about to greet him, inviting him to come over and chat with them. Unexpectedly, the person picked up the rubble he had thrown, and without a word, threw it back. This action held no extra meaning; it was simply to hurl it back! But the aim was off, way off, not even landing on the building where Ghost Head and others were.

But the person didn’t care whether the rubble he returned hit Ghost Head and them. After throwing it, he raised a hand and flipped them the middle finger!

"What the fuck!" Seeing this gesture, Wu Zhixiong almost exploded. That guy was just an ordinary person, all by himself, and dared to provoke them like this? This was nothing but seeking death!

If they wanted, they could easily bridge the gap between the buildings and catch that guy to teach him a lesson!

Ghost Head was also a bit stunned; he wondered if that guy had lost his mind. Went inside the building and came out acting all arrogant?

"Ma De, get him!" Brother Shi raised his hand, intent on causing trouble for that guy across the way, while Ghost Head had already stepped over the railing. For them, these Level 2 New Humans, an ordinary person was no trouble!

But just then, Ghost Head stopped.

"Wait a minute." He straddled the railing, stopping Brother Shi and the two others ready to cross over, frowning as he looked at the person opposite. They also sensed something was amiss, observing the person’s actions.

"What’s he trying to do?"

The person didn’t care what Ghost Head and the others might do to him. He walked all the way to the building’s edge, looked down, and then climbed up onto the low wall at the very edge...

"Damn!"

They finally realized that guy was truly seeking death!

"Hey!" Ghost Head shouted across to him, the sound causing a stir among the zombies, prompting Ghost Head to quickly shut his mouth!

"Dude... don’t think this way!" He used the lowest voice he could muster to try and stop the guy’s actions. The person only glanced at them, the night too dark to see the expression on his face, only his frail silhouette, like he could be blown away by the wind.

"We mean you no harm... just want to get to know you... After all, an extra person means extra strength... Haven’t been noticed by zombies, have you?"

"Stay steady."

"Okay, huh? Aren’t I right? Come down, if you’ve got the courage to die, why not have the courage to live?"

The three began to dissuade the person’s suicidal behavior, but despite their words, the person only glanced once more, shook his head, said nothing, and finally spread his arms, leaning forward, fell toward the ground.

"This..."

The three exchanged glances, unable to speak for a moment. They watched as the shadowy figure from across the way fell straight, crashing to the ground, his body shattering like an overripe watermelon, spilling tomato juice across the darkened ground. Zombies, attracted by the scent of blood, swarmed in like a pack of wolves, licking at the broken body and scattered fluids.

What kind of despair makes a person contemplate suicide? They didn’t want to delve into it. They only knew there was someone who couldn’t endure the atmosphere within Sanctuary City that night. He was likely one of the residents who hadn’t made it out in time, still missing his family of unknown fate, unsure how long he could survive.

That night, the stars shone brightly, but the moon was absent. The trees by the roadside, standing for countless years, quietly observed the unfolding scenes. That night was so deep, so long.

They didn’t know how they fell asleep on such a night, only that they were awakened by a sudden jolt. Upon opening their eyes, the sight of a ruined ceiling greeted them, accompanied by the already tiresome echo of zombie roars in their ears.

"Wake up!"

"Get up!"

"Oh man! Gave me a fright. Just dreamt a zombie was munching on me!"

"Hey, Yong? You weren’t asleep?"

"He’s always like this!"

The three hurriedly got up from the ground and went outside to look below, and upon seeing, their expressions changed. The cause remained unknown to them, but they observed a Level 6 zombie charging out from their office building, directly colliding with a person.

And that person had lost an arm, his clothes long since tattered beyond recognition, with the remnants hanging from a small section of waistband, exposing his upper body. His skin color was indiscernible due to copious amounts of blood covering him, forming a thin layer of scab as a "armor" in the coagulation process!

"Who is that?"

The three frowned. The person below was saturated with blood scent, unmistakably a Level 8 New Human. Yet, they didn’t feel that the appearance of a Level 8 New Human would make their environment any safer. The blood scent emanating from that person would undoubtedly attract zombies of the same level!

"Whoever that is? How did he appear here?"

"Pack up your things, we need to leave immediately!"
