Chapter 1455: Chapter 1450: For Your Life Safety
People in black coats were lifting the stretcher with the body and heading downstairs. Tang Ye stepped aside and watched them leave, while a waiter beside him said to his colleague, "The guest in Room 203’s phone just rang, said it was his friend."
"Did you tell him what happened?"
"Yes, but I don’t know what happened to that person; he suddenly hung up the phone."
"Let it be, just call the police."
"Okay."
Tang Ye looked around and, as if joining the spectacle, arrived at the doorway of Room 203 and peered inside. There was a large amount of fresh blood on the bed, along with some blood and flesh scattered everywhere, filling the air with a strong scent of blood. Some of the bloodstains had already dried and turned brown, indicating that the person in this room had been dead for at least two hours.
Those who were faint-hearted had already turned pale and dared not look inside the room. A slight sour and stinky smell emanated from the garbage can nearby, obviously someone had just vomited into it.
"Looks like he’s been dead for quite some time?" Tang Ye muttered to himself, then followed the people in black coats downstairs. Outside the hotel entrance, an ambulance was parked, and many onlookers curiously watched. Just as the people in black coats were about to lift the stretcher with the body into the ambulance, Tang Ye, as before, pretended to casually walk past the ambulance.
"Ouch!"
"What’s wrong?"
"I felt like something just pulled me?"
"What? I didn’t see anything."
"Huh? Maybe it was just a cramp just now?"
"How is it now?"
One of the people in black coats suddenly let out a scream, then looked around cluelessly with his colleagues, scratching his head, not knowing what had happened. During this moment, Tang Ye took the chance to stretch out a tentacle and lift a corner of the white cloth on the stretcher.
The corpse lying on the stretcher revealed its face to Tang Ye, although only for a very short moment, it was enough for Tang Ye.
This corpse was the man he had searched for yesterday on the second floor! He was dead!
His body was covered in blood, his clothes stained and dried, the clothing around his waist was torn beyond recognition, exposing skin and flesh that showed vicious wounds from being torn and bitten. One of his thighs appeared as if it had been chopped by a blade against a hard object, revealing startling white bones and tissues!
His face had pits here and there, one eye was missing, leaving behind an empty socket that looked horrifying. A chunk of flesh was missing from his right cheek, and from his jawbone to near the edge of his nose, there was a deep, bone-exposing claw mark!
The man’s current appearance made it difficult to discern what he originally looked like. Even if he hadn’t died, having barely survived, his face would have been completely disfigured, but Tang Ye could still recognize this man as the one he had encountered yesterday.
And these wounds on his body, Tang Ye was all too familiar with; they were clearly caused by something biting him, possibly a zombified creature. However, he had just checked the man’s room, and the blood left at the scene had already started to dry up and turn brown, indicating that the man had been dead for a while.
Looking at these horrific wounds, if they were caused by a zombified creature, a normal person would turn into a zombified creature within an hour, knowing only to devour madly. But at this moment, the man’s corpse had not turned zombified; it was just an ordinary corpse, which made Tang Ye more suspicious about the identity of the killer.
"Could it be something other than a zombified creature? A wild beast? No, that’s not realistic..."
A hotel staff member came out from the hotel entrance and said something to those in black coats who were collecting the body. One of the black coats walked up to Tang Ye and said, "Stop looking, there’s nothing to see."
The black coat in front of him raised a hand and waved at Tang Ye, who took a couple of steps back, then watched as several black coats lifted the man’s corpse into the ambulance.
"Hey, wait a moment?" He called out to one of the black coats, having just noticed that others, whether passing pedestrians, hotel staff, or even some individuals dressed similarly to doctors, had a discomfort on their faces when they saw the man’s corpse. However, these black coats had no reaction at all, as if they were used to seeing such things.
"What is it?" asked the black coat, turning back and looking puzzled.
"Do you often encounter incidents like this?"
"Yeah." The black coat just casually nodded.
"Is it always treated like this when the regulations are violated?"
"Yeah."
"Do they all die in the same way?"
When Tang Ye asked this question, the black coat looked at Tang Ye thoughtfully, narrowed his eyes, thought for a moment, then asked, "Did you just see?"
"See what?"
"His appearance."
"Now?"
"Yeah."
"I saw."
"I advise you, if you see someone dying like this, don’t be curious, some things are contagious."
"Contagious?" Tang Ye was stunned, but the black coat stopped talking, and after they lifted the stretcher into the car, they left.
Soon after, the sound of a siren "wailing" echoed from afar. Tang Ye suddenly thought of something and approached the receptionist from yesterday, asking, "Hey?"
"Sir, can I help you?"
"I want to ask about that man..."
"That guest, ah, he died because he violated the regulations."
"Is it always this type of death when the regulations are violated?"
"Well... Sir, I’m sorry, I’m not too familiar with that aspect, is there anything else?"
"Can I see the surveillance?"
"Sir..." Hearing Tang Ye’s request, the receptionist was troubled, when an older woman approached Tang Ye and began speaking, "Sir, hello, I am the hotel manager."
"Oh, hello."
"I would like to know, why do you want to watch the surveillance?"
Tang Ye frowned, thinking it was a silly question, but seeing her respectful demeanor, he chose not to say anything harsh and replied, "I want to see what happened to that man yesterday, it might not be because he violated the regulations."
The hotel manager nodded but did not agree to let Tang Ye watch the surveillance. Instead, she solemnly advised him, "Sir, regardless of why that gentleman died, for your own safety, do not casually be curious about unknown realms of humanity."
