The third possibility is that a human survivor base is too close to a region heavily populated by zombies, with the blood and life within attracting their attention and leading to an assault by the horde.

A Level 6 zombie can summon a horde of up to nine hundred thousand, a fact that has been verified. As for Level 7 zombies, although their formidable presence had been witnessed around the world, they remained exceedingly rare and didn’t cluster like humans. The scale of a horde a Level 7 zombie could summon was unknown, but the first cause was quickly dismissed; if a zombie had designated Cloud Gorge Base as a hunting spot, its influence would surely not extend beyond ten kilometers. Yet, in Xige City, the entire city seemed driven by an obscure force!
