Chapter 1162: Chapter 1157: The Main Purpose is Not to Fight
Tang Ye had to admit, the combat strength of these identical-looking individuals was simply too mediocre. It wasn’t that they were weak, but rather, among those of the same level, their power and speed, along with various other indicators, seemed quite ordinary.
Not to mention the two from Level 7, even the six Level 6 New Humans were far inferior to a New Human like Li Xiaoyan. Of course, they were not something Level 5 New Humans could contend with, their strength was firmly within the Level 6 tier.
But that was all, merely at the level of Level 6, with no surprises in strength and not stronger than other elite warriors at the same level. If it weren’t for the strong defense provided by their Aurora Breather exoskeleton suits, it would be hard to explain why several of them hadn’t died already.
As for the Level 7 New Humans, although Tang Ye didn’t have much understanding of the divisions within the Level 7 New Humans, he had interacted with Lin Jie and had a clear grasp of his strength. He didn’t know what level Lin Jie’s full strength would be among all Level 7 New Humans, but compared to Lin Jie, these two Level 7 individuals were far too inferior; mediocre was the only way to describe them.
And it wasn’t just one person, that applied to all eight of them!
It was a strange feeling, as if these eight individuals were products from an assembly line, standardized in every aspect!
There wasn’t any remarkable highlight.
As the strong clashed with all their might, buildings in the area collapsed at a visibly fast pace, some even disintegrating into dust in an instant under the terrifying force!
From Tang Ye’s perspective, the warriors from the United District began to fall one after another, their B-class exoskeleton battle suits damaged, with pieces falling off. Only Hatred seemed to be doing slightly better; with a fighting style as vicious as a rabid dog, once he started, it was a fight to the death. Realizing that the Aurora Breather’s masks were their weakest point, every attack was aimed there.
For a moment, Hatred actually managed to punch through the Aurora Breather’s mask and injure the person inside.
On the scene, every warrior was like a being of mystery, each move they made caused buildings to be ripped apart into countless pieces by the powerful tempests with but a wave of their hands!
On the streets, the screams of people who couldn’t evacuate the area in time filled the air, and many were buried beneath the collapsing buildings, becoming lost souls of this place.
Tang Ye’s frown deepened until Xu Haishui was gripped by the neck by Ning Tianlang, a Level 7 New Human. Bending his knees, an overwhelming force erupted from his legs, and then he soared into the sky, shooting hundreds of meters up.
"Surrender!" Ning Tianlang roared, lifting Xu Haishui’s head high, even through the exoskeleton suit clear outlines of his muscular arms were almost visible.
With a burst of force, Xu Haishui was thrown toward the ground.
Boom!
The earth trembled as if it was shuddering; the cement surface shattered like fragile a water’s surface, with Xu Haishui falling from the sky, slamming into it and causing waves to rise hundreds of meters high.
As water splashed up for an instant, time seemed to stop, the crater on the surface did not recover. It remained frozen before everyone’s eyes, with Xu Haishui in the center, his face showing anger as he looked at Ning Tianlang in the distance, the barely restrained murderous intent almost turning into swords thrusting at his adversary.
But it wasn’t long before the look in Xu Haishui’s eyes, filled with murderous intent, was buried beneath the dust and debris from the collapsing buildings.
Ugh—roar—
Enveloped by the rubble, Xu Haishui let out a growl that was more ferocious than any beast, sweeping aside the ruins in front of him with his hand. Just as he tried to stand, Ning Tianlang in mid-air disagreed!
Ning Tianlang’s body leaned forward, lights on the exoskeleton suit lit up one after another, emitting a bewitching purple glow. At this moment, Ning Tianlang transformed into a meteor, streaking across the sky with his tail extending over ten meters, dreamlike and ethereal.
"Bring it on! Hahaha!" Xu Haishui cackled wildly, seemingly careless of the consequences, unleashing all his power. Yet even then, Ning Tianlang, turned into a streak of light, rushed toward him.
Xu Haishui held his blades at the ready, the purple lights on his exoskeleton suit flickering on and off. Approximately a fraction of a second later, the purple lights shone brightly, turning Ning Tianlang into a figure of purple light.
Xu Haishui hadn’t yet reacted, when Ning Tianlang crashed into him, the sudden surge of force catching Xu Haishui off guard. Before he could control his appendages to attack the enemy, he was dragged hundreds of meters away by Ning Tianlang, feeling as if he was bound by something.
This sensation made Xu Haishui feel as if he had lost all his strength, imprisoned in an ant shaped room that was just big enough to enclose him, leaving no space to move.
He didn’t understand what was happening, but just watched as Ning Tianlang stood before him, looking down with a cold gaze.
"Your shell is too hard, I can’t do anything to you, but let’s see if you have the guts to kill me! Heh heh heh hahaha."
Xu Haishui let out a strange laugh, which sounded ghostly to human ears. Ning Tianlang’s eyes moved to Xu Haishui’s forehead, noticing a black line, but apart from that, it was smooth. His brows furrowed; he had struck Xu Haishui’s head with his blade earlier, but it seemed to have had no effect, and now there wasn’t even a wound, just a fading black line.
He didn’t bother with Xu Haishui any longer. After fighting him so far, he had a basic understanding of some of Xu Haishui’s abilities—damage to the brain tissue wouldn’t kill him, and he had no better way to kill Xu Haishui. Instead of wasting time here, it was better to move on to the main task at hand.
They hadn’t come to the Central District just to fight its powerful warriors.
With a cold snort, Ning Tianlang flicked his hand, and the thin blade in his hand pierced through Xu Haishui, nailing him to the ground.
Then, he turned and faced Tang Ye head-on, their gazes colliding fiercely.
As they stared at each other, a sly grin appeared on Tang Ye’s face after a moment.
