I Am Not Goblin Slayer
Chapter 14: The Final Fireworks

Gauss staggered over to Bell’s side.

At this moment, Bell’s face was terrifyingly pale from excessive blood loss.

But the sword in his hand still swayed shakily.

Neither of the two goblins dared to approach.

They only turned their heads simultaneously to look at Gauss as he approached.

Gauss’s entire body was repeatedly drenched in sticky, foul-smelling blood, almost crusting over.

He ignored the grime on his body.

Taking advantage of the brief moments spent walking, he had already started to gather some strength again.

Looking up at the goblins, his gaze met theirs.

The two goblins sniffed the air, and only when Gauss came close did they detect a familiar scent lingering— the bloody stench of their own kind.

An invisible pressure began to emanate from Gauss once more. The vengeful spirits of the dead goblin kids clung unwillingly behind him, clawing and howling, venting their unresolved grudges.

Gauss already possessed a faint suppressive effect on ordinary goblins, similar to a cat’s genetic instinct to dominate mice.

He gathered the remaining scant strength, swinging the dagger in his hand toward one of the goblins.

Unfortunately, even though he intimidated the goblin, his strength was less than a third of his normal state.

The goblin staggered backward two steps, dodging his sudden attack.

The other goblin’s cloudy eyes gleamed with slyness. Gauss’s movement had once again shaken off its intimidation, making it realize how weak he was at this moment.

The previously flickering timidity vanished like smoke, replaced by greed and a rising bloodthirsty will.

“Whoosh!!”

“Shh!”

At that moment, a black streak tore through the air. The arrowhead wrapped in silvery moonlight flew more than twenty meters, piercing precisely into the chest of the goblin dodging Gauss’s attack.

It was Hayley drawing her bow and firing, forcibly activating her skill to provide long-range support again.

“From here on, it’s up to you...”

Hayley’s arm hung down, glowing red. She had exhausted her last bit of strength using her skill again. She didn’t even have the energy to lift her arm now. The aftereffects of overusing her skill made her chest burn painfully. Leaning against a tree trunk, she gasped, watching Gauss.

Gauss reacted quickly. Almost at the moment the arrow hit, he clenched the dagger with both hands in front of him.

Enduring the stabbing pain underfoot, he rushed toward the injured goblin.

His body carried momentum as he pressed the dagger against the wound in its chest made by the arrow.

The blade sank into flesh and blood.

Blood splattered everywhere!

But he did not stop moving. The goblin howled in pain and rushed forward several meters.

The goblin’s vitality drained rapidly as if hit by a large truck head-on, its consciousness gradually fading.

“Cough cough—”

A mouthful of fresh blood sprayed from the goblin’s mouth, landing on Gauss’s chest.

The goblin, fatally wounded, finally lost its breath. Its eyes darkened, completely lifeless, falling into silence.

At this moment, text appeared before Gauss’s eyes.

“Goblin killed *1”

“Total monsters killed: 10”

“Next stage: accumulate total monster kills to 50!”

“Reward gained: Profession Skill Rank 1 Spell [Magic Missile]!”

“Vitality +1”

“Current Vitality: 6”

In just a few breaths, a surge of new power rapidly welled up inside Gauss’s body.

His once parched body felt like it was being nourished by rain, revitalized anew.

Instantly, he felt his breathing lengthen.

His internal organs visibly strengthened.

His trembling, weak arms and legs, along with overloaded tendons and tissues, gradually relaxed again under the nourishing flow. Abundant stamina slowly rose within him.

Within seconds, aside from the wounds on his body, his condition was completely renewed.

“As expected! Upon reaching a new stage, the Adventurer’s Manual grants new rewards.”

Taking a deep breath, he felt reassured by the freshly imprinted spell in his mind and his restored physical strength.

Killing had given him the power to rise again in this battle.

He turned to look at the other goblin who had barely mustered courage, expressionless.

With a slight body shift, the goblin’s wooden club swung toward him but was easily dodged.

The vitality increase seemed to have also raised his physical strength to a new level, significantly reducing the mismatch delay between his strong mind and body.

A single ordinary goblin was now even weaker against him.

The dagger’s blade gleamed silver as it flashed, piercing through the goblin’s waist and abdomen in an instant—old strength gone, new strength not yet fully formed.

Gauss twisted his wrist, crushing the entrails, then withdrew the dagger to let the blood flow in one fluid motion.

“Goblin killed *1”

“Total monsters killed: 11”

Hayley, leaning against a tree trunk gasping for breath, saw this and widened her eyes.

Just seconds ago, Gauss had been utterly exhausted, but now, in a brief moment, his rebirth in battle left her unable to comprehend what had just happened.

But soon, hope reignited in her previously bleak heart.

If Gauss could regain his fighting power, perhaps...

“Roar!!!”

A thunderous roar echoed through the forest, breaking Hayley’s thoughts.

The large goblin’s greatsword suddenly erupted with overwhelming power.

Mia, barely holding on, seemed to hear the crisp snap of her arm breaking.

The resistance in her hand quickly drained due to the pain of the fractured bone.

“Thud!!”

Mia was directly flung through the air.

Her small frame slammed heavily against a tree trunk, spraying a mouthful of blood, then bounced and fell to the ground.

The large goblin’s face contorted fiercely. The sweet scent of human blood made its whole body burn with heat.

It looked at the motionless figure in the distance, licking its lips as it slowly approached.

One step, two steps...

Suddenly, a rushing sound came from behind.

After a brief whoosh, a sharp pain stabbed its back.

The dagger had pierced through a gap in the leather armor and stabbed into its waist.

Immediately, intense pain rapidly spread into its lower abdomen.

“Roar roar roar!”

The large goblin’s eyes bulged red from the pain.

It swung its head violently, glaring fiercely with a pair of bloodshot eyes at Gauss, who had just thrown the dagger and stepped back to maintain distance.

Now completely consumed by rage, it no longer cared why its once staggering opponent was suddenly reborn with strength.

All it wanted was to tear that human apart!

Rip out his intestines, gouge out his heart, devour every piece of flesh on his body until nothing remained—only then could it ease the agony it was feeling.

Its muscles bulged all over its body.

Unknowingly, its skin had turned a deep crimson.

The coiled muscles throbbed with terrifying strength awakened by fury, fully transformed into a bloodthirsty beast!

It had become stronger!

Unlike the berserk goblins, Gauss, who faced it now, was terrifyingly calm.

His mind had never been so focused.

A night of fighting had completely hammered his spirit into a singular state in this brief moment—a mental flow state that ordinary people could only dream of.

“Thud!”

The large goblin moved!

It stomped on the ground, causing a rumbling tremor.

Its muscles exploded with power, roaring forward like a tank toward Gauss.

Even the wind seemed to tear apart.

At the battlefield’s edge, the last surviving companions all watched intently.

Is this still... a goblin?

The goblin’s frenzied, unfamiliar posture was so strong that Hayley couldn’t believe it was still a goblin.

She instinctively held her breath.

Mia and Bell, weakened on the ground, struggled to open their eyes.

With chins resting on the ground, they slightly raised their heads to look toward the center of the battlefield.

Could he do it?

Gauss couldn’t hear his teammates’ thoughts.

He focused solely on what was before him.

His single hand crossed in front of his chest, and the will in his eyes was about to solidify into something tangible.

Seven points of intelligence!

Not just a little more than five points.

It was possibly two to three times the difference.

But until now, he had never fully tapped into his mental potential.

Seven points of intelligence was not something that could be thoroughly extracted with just a few days of spell training.

Only now, facing this terrifying opponent at full strength, did his tense spirit finally break through the invisible barrier!

Break!

Abundant mental power surged wildly in his brain, and his slender black hair moved as if blown by windless air!

The newly imprinted Rank 1 spell [Magic Missile] was awakened at the same moment.

The key to successfully casting was focus.

Now, with his spirit fully activated at one hundred percent, the entire world began to feel pure and simple.

The large goblin closed in!

Drool splattered from its sharp fangs into the air.

It charged with the will to crush Gauss.

Gauss’s will became even more concentrated!

The next moment, a blue light began to glow in his palm.

The light was initially faint but quickly expanded!

It continuously emitted dazzling light, devouring darkness and illuminating the pitch-black forest.

By the time the blue orb fully condensed in his hand, the goblin was only five meters away.

At its speed, it would reach Gauss in less than a second and tear him apart.

But this one second felt like an impenetrable chasm!

The heavy blue orb was hurled forcefully by Gauss!

“Boom!”

The heavy orb stretched into an oval beam.

With terrifying speed, it slammed into the large goblin’s muscular abdomen.

“Bang!”

The large goblin’s body was hit by the magic missile as if struck by a train, with no ability to resist, flying backward.

The blue aura rapidly expanded from its abdomen as it blasted away the goblin.

The aura tore through skin, flesh, and bone in an instant.

Under this magical wave, the goblin’s entire tangible body was fragile and broken.

“Bang!!!!”

The blue magic pierced through the goblin’s body, striking the ground and exploding!

The dazzling blue light mixed with scarlet blood lit up the forest like fireworks blooming in the night!
