IMUC Chapter 665 Journey to Asgard
No one witnessed the details of the conversation between Kyle and the Grandmaster.
The aliens on Planet Sakaar only observed the aftermath: after Tyrant Kyle departed the Grandmaster Tower, the tower's summit opened, and the Grandmaster's personal interstellar ship launched. Accelerating upwards, it vanished into the crimson vortex of the wormhole, leaving Planet Sakaar behind.
The Grandmaster was gone.
The god who had created and ruled the civilization of Planet Sakaar for millions of years departed without a word, disappearing into the stars, his destination unknown.
To the aliens, this outcome unequivocally signified Kyle's complete victory.
However, only Kyle knew that this was, in fact, the most favorable outcome for the Grandmaster. Why he ultimately broke the terms of the wager and left Planet Sakaar remained a mystery— perhaps only the Grandmaster himself knew the reason.
With the departure of their Grandmaster ruler, the planet's enslaved warriors and prisoners were finally liberated. A wave of celebration erupted across the city, filling the air with joy and triumph.
In the city of Planet Sakaar
Following Thor's powerful energy signature, Kyle located his position to an interstellar ship parked three kilometers from the gladiator arena.
"Kyle!" Thor and Banner rushed out to greet him on the ship's deck as Kyle descended in a burst of glowing flames. Valkyrie followed them, her expression filled with respect as she regarded the man before her.
A true warrior, capable of single-handedly battling an entire civilization's fleet and forcing the Grandmaster into retreat, commanded both admiration and reverence. Once this story reached the Nine Realms, Kyle's name would be known throughout the universe.
"What's your next move?" Kyle inquired of Thor and Banner, his tone calm as he deactivated his double-star form.
"I must return to Asgard immediately!" Thor declared, clenching his fists. His voice was grave. "My father is gone. The future of Asgard rests solely on my shoulders now. Hela has already returned to the realm, and I'm deeply concerned about the situation there."
"And you, Banner?" Kyle turned to the scientist, who had reverted to his human form.
"I just learned that I've been the Hulk for six months and crash-landed here in a rogue Quinjet," Banner replied with a wry smile. He hesitated briefly before shrugging. "Of course, I want to return to Earth, but if Thor's homeland is in danger, I'll go with him. Perhaps I can be of some assistance."
Kyle nodded and then turned to Valkyrie. "What about you?"
"I…" Valkyrie hesitated, glancing at Thor and then at Banner before making her decision. "I'll go with you. The Grandmaster has left, and I'm uncertain what will become of Planet Sakaar without him."
Though the Grandmaster had ruled with capricious cruelty, his presence had undeniably maintained a degree of stability on the chaotic planet. Now that he was gone, while the immediate consequences were unclear, the future likely held greater instability and disorder.
"Very well. If that's settled, let's prepare to depart— straight to Asgard," Kyle said evenly.
"Depart? I'm sorry, Kyle," Valkyrie said with a serious expression. "You may be incredibly powerful, but leaving Planet Sakaar isn't that simple. The space surrounding this planet is highly unstable. To traverse the wormhole vortex and reach Asgard, you'd require a top-tier interstellar ship— something on the level of the Grandmaster's craft. This one isn't sufficient."
"We don't need a ship," Kyle said, shaking his head.
"Kyle, are you referring to the Bifrost in Asgard?" Thor frowned, a bitter smile crossing his face. "But I've already attempted to summon Heimdall, and it seems something has gone awry on his end. He cannot hear my summons."
"Not the Bifrost," Kyle replied calmly.
Under the curious gazes of Thor, Banner, and Valkyrie, Kyle flipped his hand over, producing an item from his Card Space. As the object materialized, a radiant sapphire-blue gem rested quietly in his palm.
"This is…" Thor and Banner's eyes widened in unison as they exclaimed, "The Space Stone?"
Kyle nodded without hesitation. At this point, there was no need to conceal the existence of the Space Stone. It was a tool meant to be utilized, and anyone contemplating taking it from him was welcome to try.
"Wait a moment," Thor interjected, his expression puzzled. "I recall the Tesseract ended up in Loki's hands. He even flaunted it before me."
"That's correct," Kyle replied casually. "The Tesseract is with him, and the Space Stone is with me. What's the issue?"
Thor and Banner exchanged glances, understanding dawning on their faces. Both couldn't help but feel awe and respect for Kyle's resourcefulness.
"You're incredible, Kyle. Always one step ahead," Thor said with a hearty laugh. The thought of Loki carrying around an empty shell amused him even more, causing him to laugh louder.
"Well then, let's go," Kyle said, firmly gripping the Space Stone in his right hand. Channeling the energy of his dual-star form, the radiant blue light began to emanate, forming a spatial mist leading to Asgard.
"Wait, Thor!"
"Hold on, we're here!"
Suddenly, voices called out from nearby.
Kyle and the others turned to see a towering stone man and a bug-like alien hurrying toward them, panting as they approached.
"Miek? Korg?" Thor exclaimed in surprise, slapping the stone man on the shoulder as he arrived. Turning to Kyle and the others, Thor explained, "These are my friends from the prison."
The stone man and the insect alien both cast respectful glances at Kyle before turning to Thor. With earnest expressions, they said, "Thor, we know you're leaving. Please, take us with you."
Thor hesitated, then shook his head. "Where we're going, it may be unimaginably dangerous."
The Goddess of Death, Hela, was no trivial foe. She had shattered Thor's hammer with ease and would wield infinite power upon returning to Asgard.
"But we don't wish to remain here," Korg said, exchanging a glance with Miek. "We'd rather accompany you."
Thor turned to Kyle for advice, seeking his opinion.
After a moment of thought, Kyle suggested, "How about this: once we've addressed the situation in Asgard, Thor can return to retrieve you. With the Space Stone and the Bifrost, it will be effortless to bring you along later."
"That works," Thor agreed.
Korg and Miek nodded as well, and the group reached a consensus: Thor would return for them after resolving the Asgard crisis.
None of them, not even Kyle, noticed the unintentional foreshadowing in their agreement.
"Well then, let's go," Kyle said, activating the Space Stone. The spatial mist engulfed him, Thor, Banner, and Valkyrie, enveloping them entirely.
"Thor, we'll wait for your return here," Korg and Miek called out, waving as the four vanished into the mist, leaving Planet Sakaar behind.
