Chapter 404: Chapter 402 Pei Guode

February 1, 2113.

Heiside State, Eltoya.

Even in this country situated on the equator, a heavy snowfall had arrived.

It was highly unusual.

As one of the hottest places on Earth, Heiside State did have a winter season, but only a few areas experienced occasional snowfall.

Yet these past few days, the snow in Eltoya had been exceptionally heavy, enough to make many nations in the East Continent envious.

Global warming was no longer a topic of debate but had become a norm; summer temperatures had long since soared past 40 degrees, and while many countries convened repeatedly, no real action was taken in the end.

Developed nations time and again lectured developing countries: eat less meat, use less oil, generate less electricity, emit less carbon dioxide. However, they themselves continued to produce larger supercars and waste more energy.

The world had never been about morality, only about power.

However, all these things were now unrelated to Wei Tianyang because today marked the official completion of the Pei Guode Hotel.

Wei Tianyang stood at the back of the crowd, looking at the imposing black building, his face showing genuine joy.

Baphomet, carrying Yaha dressed in a deep purple down jacket, panted and followed behind him.

"That building is beautiful," Wei Tianyang said.

"I can see nothing but a bunch of asses," passed Baphomet through telepathy.

"I wasn’t talking to you," said Wei Tianyang.

He turned to look at Yaha, who was tilting her head up slightly with her mouth open, her expression somewhat complex.

"Yaha, look, your hotel, we’ve built it again," said Wei Tianyang.

"Yishenmali... Yishenmali..." Yaha murmured absently.

"It looks a bit different than before, right? It’s become a bit narrower, and it lacks the extended wings..." commented Wei Tianyang.

The site was a long strip of land sandwiched between two streets, facing each other at the front, so the hotel could only be built as a slightly inward tapering trapezoid.

But because they employed the original architect, the interior decor and structure remained indistinguishable from the version in Chicken Snake Country.

Rada Gan stood on the steps, participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor, dressed in a suit, shaking hands with Etolia’s mayor, local business leaders, and others one by one.

Contrary to Wei Tianyang’s expectations, these business magnates included not only Black but even White faces.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony attracted some journalists, and later there would be a banquet set up in the lobby on the first floor—something Wei Tianyang was definitely uninterested in.

After the dull journalist interview concluded, everyone was invited into the lobby, where long tables were laden with exquisite foods. The most affluent and powerful people in town held stemmed glasses, chatted with each other, and discussed Rada Gan.

Wei Tianyang, along with Baphomet and Yaha, transitioned from the objective reality into the hotel, appeared in the elevator hall, and took the elevator directly to the 28th top floor.

According to the original design, the first floor of the hotel was a banquet hall, the second was for staff offices, the third had a swimming pool and gym, the fourth was planned to be a large casino, and the fifth was a nightclub.

Floors six to twelve contained standard guest rooms, thirteen to nineteen had VIP guest rooms, and the twentieth was for bodyguards’ residences.

Above the twentieth floor lay a forbidden domain; unless Wei Tianyang and Rada Gan consented, no one could enter, and anyone who defied this rule would die there.

Moreover, there was a vast space underground which was constructed avoiding the subway lines; the two large subterranean areas were used as an armory and a treasury.

Weapons needed by Rada Gan’s forces and gold statues not yet melted into bars were all stored there.

And just yesterday, Wei Tianyang had also tossed the nuclear bomb from the Sethiyan Federation into it.

Yaha’s room was arranged on the 25th floor, but Wei Tianyang did not choose to stay with her; his residence was on the 28th floor.

The rooftop had a garden and a swimming pool that VIP customers could reach directly through a dedicated elevator. While they rode the elevator or frolicked in the pool, they might have wondered who the top 20 floors were for, but they had no chance to find out.

Rada Gan paced in the lobby and, finding a waiter, whispered, "Prepare another set of banquet dishes and send it to the 28th floor."

The waiter nodded and hurried back to the kitchen.

At that moment, the mayor of Felda City, Rouke, approached and raised his glass to Rada Gan.

They clinked glasses and exchanged a few pleasantries, after which Rouke drew him aside where fewer people were around and cut straight to the chase, "When can I meet him?"

Rada Gan took a sip of wine and replied, "Who?"

"We don’t mention his name, but you know whom I am talking about," Rouke said.

"I don’t know," Rada Gan laughed.

"I met with the tax officer, and he said you are... sheltering a remarkable person," Rouke said.

"He’s guessing," Rada Gan said.

"If this hotel were merely your operation, why would I grant you so many privileges?" Rouke asked.

"You can back out any time." Rada Gan smiled, raised his glass to him, and then turned and walked away.

Rouke looked up at the ceiling, tapped his glass in the direction of the chandelier, and said, "Glad you’re here, you are... I know."

Rada Gan wandered around the lobby, and at that moment, a familiar face walked in through the door.

It was an elderly man in a maroon suit and a black coat, accompanied by a blonde-haired blue-eyed woman in a purple trench coat.

"Spencer..." Rada Gan said.

"Rada Gan," Spencer replied.

"It’s rare to see you; we haven’t met in a while, or rather, you bluntly refused the last time I invited you, but here you are, uninvited," Rada Gan laughed.

He then turned to look at the woman and asked, "Madam?"

"I am not so fortunate; this is Leona, the President of Prussia," Spencer said.

"I’m just a hotelier; it’s not my place to personally meet the founder of the world’s largest pharmaceutical company and a country’s president," Rada Gan laughed.

"We represent a newly established foundation, here to... discuss some collaborative matters with him," Leona said.

"I don’t know whom you are talking about," Rada Gan said.

"We only ask to see him," Spencer said.

"He’s not here," Rada Gan said.

"I am certain..." Spencer began to speak, but suddenly, a voice filled his head.

"Today I want to see no one. If you dare leak any information, I will eradicate the Sethiyan Federation and Prussia from the earth."

Spencer lowered his head to look at Leona, certain she had also heard the voice.

"Excuse us, Rada Gan, and may your business prosper," Leona said.

She and Spencer took a few steps back and then turned and left.

Rada Gan sighed, thinking about finding Wei Tianyang; it would be easy because he had not really tried to hide.

Perhaps what he called "hiding" was merely a polite way of saying "I don’t want to play with them anymore."
