I am chasing a rough man in the 80s
Chapter 962 Run Fast

Chapter 962: Chapter 962 Run Fast

Yu Jingting was leading a few people on a tour of the pig farm. Although numerous farms had popped up recently, his was still quite famous locally.

"Can’t the price be a bit more favorable?"

When Yu Jingting heard the customer ask that, he knew they were ready to make a deal.

So, he generously knocked off a thousand yuan, and both parties reached a consensus with great pleasure. Next up was signing the contract and preparing for the handover.

That’s when Suizi arrived.

"What brings you here?" Yu Jingting asked.

Seeing that he had customers around him, Suizi made up an excuse.

"I was passing by with Dongdong and thought I’d wait here for you so we could go home together. I’m not getting in the way of your work, am I?"

"Not at all, I’ll be done soon." Seeing Ma Zisheng was also there, Yu Jingting knew Suizi hadn’t come by just because she was passing through.

The child was supposed to be in class.

Suizi took the children’s education very seriously. She wouldn’t even let them take time off for a competition; how could it be a casual drop-in?

Years of unspoken understanding between the couple prepared Yu Jingting for something, so he wanted to ask the customer to wait for a moment, but the customer was not having it.

"Boss Yu, let’s quickly sign the contract. It wouldn’t be right to keep your wife waiting for too long."

Suizi realized the customer was overthinking it.

They probably feared she was there to increase the price or that Yu Jingting might renege, so they wanted to get it in black and white as soon as possible.

Suizi nodded at Yu Jingting, signaling him to go ahead with the pig farm sale, as she could wait for him a while longer.

This couple had a unique business mindset that ordinary people just couldn’t grasp.

Everyone was clambering to jump on the bandwagon of pig farming, hoping it would lead to quick riches, with new pig farms popping up like bamboo shoots after a rainstorm.

Yet here was Yu Jingting, a large local breeder, who wanted to clear out and exit the business. He even voluntarily gave a discount of 1,000 yuan. This "prime cut of meat" was not something the customer wanted to miss out on.

Yu Jingting went with the customer into the only lounge in the pig farm. The staff lived there; a small room not very large, with tables and chairs, suitable for signing contracts.

Suizi stood in the Courtyard, looking around anxiously.

The farm usually had eight staff members living together, each with their own tasks. Suizi called over the one in charge of feeding.

She felt that Chen He convincing Chen Tong, a child of such size, wouldn’t likely act somewhere else, but that the most probable place for sabotage would be in the feed.

"Have you seen Tongtong today?"

"Tongtong? Yeah, he was here, about half an hour before the big boss arrived. He came by himself. I even asked why his dad didn’t come," replied the caretaker.

"Where is he now?" Suizi asked urgently.

"He left, said his dad left something here and he came to help look for it. He wandered around a bit, but I don’t know when he left."

Chen He was the nominal Factory Director of the farm, and would often come by. The staff were all familiar with Chen Tong.

"Has the feed been mixed today?" Suizi continued to inquire.

"Just finished mixing it."

Once she got a definitive answer, Suizi hurried to the Mixing Room without a moment’s delay.

She was burning with anxiety and also very angry.

Today, Yu Jingting was to sign a contract. According to usual practice, this pig farm would officially change hands tomorrow.

If the pigs died today, the loss would definitely be on Yu Jingting.

If Chen Tong really colluded with Li Tieguang to do such a thing, then the child would be profoundly disappointing to her. It would be like pushing her family into a dead end.

All the liquid assets she and Yu Jingting had were tied up in foreign exchange in the Special Zone. There wasn’t much cash on hand to mobilize. If there was an incident here, just the penalty fees could strip two layers of skin off the Suizi’s family.

Suizi stormed toward the Mixing Room, seething; she hadn’t yet touched the door when a roar came from behind her:

"Don’t go in!"

Suizi turned around, looked left and right without seeing anyone, but recognized the voice as Chen Tong’s, which only fueled her anger.

"Get out here!"

A head slowly emerged from the rooftop, wearing a circle of a hat made of leaves—it was Chen Tong.

Suizi looked even more infuriated.

Was this guy playing at hiding here?

Chen Tong’s abnormal behavior further confirmed Suizi’s suspicion; this kid was definitely up to no good and planning to set Yu Jingting up.

Not only had he tampered with something, but he was also lying in wait. Was he planning to enjoy the show?

"Get away from here, quick!" Chen Tong called desperately, looking extremely anxious.

"Get down here!" Suizi wanted to give him a beating right then and there.

"You move first—" Seeing Suizi still standing in front of the Mixing Room, Chen Tong became so agitated he jumped down from the roof.

Although it was only a single-story building, it was still over three meters high.

Watching, Suizi felt her heart might stop as Chen Tong landed with an ’ow,’ apparently injuring his foot.

"Run...!" Chen Tong, enduring the sharp pain in his ankle, dragged his leg as he ran toward Suizi.

Suizi heard a series of pig screams, sounding quite frenzied, coming closer and closer.

A keeper shouted, "How did the sow get out?!"

A fat old sow, its body stocky, was sprinting towards them with surprising speed.

Sows usually have their own stalls, and there are never any biting incidents; moreover, this old sow seemed to be drawn to something, madly charging straight toward Suizi.

Chen Tong had injured his left leg during the jump, and the pain was excruciating, but to protect Suizi, he could only pull her to run with him, cursing Ma Zisheng, who was running alongside them.

"Ma Zisheng, you rat bastard, did you snitch? Why did you tell her?!"

At this moment, Dongdong was also utterly confused, never before having seen such an aggressive pig. What was happening?

Suizi was so terrified she lost all composure; she had never run so fast in her life.

"Boss, you run first, I’ll chase it back—ah!" A scream of pain from the keeper echoed from behind., as she turned to look, she saw the keeper get knocked flying by the pig.

In the time it took her to glance back, the pig had also charged over, howling as it lunged at her, leaving Suizi petrified with fear.

"Run!" Dongdong bravely stepped up, attempting to block the nearly 300-pound massive pig with his slender body.

The sow didn’t even glance at him, running past and straight for Suizi.

In desperation, Dongdong reached out to grab the pig’s tail.

The sow kicked up its hind legs at him, sending Dongdong flying.

The pig seemed to be driven by its own will, targeting Suizi, its hefty head charging towards her.

"Watch out!" Chen Tong pushed Suizi aside and was knocked away by the sow.

He lay on the ground, desperately grabbing the pig’s tail. Frightened, the pig let out a stream of urine, dousing Chen Tong, but, thinking of Suizi in front of him, his heart’s cherished knot, not only did he not let go, he even pulled harder.

Despite being dragged by the sow, he was determined not to let go.

Yu Jingting, who had been inside signing contracts, heard the commotion and ran out, only to witness this shocking scene.

He swiftly rushed over, pushed Suizi aside, and without hesitation, reached out with both hands and grabbed the pig’s ears.

This was a move of someone with rich experience; in the countryside, one person would handle pig slaughtering by holding the ears and another the tail. The two of them, working together, managed to control the frenzied sow as other staff members swarmed in, quickly subduing the pig.

Only, Chen Tong couldn’t bear to watch, drenched in pig urine...
